View Full Details of Blossom FieldsEveryone who works at Blossom Fields are so friendly, kind, caring and helpful. The rooms are lovely, spacious and bright with en-suite bathrooms, the communal rooms are bright and very relaxed and there are lots of fun activities to join in with. And on top of that, the food is very good.
I am happy with the staff and the care my mother gets on a daily basis. In general, I find everybody helpful and kind. The highlights for her are the arts and crafts activities. These bring her a lot of happiness.
You hope your parents will always live at home but if a life-changing event occurs and this is not possible, I would definitely recommend Blossom Fields. Staff are respectful, compassionate, kind and give the time and care needed, which at times have needed flexibility and creativity, to meet individual needs. Any questions/queries the family have are listened to, talked through, developing a plan or change of care. The team of carers are wonderful towards my family member. I can't fault how caring they have been towards my parent, giving peace of mind. Activities provided are varied to meet everyone's interests and give stimulation. Meals provided are also varied, presented well, individual dislikes/preferences taken into account. Family members are invited to eat with their relatives which is such an enjoyable experience. Importantly, the food tastes delicious too! Families are involved, thought about, which is comforting to know when there is an elderly partner still at home.
The care home in Winterbourne, High Street is excellent, top marks from me, cared for my dad brilliantly. When I get old I'm definitely going there. You could ask anything and they would see to it. Food, if you didn't want what they were giving you they would go out their way and go and do something else. Staff were so helpful, the receptionist people in the offices, they went up and beyond for anything you needed, they would help you. Every single member I spoke to at the care home and also witnessed them caring for other members that were in the home, they all had the same treatment, went above and beyond.
Staff are very friendly and caring. Management always ready to help with settling the patient. Access at weekend can be trying when it takes ages for staff to answer the call to open the door. Food was very good at first, at the beginning of December, but was poor during the Christmas period.
I have found Blossom Fields to be exemplary in its care of my mum. The staff are always kind and gentle and go out of their way to try to accommodate residents' needs. Mum is never lonely as she loves to sit and listen and watch the staff and other residents as they go about their work and receive visitors in the lounge. She is frequently taken along to the activity sessions and although she struggles to join in, she is surrounded by laughter and chatter which she loves. Mum is not able to walk but is hoisted into a chair and taken to the lounge daily. This makes her feel included and staff regularly talk to and smile and laugh with Mum as she is with them out there. If I have ever had a concern I have found staff and management willing to listen and try to accommodate in any way they can.
I cannot praise all the staff at Blossom Fields enough normally but this Christmas they have all gone above and beyond! From Father Christmas running reception to the nurses and staff dressing in festive attire. My mum looked fabulous and the atmosphere throughout the home was (as always) warm, homely and considerate. A difficult time of the year without your loved ones being at home with you but wonderful to know that the care they continue to receive at Blossom is as near to perfect as you could possibly get. Thank you all so very much!
Dad has been at Blossom Fields for about six weeks so far. The care that he is receiving is excellent. All of the care workers are so lovely and friendly and go out of their way to provide updates on how Dad is doing. The environment is really nice, clean and well-furnished. The food also looks really good and care is taken over the presentation. It's a nice touch that you can hang pictures and photos on the walls to make it more homely. This was such a difficult decision for us, as far as my dad's care goes, but the management and staff have really helped us and Dad to get used to his new home. As his daughter, it is such a relief to know that he is being looked after so well.
After visiting five homes, we were very pleased to be received with a very professional introduction and after six months, my wife has had very good care for her Lewy body dementia. The staff have been exemplary.
I cannot rate more highly the professional care, consideration and kindness shown to my dad since his arrival at Blossom Fields. From day one the team have welcomed my father (and me!) into their community, at an exceptionally stressful time. Each and every member of the team has been great, and gone above and beyond, including the leadership team who have been totally open and supportive. I didn't think that the next stage of Dad's life would bring him much joy, but the exceptionally thoughtful, high quality, very human care of the team has brought a smile back to his face. Thank you team Blossom Fields for all you do for my dad, for me and my family.
My father was in the care of Blossom Fields for nine months. The level of care, compassion and professionalism was excellent. The staff are very gentle and patient and are on hand at all times. My father loved the food, especially the daily homemade cakes. The manager and her team go continually to heights of care that I don't believe are normally experienced. I have nothing but praise for those looking after my father and would happily recommend Blossom Fields to anyone nervous about placing their loved ones in care.
I visit two friends at Blossom Fields and I am always impressed by how well they are both cared for. Speaking to both of them, they say that the staff are very caring and do everything they can to help them. One friend who is unable to stand on his own has a special alarm fitted under his chair seat and if he starts to wriggle to the end, the alarm is activated and a nurse comes and checks that he is safe. This has happened several times while I have been visiting. My other friend says that the food is very good and plenty of it!
I'm very pleased with the care and support Mum has received at Blossom Fields. Unfortunately, she is too ill to join in with activities but the entertainment lady tries hard to include her. The quality and choices of meals are good for Mum who is a very "picky" eater. All the staff are very kind and help her in every way they can.
My mother has vascular dementia and all the staff are flexible and understanding to her changing needs, making every effort to encourage and involve her when she is keen but equally allowing her extended rests at the times she doesn't. The patio and garden areas are an extra dimension to our ability to have quiet time away from the main areas. Thank you everyone, we really appreciate everything you do.
I can't find anything we don't like about Blossom. The care and attention to my mum is wonderful. The staff are so caring and helpful. The activities are brilliant, well done to the team, Mum has really responded well to your music and activity sessions e.g, balloon (thank you, to the activity person). This is both mine and my sister's feelings towards everything you all do for Mum.
My mother has been in Blossom Fields since October 2023. Myself and my daughter are very happy with the care and compassion my mother has received since arriving in the nursing home. They are very quick to pick up any medical issues that may require attention, and we are advised immediately.
My dad is so beautifully cared for by all the staff. This includes chefs, housekeepers, receptionists as well as the nursing staff and activity coordinator. He feels safe and loved. This gives us peace of mind knowing that all his needs, both emotional and physical, are met. I can then enjoy visiting him without worrying about his welfare we can just enjoy our time together and be relaxed.
My father has been at Blossom Fields since March 2020 and has received very good care, he is always kept very clean and comfortable and always appears quite happy and content. The staff are obliging and always keen to help with any requests from the family. There are numerous events taking place if my father wishes to take part or to go into the garden, which is very pleasant. The management team is friendly and helpful, very pleased that there was a place free at Blossom Fields at a difficult time at the start of Covid.
The last place I would put my parents would be a care home, I always said. Push came to shove and I had no choice. Looked at a few care homes and it was a no straight away. Walked into Blossom Fields, Winterbourne and it was a straight yes. Staff are all wonderful and respectful to all patients, food is good. Showered regularly and always look clean. They have outside entertainers come in to entertain them.
I chose this nursing home for my husband, who is living with Alzheimer's, because of its homely feel and enthusiasm the manager and her deputy clearly have for the work of the home. They have an open-door policy and are always available to residents, staff and visitors. I have found care to be gentle, patient and considerate of my husband's needs as an individual and I like the way that everyone working here takes time to chat with residents and help each other out when needed.
