View Full Details of St Catherines ViewOn discharge from hospital my husband joined St Catherine's View in December 2024. Our family are very grateful for the care that he received and the support offered to us by all the staff. Sadly, his time at St Catherine's was shorter than we had hoped, but during his stay we felt that he was in safe and sympathetic hands and all the staff could not have been more helpful.
My elderly father fell and broke his hip in September and had a spell in hospital. Upon going home, it was clear that he was not going to manage and my brother and I were going abroad simultaneously. The decision was made to move dad into care and St Catherines was incredibly quick to assist with dad's assessment being completed within 48 hours and his seamless move into his room 48 hours after that. The care and kindness that everyone at St Catherines View showed not just my dad but all of us at a very difficult time was outstanding. The level of care he received was exceptional and we always felt very comfortable that he was being well looked after. I will always be incredibly grateful for everything the team at St Catherines View did for my dad while he was there, you are all wonderful!
The staff from the receptionist to the carers are always polite, friendly and helpful to my mother and me when I visit. Mum seems very happy and content at the home. I would like to thank all the staff for their work in looking after Mum.
I looked at several care homes prior to choosing St Catherines View. Immediately I was struck by a sense of family, love and happiness. The staff throughout my mother's time at the home have been professional, loving, caring and considerate. Whenever I dropped in my mum looked happy, well-turned out and content. In her final days, both I and my brothers were overwhelmed by the warmth of all the staff and the tenderness they showed my mother. I highly recommend St Catherines.
My mother was a resident at St Catherines View dementia care home for 18 months until her recent death. During that time and especially as her end neared, the care home staff were absolutely wonderful. They showed her and our family lots of care and compassion and looked after Mum with genuine love and affection. We consider ourselves to be very lucky that Mum's last year or so was spent at St Catherines.
My husband spent an excellent few weeks at St Catherine's View. He was very well looked after by friendly, knowledgeable staff who always cared for him to the utmost of their ability. Excellent food, drink and services. The gardens always looked beautiful. Thank you to everyone for all their help and support.
Very impressed with the level of cleanliness and care and the fact that all staff are totally approachable and eager to please. As my wife has slowly and inevitably deteriorated the care, compassion and kindness have increased. Bedding, clothes and hair are all spotlessly clean and always staff give gentle reassurance using Christian names.
Lovey atmosphere, staff is always ready to talk to wife and answer questions. Talks to residents and looks after needs at any point. Excellent meals, good choices.
Since a family friend has been in this home she has benefitted from so many things, being part of a new family St Catherines View has the personal touches other homes lack. The teams work together to ensure residents are well cared for, from personal care, making sure they are dressed soon after breakfast, I've never seen any staff treating residents with anything other than total respect and kindness, always with a smile. Only this morning I have given someone St Catherines View as a possible home for their loved one. Well done to all teams within the home.
I cannot thank and congratulate you more, the management, care and teamwork offered by you all at St. Catherines View Care Home in Winchester. My mother has been a happy resident for 5 years, which naturally includes the dreadful Covid period, a very traumatic time for us all, not least for the staff and management. The social outings and in-home events arranged by the excellent activities team are to be applauded. They offer so much pleasure to the residents and it is a great comfort, as a daughter, to know that my dear mum is not just sitting, 'vegetating' and waiting to die. She recently celebrated her 101st Birthday. I would very much appreciate it if my sentiments and grateful thanks could be shared with your wonderful team.
Since my husband has been in this wonderful home for dedicated dementia care, I have witnessed first-hand how amazing the staff have been. The compassion and kindness shown, the array of activities on hand, the beautiful, sensory gardens, the wide, colourful and clean spaces and the competence and professionalism of the manager, all contribute to the well-being of the residents. A friendly and welcoming home for friends and family to visit.
Mum is very well looked after at St Catherine's View. All the staff are very attentive and display genuine care and compassion. It is really reassuring to know she is being exceptionally well cared for and is in expert hands.
I am eternally grateful that we found St Catherines View for Mum. She has settled happily there, thanks to the efforts of everyone involved. All of the staff (and I really mean everyone) are so caring and kind and I feel totally confident that she is being well looked after. I love the way they all greet her with warmth, a smile and her name when they see her. They keep in touch with us well and clearly value Mum and her quality of life. The system of smaller home groups within a larger home works really well for Mum, giving her a safe, manageable space within the wider community. The gardens are beautiful, well kept and provide wonderful stimulation for people with dementia. It has been really helpful to be able to visit at any time and the staff are always helpful and accommodating.
My mother had been in St. Catherines View for four and a half years, where her care had been kind and caring. Her developing health issues from April were managed in a way we would all want for our elderly relatives. But, the care in my mother's last few days was beyond everything we could have wished for. The kindness and constant attention helped me too and, in fact, in the end all was calm and all was easy. Thank you.
Accommodated in a modern purpose-built complex, St Catherines View offers the best possible environment for the provision of excellent dementia care. Medical care benefits from having nurses onsite 24-7. Liaison with GPs and the hospital is seamless. Food is cooked from scratch onsite. It is first-class. From reception staff to nurses, carers and cleaners, they are, without exception, professional, polite and totally trustworthy. A splendid example of teamwork, professional development is encouraged, and staff turnover is low. I cannot recommend St Catherines View highly enough.
My father was a resident of St Catherines Ciew for over nineteen months. Living only a short walk from the home, I was able to visit him many times and become acquainted with the staff whom I found to be professional, friendly and very caring. The home was well-appointed and comfortable. I believe that my father could not have spent his final months in a better place. My brother and I were very happy with every aspect of St Catherines View.
My wife is very happy in St Catherines View. She is well looked after by her carers, and the staff are always friendly and engaging with her. They are equally helpful and accommodating when the rest of the family visits.
St Catherines View is a warm, welcoming place from the moment you walk through the front door. There are many staff who are attentive, patient, empathetic and alert to the resident's needs. When Mum has had medical issues, they have quickly noticed and worked with the NHS to resolve them. Everyone has been so helpful and accommodating from the beginning of the process. We were very reticent about residential care, but bringing Mum to St Catherines View was a great decision.
My wife settled very quickly - helped by the staff who always seem to have time for her, however busy they may be. The gardens are lovely with a lot of interest and very well looked after.
My dad went into St Catherines in April initially for respite. Over the last year, he had become increasingly unsettled as his dementia progressed, and we were concerned about how he would settle in a new environment. We researched a number of care homes, but St Catherines was frequently recommended by friends and contacts, and I can see why. The whole team at St Catherines have been brilliant at settling him; through getting to know him and finding innovative ways of engaging and supporting him. They are highly professional and always so kind, friendly and patient. Within the limits of the periodic Covid restrictions, we can visit him often, and we are always made to feel welcome and part of the family. The team are open and honest when there are any problems, and we have a high degree of confidence in them. Dad loves the food and has a lovely room. We have come to the view that Dad will receive much better care and support at St Catherines, and he will now stay there.,,
