View Full Details of Scholars Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareWhen we came to see Dad we are always greeted so warmly - and impressed by the professionalism of the team at Scholars. Dad enjoys the wide range of activities and recently has appreciated being offered a haggis on Burns Night in recognition of his Scottish heritage and the regular visits from the local school pupils.
We have been impressed by Scholars Mews. My mum-in-law has been treated with respect and dignity. In fact, when we have visited, we have witnessed the staff interaction with other service users. Dignity is always maintained too. Staff are so patient. They deserve medals. Everyone is treated with dignity. Dealing with dementia patients is incredibly difficult and we really appreciate all the help and support they give. Honestly, it may be early days in her journey, but we have absolutely no complaints. Also, Scholars Mews is modern but homely and really clean. I'd like to think that if I need such a facility, this would be it. Thank you for all you do.
My mum moved here in November 2024. She settled overnight as the staff made an amazing effort to get to know here and our family. Everyone is so kind and caring, very professional but also lots of fun. Mum is now interacting with activities, joins other residents for lunch (food is amazing). The staff always have time to chat to my mum and our family. Their care is exceptional and my mum is thriving and very happy.
My dad is being very well cared for by friendly, caring and professional staff. A happy place to visit.
After a very rough time in hospital, Scholars Mews Care Home restored quality of life to resident and also quality of life to myself. Knowing the care here is second to none.
My wife has been a resident for several years and has always been well looked after. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the home is beautiful furnished and comfortable
I believe my husband is very well looked after and all of the staff are extremely kind and caring. I call in to see him most days and he generally appears to be contented, happy and feeling positive. The house is always welcoming and friends are always happy to visit him with any dogs that they may have. I have a dog and everyone loves to see him, residents and staff.
I am the resident and I have lived here for two years and three months. I have been very happy and I'm looking forward to many more years here.
Scholars Mews Care Home provides a caring, friendly and supportive environment for my mother. She is well cared for by excellent staff and is very happy. The activities staffing levels have returned to a good level and the activities are varied and interesting.
Brilliant friendly, helpful and very caring carers and senior carers. During the past 6 months the care provided has been excellent. The activities are also very good and varied. Overall I am very satisfied the level of support and care. When the previous manager was there she was outstanding and so supportive to all family members, staff and residents.
There is always such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and my aunty is always being looked after, supported in activities and always in good spirits. The staff are all wonderful, caring and considerate, so a big thank you.
My mum was a resident for nearly 5 years and she was really very happy at Scholars Mews. The staff were caring, respectful and professional, we couldn't have asked for more, so thank you to all the management and staff for looking after Mum so well. I only have one disappointment, mum passed away in June 2024 and her funeral was in July 2024, not one person from Scholars Mews attended the funeral which I was very disappointed with and I know mum would have been also.
I am happy here.
I feel safe living at Scholars Mews. I like my room. The staff treat me with respect.
Well-run care home. Care home manager has changed many times since my mother came to live here. Significant number of agency staff have supported care provision over the years!
There has been a marked improvement in the standard of care. The atmosphere has greatly improved and residents and staff appear to be much happier. There are lots of activities in place for the residents and my dad has enjoyed going out for walks. Thank you to all the staff and management for their dedication and for looking after my dad so well.
The resident is well-fed, good food and care. Short-staffed at times. Visitors made very welcome. Residents are encouraged to walk as much as possible, which isn't always easy! If a 'frame' is needed - how do they obtain one? At times in bad cases of dementia, they don't remember or hear what the instructions are, or where their rooms are! Now covid is less of a problem, social activities are returning which are very good and all residents and visitors may join in.
Generally a pleasant environment with lovely staff in a great location. Only problems arise through staff shortages. The food is ok but not as advertised (bistro!).
The decor is very restful colours of blue and mustard yellow, beautifully worked out in the decor. The small armchair placed by the window is well placed, and speaking as a person 5'3" in height, very comfortable. Good size, comfy bed. The shower room with a handheld shower was a good size, but sadly the handheld was cumbersome and hopeless to shower without help!
My father has been a resident for over a year now. He has severe dementia and is well cared for. The staff, both in-house and behind the scenes, are very capable and friendly. The services are very good, and I feel they really care for my dad.
