View Full Details of Askham CourtAskham Court is a wonderful place. The staff are fabulous and really helpful. Dad is doing amazing with their assistance. They work with him to find what makes things easier for him. I'm so grateful for all their help in every aspect of his care. 10 out of 10.
I was a resident at Askham Court for twelve weeks. I arrived unable to walk and was using a Sara Steady and left able to walk on my own. The staff were professional, helpful, and friendly and helped me cope with a very difficult time in my life. The accommodation was excellent as was the food, most of the time. There was a pleasant ambience each day. The Physiotherapy staff were excellent as were the Occupational Therapy staff, giving me wonderful encouragement, yet pushing me that little bit further at each visit.
I am very happy that my friend is being cared for in Askham Place. The care team are very kind and helpful. The quality of care is excellent and I can speak so highly of this. I would recommend this care home in any conversation I have to anybody in the future. Please continue the good work everybody does. Thank you for all support.
It's very friendly and clean and everybody seems to get on well. Could do with more activities like when she was there instead of watching TV daily.
I write to sincerely praise the care and dedication given to my husband over the 8 years he spent at Askham Place. The care was exemplary throughout his time and the whole team are amazing. Askham Place is well lead and well-staffed, in order to meet the needs, wishes and preferences of all residents. From what I witnessed during my husband's time there, the team are equality and diversity-focused meeting the needs, wishes, preferences and dignity of the individuals living at Askham Place, along with promoting as much independence as possible. Unfortunately, my husband sadly passed away in April this year, but I took comfort in knowing that he passed peacefully, in a place that was familiar to him, with myself and the team around him - they were terrific from the beginning to the very end. My husband and I were fortunate to find Askham Place, for which I will be eternally grateful.
My mum has been residing at Askham since her stroke in March 2024, she arrived in May 2024 and the care she has received is beyond outstanding, I've never worried about her for a second being in their care. She has come on leaps and bounds since being here - physically, emotionally and in her speech. My mum has beaten all the odds being in their care and I can't thank them enough for everything they've done for my mum in such a short amount of time! They've met all my mum's needs and bent over backwards to make my mum happy and comfortable!
I have found the staff to be courteous, friendly and helpful, in particular the senior nurse who administers the medication. Lovely lady. The home appears clean and friendly. I believe my friend has had a positive time there and received good care. The only negative he mentioned was being left wet for too long on one occasion by a male member of staff. Otherwise all good. Thank you all for the great jobs you do and the patience you show.
I couldn't wish for a better place for my Mother. The care that's given is above and beyond and I'm highly satisfied for the treatment and service that suit her needs. The staff are all very friendly and couldn't praise them enough for all of their hard work.
The staff are very welcoming and helpful to residents and their families. It is like a family-run home. The physio is very good and the carers are very patient and kind. We believe that Askham is certainly the place to be if you have had an injury to the brain. The carers and all the staff work very hard to support the residents and their families.
My wife suffered major brain damage early January, thanks to a specific care unit she survived but required major rehabilitation as part of her recovery and was sent to Askham. Great facilities, grounds and lovely rooms. Various disciplines with specialist staff carried out. Facility both safe and secure with caring staff. Rooms are safe with full hospital-style beds plus en-suite. Communal rooms with catering facilities for those able to use. Very friendly, helpful staff including laundry, visitor's toilets on site coffee shop with gardens to sit in. Must give a mention to the caring cleaner who took great pride and care in her work ensuring everywhere was immaculate.
Can I please stay longer? My brother has been treated with dignity and respect I cannot fault the facilities and the staff are brilliant. The facilities are also very good, I do not think he could be treated any better.
Excellent care. Reassuring to know he is looked after so well. My husband has complex conditions and they are able to spot any problems really quickly. They have been wonderful to me also. They are like family but also very proffesional.
The care, treatment and support that has been given is great. The improvement since coming here has been amazing to see. Always a happy atmosphere and help when needed. Communication is good, very happy with everything.
I cannot thank the staff enough for what they did for me the care was outstanding! They got me back on my feet “literally “ from the therapy team to the care staff they promoted my impedance as much as possible and gave me the skills and support I needed to be discharged home following my major stroke. I cannot thank them enough for what they did for me.
I find the staff are caring and very helpful the unit is very clean warm and welcoming and they give the family updates on how well my father is doing and the treatment he is getting and help us to understand what is happening.
This is an excellent facility set in beautiful grounds with fantastic staff and good food. I hope I can stay there again sometime in the future. I would award it at least five stars.
