View Full Details of The Oakes Care CentreGood clean centre staff very friendly and help full nothing seems to be a problem when asked to do something a proper disabled bay off parking signs would be good. Can't find any major problems satisfactory 9/10.
Made to feel very welcome by caring staff. Also allowed to take in dog which the residents loved. Spent a very pleasant hour and a half with aunty who we think benefited greatly from the visit. It was also very spacious with easy movement around the building.
My mum has been in The Oakes Care Centre for a few months. As a family, we could not ask for a more caring, safe and friendly environment. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers, and the activities are well organised and takes into account the resident's interests. The facilities are first class. Family and friends are made to feel welcome and encouraged to be involved in the life of the home. It is comforting to know that Mum is in a safe place and well looked after.
I love Oakes Care Home. The carers know mum because they have taken time to get to know her. The staff are caring gentle and very professional. There is always something going on activity-wise. The food is amazing. There are drinks available at all times. The home actually does feel like a home so friendly and I love visiting mum. So good that my father-in-law is also here now!
Very caring staff that respond well to my grandma. Great activities are available. Nice dining, lounge and facilities.
Lovely party afternoon with entertainment, a buffet and a tombola. Mum and I both enjoyed it and it was lovely to go together. Having the ice cream van was a lovely touch. Thank you to all involved - all the hard work and organisation was worthwhile.
Mum was welcomed into the home in March 2023 and passed away peacefully and with dignity in May 2023. She felt secure and safe and as a family, we witnessed love and respect towards her and all of the other residents. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Oakes Care Centre. The staff are special people and there is a wonderfully friendly atmosphere with lots going on. If you are considering a care home then The Oakes should be at the top of your list.
My mum, who has dementia, moved to The Oakes Care Centre in June of 2022, she had been residing in another care home for 3 years, I wish she had moved to The Oaks much earlier. I feel so much happier with the care and attention she is given from the staff. I visit the home regularly and know that this genuine care and affection extends to all the residents who are at different stages of their dementia.
My mother has been a resident at The Oakes for nearly two years. She arrived during the pandemic and lockdown, and during that time, the staff were phenomenal - I have nothing but admiration for them. My mother is unable to walk, and her quality of life is very limited, but she feels safe and cared for and is not unhappy, all of which is due to the high standard of care she has received.
I have found The Oakes Care Centre absolutely fantastic for my late mother. She spent over four years there and has been looked after fantastically whilst in their care as she suffered from dementia. Her passing in the care home was peaceful in the end but it's just unfortunate that GPs won't visit the same to care homes since the pandemic. My mum was happy and well looked after and was always clean and presentable when we saw her. I would always recommend The Oakes care home as a long-term residential care for people suffering from dementia. Absolutely wonderful care and cannot thank them enough.
Dedicated staff and care. Social aspects are amazing, with activities and outings carefully planned for everyone to be inclusive of individual needs and limitations without individuals feeling embarrassed at a difficult time in their lives. Accepting that one has to give up their independence is difficult enough. Facilities are excellent, hairdressers etc. Warm and welcoming, modern, well-equipped rooms and facilities. Clean, person hygiene and clothes always kept clean.
The home tried hard in difficult times. My mother feels safe and well cared for. The staff are committed, and the premises are clean and in good condition. My mother's room is nice and indeed is soon to be decorated. The staff know her well and are supportive.
My mum has been a resident at The Oakes since July. Her care is exemplary, the staff are excellent and are respectful of Mum's wishes. With familiar staff on duty, there is a consistency of care. Always plenty of activities going on, if she chooses to join in. Her room is very comfortable and homely. She loves the beautiful garden with the summerhouse. Christmas has been great with so much going on and a fabulous party for family and friends. Well done Oakes, you're amazing. Thank you.
When we arrived with mum, the staff could not have been more welcoming. I was allowed to prepare her room the day before her arrival and could put her personal possessions in place. The room is lovely. Shared areas are nicely furnished and clean. The dining room is dressed like a restaurant. My only worry is that mum tells me that the food is poor, the portions small and the food poorly cooked.
My mother transferred to The Oakes in April of this year and from the very beginning, the care was exceptional her room was prepared with all her personal stuff prior to her arrival which, as she had dementia, really helped with the transition. From day one, the staff were fantastic - the establishment is spotlessly clean and the standard of food is excellent. It is just a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately, my dear mum passed away on the 23/07/2022 she was gravely ill for a week prior to her passing. The staff were absolutely fabulous - they made a very upsetting situation so much more bearable. I cannot thank and praise them enough - they went above and beyond any expectations I had.
The overall experience has never changed from day one. The staff are always top of their game when it comes to looking after my mother. Their friendly, professional capabilities always put me at ease. I have no worries when I leave at the end of visiting. Thank you to all concerned.
Both my parents at ages 93 -years and 92-years entered The Oakes Care Centre together, 15-months ago and both passed away within 17-days of each other. They were warmly welcomed during lockdown and received an excellent quality of care throughout. The whole team are friendly and display warmth and consideration for all the residents’ needs. The family was kept well informed of any problems or incidents during my parent's time there. The staff not only the carers but also the catering staff, the cleaning staff and the maintenance staff, together with the activities coordinator and the administrator went out of their way to make their life pleasant and comfortable. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the team and we highly recommend this care home.
My mother has been a resident at the Oakes for nearly 3 years and absolutely loves living there - she calls the staff family. From the management, carers, cleaners and the activities coordinator, the care is brilliant. My mum seems happy and settled. It was hard with covid and not being able to see her, but the staff kept our mother safe and always reassured us she was fine. I think they are a brilliant team and can't thank them enough for all they do.
I cannot speak highly enough of the Oakes. My very dear friend spent the last 18 months of her life there and was admitted during the second lockdown. Every single member of staff, including housekeeping, carers and admin, took the best possible care of her both physically and emotionally. They went way above and beyond the call of duty and made her feel safe, secure and loved, especially at a time when we were unable to visit. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they gave me and the family time when we called to discuss concerns. It was a huge comfort to know that she was taken care of so well, and that when she passed away peacefully she was surrounded by love. A huge thank you to every single one of the staff, you are all angels.
If I could give 10 stars, I would! My grandmother moved in in the middle of the pandemic when the government did not allow visitors to care homes. This was an extremely difficult time for my grandmother, as well as for us. However, the staff at the Oakes were amazing throughout the pandemic and again, once restrictions were eased. It was always very clear to see that the staff were so very kind and caring, offering an abundance of affection to my grandma when we were unable to do so. My grandma always spoke so highly of everyone and loved them like family. The staff always went above and beyond to make the entire experience as pleasant as possible, despite the difficult restrictions. I cannot thank the whole team enough for their kindness, love and care. They offered myself and my family so much support and love during my grandma's last few weeks and for this too, I will be eternally grateful. In addition to the amazing staff, the home itself and its facilities are spot on!
