View Full Details of Phoenix Park Care VillageMost of staff very lazy and in my eyes don't care for residents. This is the residents homes and should have all the comforts like they did in their previous home all I can say is I hope and pray I don't need to go in one it is heartbreaking.
I have lived here since May 2023 and I can honestly say that the Fairways has a caring professional feel to it. The staff are friendly, the manager is superb and will go out of her way to help anyone. I am totally settled with no intention of leaving here. All I can say is a big thank you to the manager and her team for making my life livable again.
A very pleasant place in the universe to live life, also in a constructive way, and keep chaos secure in life, living again in peace, also in mind. Great.
Was dead against homes, and promised I would never put a family member into one. But since coming to see my husband in here, it has changed my mind. Very caring and supportive with both of us, would definitely recommend to others, love the staff and all they are doing here.
I am very pleased with Hill Top Care Home. The staff are all amazing, they all go that extra mile to ensure all residents are well looked after. The food is very good, a good menu every day, they cater for everyone's needs. The staff are more like friends now, I can go visit and leave knowing my relation is in very good hands. The manager is there always on the ball. I really cannot thank the team enough for all their hard work. Well done to the team, superstars, all of you.
In the few weeks, my mother-in-law lived here, she received the very best care from staff who clearly enjoyed being with the residents and who gave the family a warm welcome whenever we visited. Communication from senior staff was both empathetic and professional, we were kept informed of any observed changes. We were impressed with the immediate action taken when she required medical intervention and were kept informed at all times. The home environment was clean and comfortable, and additional resources (eg alarmed crash mat) were provided when needed. Outside services (hairdresser and chiropodist) kept her self-image high, and other activities occupied and stimulated her mentally, (sing-a-long). Overall, the family were extremely satisfied with the provision in this care home.
My cousin has been resident in the home since Christmas 2023. He has been very settled, loves his ensuite room, says the food is excellent and the staff very supportive to all his needs. Each time I visit the home is clean and tidy. I am always greeted by friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble for any residents observed by the staff. The facilities are excellent. Staff knowledgeable and caring. Food looks appetising. I am notified of any changes in my cousin's health (I am his next of kin). I am very happy with his placement.
Fantastic staff, great care. The staff explain everything to us relating to our mum they are friendly, kind, and very helpful, completely understanding of our worries if we leave any really good teamwork and a very nice manager of the ward.
The Fairways at Phoenix Park has been caring for my mum for nearly 5 years, and the staff there have become like family to all of us. The love and care she receives daily is incredible and difficult to put into words. The respect they show mum, and her beliefs, and the support they give her to be able to follow them are overwhelming. I feel I have a wonderful communication pathway with them. They contact me whenever needed and honestly have allowed me something that I have never had while mum was alone or in hospital that I will be grateful for the peace of mind! I trust the team at Fairways with my mum's life and care and will never be able to thank them enough! Thank you.
Was nice to pick my room, which was on the ground floor looking onto the gardens. Was supplied with a key to lock room as appreciate others wander around freely. Room temperature a little on the cool side, and water from hot tap didn't get warm. Shower good though. All staff amazing, friendly and helpful with my physio exercises. Plenty of encouragement and praise. Felt could have more activities in-house, memory games, newspaper reading and games/puzzles, but staff are extremely busy. Very generous with food portions. Enjoyed my stay, but no place like home!
My wife's been a Hilltop resident for almost 2 years. I can't ask for a more fitting place for my most precious possession - my wife - to be in. Staff have been simply amazing with her. They are always kind, caring, compassionate, and respectful to my wife and me. They become friends. Each resident does things in their own time, never forced. There is no timetable or agenda to follow. Some staff even come in on their days off taking residents out in the minibus in small groups. There's a good variety of activities to help stimulate and encourage residents - music, drum therapy, chick hatching, a Shetland pony, therapy dog, films, etc. There's also a visiting chiropodist and an on-site hairdresser. My last point is very important: staff make it very clear they are there also for relatives. Times are very distressing for close family, they are always there on the end of the phone if I'm upset, anxious, or need a pick me up.
My mother was placed at Hilltop Care Centre because she was living with severe dementia. Her room was large and very light, with an ensuite shower and loo. She was very poorly for most of her 2-week stay and on end-of-life care for her second week. The carers and nurses were so kind and compassionate. They provided personal care with great skill, patience and immediate attention. There was generally a good number of staff on duty at any one time. They encouraged and prompted Mum to eat but did not try to force her. When it became impossible for Mum to get out of bed, they tried different types of cups to help Mum drink. Nurses arranged medicines to control Mum's pain and agitation and were on hand to administer these as required. But they also respected Mum's and my wishes for minimal intervention and gave us space and time to just be together.
My husband has some challenging behaviours at times, the staff treat him with care and love. He's nonverbal so it's difficult to understand him, but the staff have gone out of their way to keep him settled and well cared for.
All staff go above and beyond for my mum and from what l have seen for all residents, nothing is too much trouble. My mum has physical and mental health needs. Mum had to go into a home due to the care package at home breaking down, l am so pleased we chose Hill Top Care Centre. We know as a family that Mum is safe and so well looked after. It has been difficult times the last few years, even through the tough times the staff never give up and are dedicated.
The staff at Hilltops have been outstanding with their care for my father. They are always caring and compassionate and provided a quality service. Thank you for everything you have done for Dad and is as a family. The team led by the manager are a real credit to Prime Life
For the second time this year, we have made an 80 mile round trip to visit my mum at Hill Top. Today it was Mothering Sunday. On both occasions, we have been refused entry due to Covid in the care home and us not being notified beforehand. The carer we spoke to on arrival today advised us Covid had been in the home for over a week. Considering the cost of fuel and visitors wishing to visit on Mother's Day it is not acceptable to not inform visitors about access to the property being limited.
My experience of this home with my mum a resident leaves a lot to be desired, with communication, competency, and the ability to follow simple family request, all of which leads me to despair on a regular basis!
Soon my wife, a lifelong Glasgow Rangers fan will have been at Hilltop for 3 years. Throughout my wife has been safe, better looked after than any through any care I could provide at home, nurtured emotionally, physically and yes as I look back, with probably every essential care need exceeded in its application. Where I failed to meet my wife’s care needs Hilltop has succeeded. I had no intention of singling any individuals out either but the empathetic Manager especially and Unit 2 Care Team Leader deserve this. Thank you all who work within Unit 2, or make its work possible through reception and administration, cleaning, laundry, catering, building maintenance and the other ancillary services. I have in consequence built up an enormous debt - one of gratitude - including that my wife will never know or learn about the Hilltop manager's unswerving allegiance to Celtic!
The home is very welcoming and clean. All staff are providing a great level of care and assistance to my mother.
Our son came to you after a fall, broken ankle, and I cannot fault the care. Even though he's only 45, he's happy, well looked after. Your staff have been wonderful.
