My Mum has been at Hill House for the past 2 years and I would rate the care she has received as excellent. The carers and nursing staff have been nothing but fantastic, kind and open with me about my Mum's condition. I am always consulted and get regular updates. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Special mention goes to the activity team. My Mum's major concern about having to go into a home was being 'plonked in front of the TV' as she put it. This is not the case. There are daily activities which she get involved in sometimes but there is never any pressure if she doesn't feel up to it. All in all Hill House is a brilliant home and it is a joy to visit my Mum there. Thank you team!

Good facility with caring and professional staff. Rooms are kept clean and well maintained. Costs are very high but likely in line with market rates. Communication with relatives is good, we are kept well informed with what is happening including activities and visits.

My wife Margaret was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer's. After reaching the point where she needed specialist care she moved into Hill House in November 2022. Dementia was finally to take its toll and she passed away there in February this year (2025). Looking back I can only express my heartfelt thanks to Hill House and its Staff for the care, compassion and patience shown to Margaret throughout her stay. All who visited Margaret came away commenting on the airiness and spaciousness of her room and the spotless cleanliness throughout. The friendliness and caring manner with which Residents were treated by Staff was particularly noted. My thanks to you one last time Hill House and to your wonderful team.

I am lucky that I live close to Hill House so can pop in and see Mum twice a week. There is always some form of activity going on, games, or music, or big TV, and twice a day the wonderful tea trolley comes round with homemade cake. The meals are tasty and well presented, the rooms clean and spacious. I feel everyone who works there is like a member of our family, they are all happy and very welcoming. I am so pleased I chose this Care Home and have every confidence Mum is being very well looked after, despite her advanced dementia.

As a family our main wish is that dad is comfortable and happy in his surroundings. Hill House achieves this. We are kept informed about dad's health and well being. If we have any concern Hill House is approachable and always willing to help. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for all their hard work and dedication.

My father was a resident of Hill House from November 2022 until his death in January 2025. My father arrived with some trepidation, but he couldn't help but be impressed by the care, patience, kindness and respect everyone showed him day after day. All the staff are high quality and showed a desire to make my father's life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They all found time in their day to chat with him and share a laugh. My father loved participating in activities as wide ranging as wine tasting, flower arranging, cookery, bowling, quizzes and he enjoyed the live performances from singers and dancers, the animal visits and all the local outings. The regular residents meetings are also a special feature and made him feel involved in and connected to his care. As a family, we were made to feel welcome at all times and we were listened to whenever we had queries or concerns. The support and kindness we received towards the end of my father's life was outstanding.

I feel assured knowing that my mother is in such caring hands. Hill House go above and beyond in their duties and always with a smile. It's always a pleasure to visit and experience their welcome first hand.

I am writing this as a regular volunteer, but with a background going back to 2016 when my wife became a resident at Hill House. The nursing home is very carefully managed and this is reflected in all aspects of the wonderful, caring and happy atmosphere of the home. The latter has been the case since we became a part of Hill House. As a volunteer, I have contact with many of the residents eg. helping with visits out, encouraging a chat about whatever they may wish to say (very often about their lives and experiences), and in fine weather assisting in a tour of the well-kept gardens and usually, a chat by the fish pond. I am always impressed by the standard of care given by all of the staff and in particular by their patience. I would like to emphasise that this applies to all staff no matter what their particular role may be.

We are delighted with the care given to my husband. Much patience was shown as he took a while to settle in and subsequently with his care. Nothing is too much trouble and there is a feeling of love in everyone and in everything that is done. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, it's a joy to visit my husband.

My wife and I visit my mum almost every Wednesday. Every time we visit, we get a real warm welcome from the staff. We are pleased to see that mum is cared for so well and the staff go out of their way to see that we can sit at a table where she loves to arrange the flowers we take. We are offered drinks and the staff that care for mum always stop to say hello and how are we. We are very happy that mum is being cared for well and if there are any problems with mums health they are always keeping us up to date.

