View Full Details of Barchester Hagley Place Care HomeMum has been a long-term resident at Hagley Place. They have cared, loved and met her needs as she progressed through all the stages of dementia. Sadly Mum passed away recently and again the staff were wonderful in keeping me informed and caring for her up until her peaceful passing. They have been supportive of my brother and I, we couldn't have chosen a better place. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Hagley who made Mum as happy and comfortable as possible in her illness.
I had an incident where I fell and broke my hip a couple of weeks ago and I could not have had better care than I have received at Hagley Place. They are the best.
My mum has been in Barchester Hagley Place Care Home since February 2024. We were all very reluctant to place Mum in residential care but she was no longer safe at home and since she has been there, we have been nothing but impressed with the level of support and care at Hagley Place. The individual support they have given Mum has been incredible and this also extends to the support they have given us when things have been difficult. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit Mum and the fact that we can take our dogs in to see her has made a huge difference to her. There always seem to be people around and different activities going on for the residents and their families. I can't say enough good things about the staff there, every one of them does an amazing job.
The team have continued to provide fantastic care and service as Mum's needs have developed. Some issues have seemed intractable but with patience, love and attention, the best experience possible has been achieved for her. Our family is enormously grateful for all that is done... Invariably well beyond the call of duty. Looking after individuals with such complex needs is very hard and the staff have done fantastically with humour, respect but most of all, everyone seems to genuinely care. Thank you.
My brother has been in Barchester Hagley Place Care Home for two and half years. He has complex physical and emotional needs plus struggles with communication. The whole staff have been amazing at establishing a rapport with him, treating him with dignity, respect and meeting his very specific individual needs. They have tapped into his interests, cajoling him kindly when he is being stubborn but also respecting his right to make decisions. Every member of staff, from nursing, catering, activities coordinator, gardener and maintenance team, works over and beyond to create a caring, happy environment for the residents. The staff are constantly bringing in entertainment, music, dance, arranging activities and outings for the residents. I always feel any concerns we have, as a family, are dealt with promptly with understanding and we are always made to feel welcome in the home. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care and kindness my brother receives.
Mum has been a resident at Barchester Hagley Place Care Home for over a year now and I am very thankful for the level of care provided for her. It’s a friendly, happy environment which is clear as soon as you step into the building to the light, airy café lounge with views onto the beautifully kept gardens. The staff in every department are friendly, positive and supportive. Mum is content, safe and secure here and particularly likes the food and enjoys the gardens and I am so grateful to all the carers who work hard to support her health and well-being. Thank you Hagley Place.
This is the second care home that my mum has resided in - in comparison to the first, Hagley Place is better. All aspects of the care my mum receives are excellent. She has dementia and can become very unsettled. She seems to be happy and content where she is. We really like the fact that the caring team remain the same people with few, if any, bank staff.
My mother has lived at Hagley Place for 4 years. In that time we have had the opportunity to observe the day to day life in the home. We are impressed by the caring nature of all the staff and how our mother interacts with them, when she asks for a hug the staff are quick to oblige. We are also impressed by the speed at which the nursing staff address any health issues and liaise regularly with the local GPs. The catering at Hagley Place is excellent and varied, Mum really enjoys the food. There are events and activities going on regularly which Mum doesn't always join in with but the opportunity is there. Hagley Place, despite it's corporate appearance has a very friendly and homely environment.
My Mum moved to Hagley Place last September very reluctantly as she wanted to stay in her own bungalow but Mum was not safe anymore even with care going in. I visited a number of homes but knew the first time I walked into Hagley Place that it would be our first choice and if they had a vacancy this home would be the one I would want Mum to live in. Staff made me feel very welcome and it just felt like the home I wanted Mum to live in. The difference in my Mum is absolutely amazing. Mum is looked after so well, she is now stimulated, has wonderful food, enjoys the many outings, and has put on weight. She looks so well now compared to how she was 8 months ago. The staff are absolutely amazing. The home is very clean. The activities and events they put on are incredible. I know my Mum is safe, very well cared for and she is very happy. I can only say every time I visit it feels like I am at home with her and her new family. I cannot recommend Hagley Place highly enough.
My cousin had been a resident at Hagley Place for six and a half years before passing away in February. During this time, as a regular visitor, I frequently observed a strong, caring and professional team at work. All departments work seamlessly together to provide a caring, fun, friendly and safe environment for all residents. The treatment provided is award-deserving and I'm grateful my cousin experienced such love and support throughout her stay at Hagley Place.
The family are all very pleased with the home. The staff are lovely, polite and pleasant and always go that extra mile to help if there are any problems. The home is clean and tidy and the staff always have time to talk to about any problems you have. The food is excellent even if the resident has to have a special diet. Lots of activities going on and around the home. Lovely enclosed gardens. Fully recommend this home.
My dad has been a resident of Hagley Place for over 4 years. He has dementia. I visit frequently and have always found the staff and have treated my dad with care kindness and courtesy. They have adapted his care to meet his changing needs. They keep me informed and I always feel welcome when visiting. I like the whole staff ethos with all staff members interacting with residents. I would recommend Hagley Place to anyone looking for a care home.
My mother came to Hagley Place Care Home from the hospital when she needed nursing care. From our first point of contact when the team at Hagley until the day she died, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. The staff were all friendly and approachable. They did everything possible to make my mother's final weeks pleasant and comfortable. She was always treated with respect, care and dignity by nurses, carers, admin staff and the maintenance team who took time to put up a birdfeeder for her where she could see it from her bed. I shall be forever grateful that her final weeks were spent in such a special place with excellent care. Thank you!
My grandad was in the dementia ward for just over a week. He was welcomed by all the staff. Sadly he took a downhill turn and Sunday morning the family were warned it wouldn’t be long. All the staff were absolutely fantastic with all the family whilst we watched and waited. The care and understanding we all received but most importantly my grandad received was, without doubt, the absolute best. The whole family have only got good reports for all the staff. And we thank them all for making a traumatic time more bearable.
I am very grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown in caring for my relative in her last few months. I couldn't have imagined a better place for her to be treated as an individual and always with respect. Thank you.
I live abroad but share time here for mum with my sister. I arrived here two weeks ago with a little anxiety about what Hagley Place Care Home might be like, quite naturally. I needn't have worried. There is a wonderful ambience in the place. This is not just because of the comfort of the place but obviously also because of the wonderful staff there. I could single certain ones out but that would be unfair as everyone working there is lovely. We as a family are so grateful to you all. Thank you.
Held a family gathering for my mother in the lounge area of the home. Could not have received more encouragement and help in providing such a wonderful event for mum which lifted her spirits tremendously! She had the opportunity to meet her family which spanned four generations some of who hadn't been seen for some time. We can't thank the staff members involved enough for the assistance in making the day so successful and memorable for all and mother especially.
I came to Hagley Place as a resident in August 2022 due to deteriorating health needs. I have found nothing but compassion, kindness and caring nursing, help from all the staff collectively. My every need has been met. Treated with dignity and respect.
My friend settled into Hagley Place very quickly and favourably thanks to the caring welcome of all the staff and I feel very much "at home" when I visit. The residence lounge in the reception area is for everybody and a very active, busy area. The office - residential and nursing care is excellently led by a very approachable manager.
We attended my friend's 90th birthday party at the home. This was a really well organised event with a lovely meal and party. The staff could not have done more to make my friend's day very special.
