View Full Details of Herald LodgeI have received nothing but friendliness and reassurance from all of the staff during, what for me was a daunting task. The whole atmosphere is calm and safe. I was pleased that social outings were available and my partner is becoming more settled as each day goes by. Many thanks to the staff, keep up your good work.
My husband has been in care for 2 years, the care is first class and is like a home from home. The staff go the extra mile in everything they do. They make you feel very welcome.
Happy place. Lovely facilities. Great staff. Food is great.
Mum has been at Heald Lodge for several years. We are very happy with the care and support she receives there. Staff are very caring and patient, Mum likes the food and care is taken to keep people safe. The home has good facilities and keeps residents entertained with various activities. We are pleased we chose the home, they work hard to make it feel homely with a family atmosphere.
We have found Herald Lodge and its staff to be professional, caring and attentive to Mum's needs and always treat her with kindness and dignity.
My mother has been in Herald Lodge for 2 years and she is so happy to be there. She feels safe, she tells me how well she is looked after and how good the food is. She enjoys the recreational activities. The staff have been very pleasant to talk to and keep me well informed of any occurrences involving Mum and hospital and doctor visits. I am very pleased with how my mother is looked after. Thank you to all the staff, for how you all look after my mother.
My mother moved in last year and the care and support she has received from the staff at Herald Lodge has been amazing. Their care with dignity has supported the self-respect of my mother as they recognise her capacities and capabilities. Their respect for what she can do, the way they took the time to find out who she is and the life she has lived have been great in making her feel comfortable in her new environment over the past months. I must also say that the support they have given me whilst I have adjusted to this new situation has been appreciated. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always keep me up-to-date on how she is which has made the transition in this situation easier to cope with.
We were very pleased to find this care home for my mum and lucky that they had a room available for her at short notice. It was an anxious time for Mum as she had really wanted to stay in her own home. However, we found a true 'home from home' in Herald Lodge and everything possible was done to make the transition as easy as possible for us all. The home is warm and comfortable and the facilities are excellent. Everything is spotless and Mum seemed very happy in her room. Every member of staff from managers to carers and domestic staff were kind and supportive and they could not have done more to help Mum and the family. Nothing was too much trouble. Sadly Mum's stay in Herald Lodge was short and she did not get to experience the many activities on offer. I know she would have enjoyed them as there was always something going on that residents could choose to do. Many thanks to all staff for providing outstanding care to my mum, we will never forget your kindness and support.
It took my partner a little time to settle during which the staff showed great sensitivity to both her and me. She is now very happy, calm and settled in the environment. I am at the home frequently and can only say that the level of care, concern and dedication of the staff to all the residents is to an exceptionally high standard. Choosing a care home is a traumatic experience and I visited a good number before making my choice. I don't have any regrets and we are both happy people.
Every time I visit Dad seems very happy. He enjoys his food. He's always whistling and singing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice wide long corridors. My daughters and I are very happy with his care. The rooms are tidy. My only criticism would be there is sometimes a stale odour on the top floor, maybe due to accidents with residents and carpet on the floor.
The stimulation of residents is excellent. The food is superb and plentiful. The building is light and airy and the garden is cared for.
Mum was welcomed into the Herald Lodge family last year and the team supported her and the family with compassion, care and professionalism right to the end. Despite Mum's numerous challenges, she enjoyed her time there, her surroundings, relationships with staff and other residents and as a family we had every confidence that Mum was not only in a caring environment but enjoyed her time there. Mum leaves a void in us all but it’s a comfort to know she was cared for in her final months. Thank you hardly seems enough but know that the Herald Lodge family make a real difference to people's lives. Keep up the good work and bless the staff team and residents.
My sister has been in Herald lodge for over a year now and I have found the staff cheerful, caring and attentive to her needs. She enjoys walking in the garden and taking part in the activities that are arranged for the residents. Food is plentiful and cups of tea and cake are always on offer whenever I visit. I like the fact that the terms are all-inclusive which means she can get her hair cut or her nails trimmed regularly. I also like the fact that the staff are smartly dressed, which always presents a good image when first visiting the home. Overall, I am very happy with the home and the care she receives.
Mum has been in the home for 4 months and I have found the staff to be the most caring, kind and wonderful people. I have nothing but praise for them all. The home is clean, the food wonderful and they always go the extra mile to make sure that the residents are happy and comfortable.
I have nothing but admiration for the whole care team. From the moment my aunt came to visit 4 or 5 times before her admission, the ongoing care and treatment she received. She has been able to form friendships and enjoys having her hair done, and she loves the food.
I visit my nan regularly, and the management and staff are so kind and always smiling. I feel the homely feel when I walk through the door and would not have my relative anywhere else. There are always activities she can join in with, and if she does not want to, they do an activity with her. So supportive and a pleasure to have as part of our family.
My mother-in-law stayed here for about 15 months but she recently passed away. While she was there, she was looked after with so much care and love that it was a pleasure to see. The staff are wonderful. They keep you informed of everything relating to your loved one and any request is never too much trouble. I cannot thank all of the staff enough at the home for what they did for my mother-in-law and for being so lovely and caring for her at the end. I will never forget you all.
My mother stayed for three weeks and we were very pleased with all aspects of her care at the home. We would have been happy to continue at the home except that the costs are too high. Once the self-funding ends, there is still an ongoing cost of more than £700 a week, which is not sustainable, so we have sourced another care home with lower costs.
Excellent facilities and staff make Mom's time here as pleasant as possible. Numerous events organised by the home - keep Mom's social skills and mobility as good as they can be.
Ideal care homes. The name definitely covers what you are looking for. Peace of mind and the decor of the home is exceptional throughout. The resident's room is outstanding and bathroom/en suites, the cleanliness top notch. Made mums move from respite to permanent home go smoothly. Mum has started to join in the activities and only on the second day. This makes you know you got it right.