My mother has been a resident of Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home for six years and during all that time I have found all the staff to be caring, friendly and approachable. I have witnessed the care the residents receive from the staff which is very reassuring, as my mother's condition makes her very hard to understand and reason with. We are kept up to date with her care both in person and by monthly reports. The range of activities which take place are excellent and although my mother no longer engages with everything she appears to enjoy watching what is happening around her.

Mum has been at Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home for nearly 2 years now, and she seems very contented and happy. I know she is incredibly fond of all the staff, and really enjoys some of the activities and the outings. I'm very grateful to everyone for the care and attention she receives, and although I'm not able to visit her often I know that she is being very well looked after, while still maintaining the independence which is so important to her.

Both our parents are being cared for in Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home. What sets it apart from other nursing homes is the number of devoted and attentive staff that know Mum and Dad really well. There is very little staff turnover which ensures familiarity for our parents and continuity of care. The residents have a large variety of activities to choose from each day ensuring they are mentally stimulated and enjoying living there. It's reassuring to know that they are both well cared for, during a challenging time of their lives. I would certainly recommend this nursing home as they are a head and shoulders above others in the area.

A beautiful, lovely home with amazingly kind and caring staff. Mum has been there since April 2024 and has been treated with such kindness and respect. The home offers so much, it feels more like a home from home. All staff including the finance staff have been so supportive and helpful. I sleep at night knowing that my Mum is in very safe hands. First class all round. Thank you all.

My mother has been a resident for over 6 months and I can not fault the care she has received. From the moment she entered into care she has been treated with respect and dignity. The staff are very supportive and I am kept up to date with any changes to care or behaviour. Any medical conditions are dealt with promptly and nothing is too much trouble. Always a relief to know my mum is safe and happy.

Dad has settled very happily into Hill House and is well looked after. All the staff are friendly and approachable and take time to explain routines and answer any questions when asked. The home is a lovely environment, always a welcoming place to come into, with calm and well kept outdoor spaces when the weather allows and a bright and spacious lounge with plenty of space for activities to take place indoors. Dad has enjoyed joining in with trips out too, thanks to the minibus with wheelchair access.

Mum continues to do ever so well at Hill House and I cannot ask for more from all of the team there with regards to her care. It is so obvious that she feels safe and is content in her environment. The team do a remarkable job in providing excellent care as well as activities to keep her as physically and mentally active as possible. Very happy - we chose well with Hill Brow and now Hill House - as the care and attention provided is first class.

Mum moved into Hill House for respite care a few months ago after a challenging few weeks in hospital which left her severely debilitated and unable to care for herself at that time. I cannot speak more highly of the staff who have shown great kindness and cared for Mum's changing needs and got her back on her feet. Any health concerns are addressed swiftly and professionally. There is a strong sense of 'family' and this extends to support for families who are made to feel very much a part of the care process. I know that Mum is in safe hands and being well looked after at Hill House.

Dad has been moved to Hill House from another setting because of medical needs and I must admit I was apprehensive about the move. His previous home gave outstanding care and Dad was so happy and settled it seemed a problematic decision to make. As it has turned out I couldn't have been more wrong. The move has meant he not only has the same loving care from staff but now has his additional medical needs met by professionals on a 24-hour rota. We are always kept well informed of Dad's medical progress and family visiting feel so welcome they comment - " it's like visiting grandad at his home ".

The staff at Hill House have cared for my mother (dementia) for over 2 years. As a frequent visitor and volunteer, I have been impressed at the seemingly endless amount of patience and kindness of the care staff, in particular. All the staff are friendly and helpful, to both residents and relatives. Activities are fun and creative. The food is good. The home manager is a supportive leader, observing the residents and staff and encouraging and advising as appropriate.

Both our parents are being cared for in Hill House Nursing and Dementia Home.
