Admitted as an emergency we were lucky enough to be allocated this home and found the facilities and staff to be exceptional.
My father spent 7 months being cared for at Westbourne following a hospital stay of 6 weeks. The care and support Dad received was humbling, what an amazing team of carers and nursing staff. They always had the time to talk to my family and reassure us through what was a very sad time seeing Dad's health decline. My family found much comfort in the last few weeks of Dad's life, and after he passed knowing he was so well looked after by all the staff at Westbourne. We can't thank all the staff and the manager enough. Dad was treated with dignity and respect throughout. He was always kept comfortable and clean, the laundry service was incredibly efficient too. The staff even rallied to his often over-the-top requests for very hot tea! Dad knew he was well looked after and that gave the family comfort also. I must mention a particular carer, he was just amazing with Dad. We are so thankful for the support and care he gave Dad and the laughs. Dad was so fond of him.
Mum is well cared for. She is safe, warm and well-fed. The staff are very supportive and she is treated with dignity.
I am really happy with the care that my husband gets from the home. I am happy with his room and the staff. The staff really care for him and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is always good and my husband really enjoys his meals. Staff go out of their way to make me feel welcome.
I visit weekly and always find everyone friendly. The carers work hard and are really helpful. Cleanliness is good and the bedrooms are lovely. Activities are good but would like to see more.
We, as family members, are so pleased with everything in this care home. Nothing is too much trouble, all on friendly terms and Dad is so contented. We cannot thank the staff including maintenance and cleaners enough, everyone is doing a great job.
We believe my uncle's needs are being met to a high standard and the staff are very friendly.
I don't get to visit much but when I do the home staff are always so lovely. My dad looks well cared for and he tells me he is really happy. Staff keep in touch to tell me how he's doing. Dad has a key worker that I speak with. His room is full of all things important to him, the home manager has gone above and beyond to make sure my dad's room is personal to him. My dad is a fussy eater so the kitchen team cook things, especially for him, that really makes me feel at ease knowing he still gets to eat the things he really enjoys. I love seeing the social media posts they keep me up to date with what's going on as well as the news letter. It's also nice to know dad gets to all his appointments, staff arrange transport and go with him. He sees the GP regularly and I am kept informed. Dad recently asked for a bird, and the home set about finding out how they could help with this. Dad now has two Love Birds, staff support him to look after them. This has made him so happy.
What a wonderful home, our family member was recently admitted and when we visited the place was very clean and smelt lovely. Her room was lovely. The staff seem very nice and happy. The lady we met bringing the food into the dining room was pleasant and more than happy to tell us about the food. Much nicer than the last home she was in. The lady doing the medication was very bouncy and happy. We feel relieved.
My uncle passed away at The Westbourne in April 2023 and my mother and I want to say how absolutely amazing all the staff were during the year and a half that he was a resident. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care given to my uncle during his time at The Westbourne and they could not have done more. On top of all their kindness towards my uncle, we were blown away when one member of staff even came in to see him on her day off when she heard that he was deteriorating rapidly and reaching the end of his life. The Westbourne is clearly a well-managed care home and this is reflected in how happy and caring the staff are and how diligently they carry out their duties. We could not have hoped for a better care home - this was the third one my uncle had been resident in - and it has set the standard for what I would now expect from one. Thank you to everyone associated with The Westbourne.
I have nothing adverse to say about my wife's care at The Westbourne Care Home.
I am very happy with the care my wife receives from all the staff here in The Westbourne Care Home at Holmes Chapel. My wife has every help and encouragement while she has been here. All the staff from reception to cleaners are patient and very kind. Nothing is too much trouble to action your request. Food is good and the rooms are always clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
My mum was 'fast track discharged' into the home in mid-April. Although her stay was brief, from the moment she arrived until she sadly departed, the staff treated her with dignity, respect, love and kindness. Being there in her last weeks made our family not have to worry about her being on her own.
It is always special when I come to see Mum. The staff here are warm and welcoming. It helps that you feel you are listened to and any worries or concerns that you may have are soon dispelled or attended to.
My nana was taken into the home in November 2022 following a decline in her health. As can be expected all family were hesitant about her being taken into a home but each and every single member of staff we encountered took away those worries immediately. Everybody was so warm and welcoming, and there wasn’t anything that was too much trouble. The level of care that was given was to the highest standards. We visited daily and each time Nan was seen with the biggest smile, laughing with staff and residents. Unfortunately her health continued to deteriorate but the level of care never subsided and until the very end the staff remained gold standard. We as a family cannot thank The Westbourne enough for everything they did for Nan and we will forever remember everything they did for us.
I came to visit my grandad and it was so nice to see him active, out in the garden, planting seeds and pottering. Just like he would at home but under the watchful eye of the amazing staff. They really do care and you can see this. Nothing is too much trouble. I don't visit often so this is so reassuring to know how happy he is and how well cared for.
I was very grateful to two members of staff who stood in the freezing cold and coaxed my dad out of my car and back into The Westbourne. He was adamant that he was not going to return but they soon won him round!
Mum has been under the care of five differing managers at the home, and the standards at The Westbourne have been on occasions very questionable. Since the new manager joined just over a year ago, the staff and overall standard of care have improved 100%. It's a true credit to her and them. It was highly noticeable that the care and the interaction given by her staff, no matter which shifts, were excellent. Whilst I recognize she eats puréed food, the catering staff's attention to detail was incredible. I also cannot finish without commending her carer, be it in person or on Zoom, her support towards mum and myself has been and continues to be superb. During my visit, I said to the manager this only happens if the head of the team has the right method of management and standards, and this shines through, so please accept my grateful thanks. Living so far away, mum's day-to-day care is so important, and for the first time have left feeling at peace. You can't imagine how important that is to me.
Phone is always answered for enquiries and updates on my father. Also, communication is good if there is an update on his health/wellbeing. Father's room is always clean when visiting, and he says the food is good. Pleasant and friendly staff who are always willing to help or answer questions.
Great interaction from staff to residents.
