Excellent care home, my sister-in-law has a lovely room that we have been able to personalise for her. The food is good and the staff are very caring.
My sister-in-law has been at Oak Tree Lodge for 2 years. She is very happy and well looked after. She particularly likes the food and cakes. The staff are very attentive to all her needs and I find them very friendly when I visit.
My dad has been in Oak Tree Lodge since July 2024. There are some wonderful very caring carers that work here. I feel happy that my dad is cared for how he would have wanted. He is very safe and secure and that is very important. My sister and me feel that my dad is being looked after and he seems happy enough. Carers and team leaders arealways willing to talk and help.
My mother-in-law spent her last 2 and a half years at Oaktree Lodge giving her so much joy and companionship which was so needed. She was so well cared for and made to feel loved, she enjoyed each day. The staff from reception to cleaning are exceptional. She passed at 96 in the home after unbelievable end of life care by all, we cannot thank you all enough.
My mum moved into Oaktree lodge in July last year. I had looked around a few homes and knew the minute I walked into Oaktree it was the right one. It felt homely and warm, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Mum took a few weeks to settle as we had only lost my dad 2 day before the move. With mum's dementia it was impossible for her to stay at home. The room she had was lovely and very comfortable. Although she ha never been one to join groups, she loved sitting in the lounge watching the world go by. She did sometimes join in the activities and It was fabulous to see. The management and staff go beyond what is expected to make sure the residents are happy and safe. The food was excellent and mum especially enjoyed all the gorgeous cakes and puddings. I am very pleased I chose Oaktree for mum to send her final months. Mum passed on Christmas Day, during her final days the care and love shown to her was so reassuring to me, I knew she was well cared for when I was not with her.
My mother was discharged to a care home after long and repeated hospital admissions and subsequent deterioration in dementia symptoms. After temporary placement in a different care home was transferred to Oak Tree Lodge. The team at Oak Tree Lodge have been fantastic and made a very stressful time for the family and for Mum much easier to deal with. The staff are caring, know the residents and aim to meet all of their individual needs. Mum is starting to settle due to their care and attention. It is early days but I am very grateful to the team.
My mum was admitted to Oak Tree Lodge in July 2024 after having a fall at home and needing twenty-four-hour care afterwards. From the first time we entered the home, my mum and I were made to feel welcome and valued. All the staff from the reception through to the manager including care staff and housekeepers, are friendly, accommodating and helpful. Mum is always clean, comfortable and happy when I visit and I am allowed to book in to have meals with her which is lovely as we always ate together at home. They have allowed me to put up the pictures and photographs that she had at home, so her surroundings are familiar to her and this has helped her to settle in and feel "at home," something which is important when a person is suffering with dementia. I was worried when I had to find long-term care for Mum as I obviously felt that "only the best would do" for such a wonderful person but I'm delighted to say, that I found it at Oak Tree Lodge and we both want to say a big thank you.
My dad's health has improved since living at Oak Tree Lodge, the staff are all amazing, they really go above and beyond for my dad. The facilities are really good and all the residents seem happy.
Overall my husband enjoyed his 2 week respite at Oaktree Lodge. The staff are very good with him and support him well, they are also very friendly. My husband was all smiles when we went to pick him up, he was really happy. He looked well, clean-shaven and tidy and had everything he needed, his room was clean and tidy. All his clothes were washed and dried ready to go home. Knowing that my husband is being looked after so well, means the world to me, due to my husband having dementia, he is unable to tell me about this stay.
From meeting with management, all issues resolved and explained well. Grateful for the clarification. Management are always approachable to discuss any issues and resolve any problems.
My mam has been a resident since April 2024 and I feel like I have been handed my life back since then as the situation prior to that was simply untenable and I was close to breaking point mentally and physically. Mam had a private carer who visited her twice daily to give her medication, and help her with washing, dressing, meal preparation and shopping but even with this - we were seriously struggling and she had been hospitalised twice with e-coli as she was refusing to throw away old/bad food, refusing to wash/shower and refusing to go out/engage with others. All this has changed since being a resident at Oak Tree Lodge. She's clean, well fed, has put on weight, is happier and has made firm friends whom she engages with daily and joins in all the activities with, which is so lovely to see. Staff are fantastic and treat residents with such care and dignity, encouraging them to join in all the daily pursuits which are thoughtfully put together and are clearly a lot of fun.
It was my Mum's first time at Oak Tree Lodge for a 2 week respite break. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and Mum was shown to a lovely, clean room. The Care Assistants (including housekeepers and the chef) warmly embraced my Mum and quickly got to know her despite her initial difficulty in settling in. Mum enjoyed the food, the banter with staff, residents, and liked the open space of the lounge and dining area where she could see what was happening. There was a good understanding with regards to her Alzheimers disease and care was taken to ensure she was safe and comfortable. This is a place where the clients/residents come first and are well cared for in all areas. Thank you.
My dad came in for respite care and I can honestly say he was so settled and content that I worried about bringing him home. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are so unbelievably caring and lovely and let my dad be what he needed to be, they did not push him to do anything he didn't want to. His room was lovely and the whole care home is so clean. The food he really enjoyed. What more can I say other than a very big thank you to all of the staff who are priceless.
Very professional staff who interact well with the resident. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are always clean and tidy and any extra help and support is secured with minimum disruption. Residents' medical and health care is handled with dignity and respect.
I believe that my mother received the highest possible care she could have done. Any incidents were responded to. Staff were open and honest at all times as far as I am aware. Safety measures were put in place when necessary. Staff were loving, affectionate, caring and kind to Mum. Management was open and always welcoming and friendly to me and Mum's visitors. I have been very satisfied with the care my mum received. Thank you to all the staff.
Mum has been in Oak Tree for just over a year and for me having peace of mind she is looked after well and since I don't live near to Mum, I know she is safe which means I sleep! The staff, carers and all the people who come into the home are so wonderful with time and the entertainment is good. Mum does keep busy and loves colouring, she joins in with activities when she wants and loves the silent disco. Thank you to all the staff, carers and team who look after Mum for me.
On my first visit to Oak Tree Lodge, I found it easy to get to. When I went in, I thought the check-in and out system was good. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I was impressed with how nice the decor, furnishings etc were. It didn't smell. The rooms looked nice. The kitchen and dining room were spotless. It was nice to be able to make a drink etc. It was nice and clean everywhere. I didn't see much of the garden but I'm sure it would be nice to sit in when the weather warms up. The staff were around if you needed them. It looked like a home-from-home. I would recommend it to anyone.
Oak Tree Lodge was perfect for our needs, I was exhausted and 2 weeks respite allowed me to recharge my batteries knowing my wife was safe, comfortable, happy. Staff are very caring and well-trained in dementia care. Accommodation perfect and food delicious. Thanks to everyone - hope to be back soon.
