View Full Details of Cherry GarthCherry Garth used to offer a day care service that we utilised for my mother who was struggling with early stage dementia. I was impressed with the support and care the staff provided, so when Covid struck the difficult decision when to move my mother to full time care, was actually an easy decision. Building wise, Cherry Garth is a modern well laid out, maintained, social building but above all what really matters is the care offered. The carers are excellent, attentive, empathetic, understanding and compassionate. Each resident is assigned to a main carer but all carers assist all residents on the wing. The carers are a credit to the Freemantle Trust. Over the years my mum was at Cherry Garth, I knew she was in the best place to meet her changing needs. Mum past on in November, the team were there not only supporting mum, but also myself through this difficult time.
The caring staff at Cherry Garth have helped my mum settle in really well. Nothing has been too much trouble. They have also cared for us as a family as we have adjusted to mum's new situation. My dad has also been cared for when he is able to visit and we all enjoy our visits with mum and the other residents she has got to know.
Staff provide an excellent level of care, being attentive, patient and kind. A good range of activities. Organised timing and frequency of changing the bedding, laundry and medication could be helpful to create less anxiety for the resident. Very good at trying to cater to everybody's individual needs.
Chery Garth is a wonderful care home. The staff are first class. The carers make every thing delightful, their care and compassion shines through in all they do. The management team ensure all works well throughout the premises, gardens and at the administration level. I am very pleased with them all.
Constantly taking the time to offer, considerate, caring and dignified care. Despite several changes of management in recent months, the overall experience is a positive one. The open door policy is perfect, allowing you to visit at anytime. I have always found Cherry Garth to be a clam, welcoming environment. Many members of staff go above and beyond - thank you.
My mother has been at Cherry Garth for two months. She is very happy and always tells me that the staff are very kind to her. The management team were very helpful during the transition phase of moving into the home and helped both my mum and her family to adapt to the change with a lot of professional help and advice.
My mother-in-law (91) says she is happy at Cherry Garth. She has lived there for about two months now, after multiple falls, also having stated very clearly she would NEVER move from her own house! The staff are patient, caring, and professional. She feels safe. The food is traditional type food enjoyed by the elderly. It is plentiful and there is choice. Oh and unlimited and frequent tea and biscuits! There are daily activities such as gentle exercise, bingo, singing, dominoes, and visits from local nursery. In terms of decor, I would describe the home as 'no frills', but the rooms are a decent size with huge en-suite bathrooms. The gardens are beautiful, and accessible. The management are working to improve communication channels with families and build up the key worker set-up. I would recommend this home.
We find the staff extremely caring, very kind, and attentive to my mother's needs. The administration needs a little work. We are very satisfied with the standard of care provided by the staff and are happy to overlook the occasional glitch in administration.
My 94-year-old mum has been at Cherry Garth for around 8 months now and seems very happy there. She has a lovely modern room with ensuite facilities which is regularly cleaned and kept tidy. Also on her wing is a spacious lounge with a television and comfortable wing-back chairs there is also a kitchen/dining room with tea-making facilities for when you visit. It has a lovely garden for her to sit out in and also has a hairdresser and coffee shop on site. There are daily events to suit most people such as quizzes, singing, etc The most important thing is the care which she receives which has been brilliant every member of staff I have met has always been lovely and kind to my mum. As you can imagine looking after older people does have its challenges but they always inform me of even the smallest of problems. Finally, I would like to thank the manager, and his assistant manager for all their patience and help you have both been amazing.
We all feel Mum is safe and well cared for. With plenty of activities to occupy her. Friendly caring staff and a lovely clean caring environment. Mum is so happy and settled. Thank you, love all her family.
Cherry Garth Care Home is a very friendly and homely place. Staff are all polite and helpful and do everything to make the residents and their relatives feel welcome.
We were invited to afternoon tea with our friend, a resident at Cherry Garth. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. The room was decorated for Christmas and the staff had gone to lots of trouble to provide a lovely tea. It's always welcoming and bright at Cherry Garth, with plenty of staff about and a happy atmosphere. Our friend, and neighbour, is very happy there and it's always a pleasure to visit.
The staff are very friendly, helpful and clearly like and care for the residents. They seem very positive and cheerful whenever I visit. The facility itself is very clean and bright and well maintained. There is a range of activities for the residents and the garden is accessible and sunny. Sometimes special requests for care can be missed but I know the managers are working hard on this to improve things. Keep it up. I have seen some really good progress.
Cherry Garth Care Home has a warm, homely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and caring. The family is encouraged to visit at any time which is much appreciated. The management team have been very supportive to both of us. Lost clothes are a problem - not that it bothers my husband.
I am extremely happy with the service provided to my wife. The staff are very helpful with any questions that I ask and my wife has become quite fond of them. I have no adverse comments except for lost clothes. I can not understand how clothes go missing when they are all clearly labeled. The new manager is extremely helpful and considerate.
Dad has lived at Cherry Garth Care Home for over a year. We are very pleased with the care he receives, and we know he enjoys the food! The home is clean and comfortable with a calm atmosphere. There is a very nice garden. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. They have worked hard to ensure everyone's safety during the pandemic.
Cherry Garth continues to provide excellent care to my wife who has been a resident for nearly two and a half years. Despite all the challenges of Covid-19, the home's staff have been supportive, kind and caring, going the 'extra mile' to support my wife as her dementia worsens. I thoroughly recommend Cherry Garth.
Our mother came to Cherry Garth at the age of 94 and in failing health. From the beginning, she was cared for with great kindness, consideration, affection and professionalism. Her personal care was of the highest order and she was always made to feel comfortable and valued. The family made frequent visits to her and again were always made to feel welcome and it is thanks to the staff, that we were allowed to be with her when she died. We will always be grateful for the way in which our dear mother was cared for with so much dignity and compassion.
My mother has been living at Cherry Garth since September. I cannot thank the management team and staff enough for the care given to Mum. All of the staff are professional, interested in each resident and very caring. My mother's health and wellbeing have improved so much since she moved into Cherry Garth. All of the staff are so friendly and you can see the residents respond to them. Well done Cherry Garth.
In the last month of my mother's journey with dementia, she was well cared for. The staff who looked after her showed compassion and spent time with her. They treated her with dignity and did all they could to ensure she was eating/drinking. The staff on duty all knew her - some from when her journey started. When she slipped away peacefully, I could not fault their response and care shown to her and my family.
