View Full Details of Barchester Worplesdon ViewMy father and his twin sister were 92 in January and we had a private lunch for them and our family at Barchester Worplesdon View. The staff were so welcoming to all our family young and old and the food was delicious. The chef had made a wonderful chocolate cake for the twins which was much appreciated. The room was decorated with balloons and happy birthday banner. It was a very happy occasion with the staff popping in often to ask if we needed anything. The manager came to speak to us all too. The staff at the home from the reception team to the activities staff, clinical staff, carers, housekeeping and chefs are always so polite and cheery. They are gentle and kind with the residents. We feel very fortunate to have our father in residence there.
Excellent range of activities available and my husband actively encouraged and supported to take part. The range of gentle stretching exercises, tai chi and balloon volleyball are all tremendous, keeping muscles active, balance honed and transfers skills, all borne in mind. It's fun too. Please keep this range of movement activities going.
Could not have Father-in-law in a better nursing home. The staff are attentive and always helpful. Lots going on with a wide variety of activities in the home for the residents. Pleasant surroundings with a homely feel. Visitors made to feel part of the family at Worplesdon View.
My husband has been nursed and cared for in Barchester Worplesdon View for many months now to, what I feel, is an exceptional standard. His comfort, well-being, complex medical needs have all been handled by most professional and empathetic staff at all times. There is always a friendly, warm and understanding attitude to me, as a visiting relative. I cannot recommend this nursing home more highly.
My wife's eighteen-month stay here was very good. She was very happy with the treatment she received and our whole family was happy with her stay and we made life-long friends with her carers, nurses and rest of the staff. The staff treated her just like a family. You can't ask for more. We can never than them for what they did for her and us, as a family. Thank you to all the staff from my family.
I spent two weeks in respite care at the Barchester Worplesdon View. I am a full-time wheelchair user with little that I can do myself. I was impressed during my initial visit by both the accommodation and facilities available and the friendliness. When I went to stay I found that everything I had seen on my initial visit was correct and was actually surpassed as I found the care, accommodation, food and facilities were all exceptionally good. Nothing I asked for was too much trouble and I thoroughly enjoyed staying there and will certainly return in the future. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so good.
My mother was a resident of Barchester Worplesdon View for seven months in 2024, suffering from Alzheimer's. On first visit, we were impressed by the building and facilities and a warm reception to our visit. Sadly, my mother passed after seven months but from the first to last day, the entire staff and their approach to care needs surpassed all expectations of the family. The level of care, courtesy, respect and retention of personal dignity was always foremost in the staff and the genuine concern and empathy were truly astonishing. Thank you so much from our family, it will never be forgotten.
We have visited our elderly friend at Barchester Worplesdon View several times and on each occasion have received a friendly and helpful welcome. The high quality of the building itself, the individual rooms for residents, the style of the decor, the cleanliness and attention to detail is matched by the warmth and friendliness of all the staff we have met. Our reunion meal for seven was excellent and the service provided was impeccable. We are pleased our friend has such good surroundings in her latter years and thank you for looking after her and us so well.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Barchester Worplesdon View for more than four and a half years and has been cared for superbly. She enjoys the many activities on offer and usually attends two or three each day. She likes being with other people and keeping her body and mind as fit as possible with yoga, "volleyball", tai chi and other activities, in spite of being wheelchair-bound. Other activities, like word games and puzzles, help to maintain her mental health and keep boredom at bay. We cannot speak too highly of the activities team who are always cheerful and encouraging. The nursing and care staff have been wonderful - attending to her health needs, ensuring that she eats well and is smartly dressed every day, just as she was in her own home. Food quality is excellent, the dining rooms are like quality restaurants with tables properly set and an appetising choice of courses at each meal. We are very fortunate to have found Worplesdon View for Mum.
The professional nursing care, kindness and helpfulness whilst my mother has been in respite care was exceptional. The facilities are also excellent. All visitors were made to feel welcome. In addition the home facilitated a lovely birthday party for my mother.
My husband has been at Worplesdon View for nearly three years. The fact that he is still here is largely down to the high-quality care and nursing that he receives. Although he is bed-bound, nonverbal and showing little interaction with people, this doesn't stop the staff, including the activities team, from engaging with him and trying to find ways to stimulate him. The nursing and care team have been consistent during the time that he has been resident here, which has really helped too. I can only say how appreciative I am of all the people in all of the teams, for what they do for my husband and myself. Worplesdon View feels like a second home to me. My husband is on puréed food and I want to say that it always looks appetising and tastes lovely! Thank you.
The activities are very very good. I am always impressed by their politeness and enthusiasm. Everyone is talked to by name and encouraged to join in to the best of their ability. My mother enjoys the physical activities, the stretching sessions and volleyball (so do I) and boggle and the crosswords.
My wife has been a resident here for almost a year and is happier and more content than she had been for a long time. The accommodation is light and spacious and the staff are wonderful, patient, caring and sympathetic. I can wholeheartedly recommend Barchester Worplesdon View.
The home has a very pleasant atmosphere, the staff are always very pleasant and willing. It is a comfortable home, the food is good and I enjoy the daily and variety of activities that happen daily.
A wonderful place for both residents and their families/visitors. Nothing is too much for all the lovely staff. Really can't recommend it enough.
Staff are very kind, treating Mum with patience.
My mum has lived at Barchester Worplesdon View for five months and from our very first visit, all the staff have been great. From the receptionists and administrators to the carers, nurses, activities team plus behind-the-scenes staff (laundry and maintenance), everyone is so friendly. The nursing team are absolutely wonderful, giving us confidence that Mum is safe and the carers are just that and helpful to dress her in suitable and coordinated clothes. The activities team are fantastic, organising events every day, their enthusiasm is infectious! In summary, I don't believe we could have chosen a better home for Mum.
I cannot express how brilliant Worplesdon View have been. They treated Dad as one of their family and have cared for him so well. Standards are very high, and I can't rate them enough.
My husband had a five-month stay at Worplesdon View. The carers on the second floor were exceptionally attentive, kind, patient, and well-trained in reassuring confused residents. Some residents need twenty-four-hour, one-to-one care, and I feel staffing levels could be higher to deal with those who need that. If management had agreed to this being in place, it would have increased the opportunity for my husband to stay here longer, which he and the family would have preferred. I would suggest that if digital reporting was introduced, communication skills between nursing staff to families could be improved. This would also save carers’ recording time, in order to spend additional quality time with their residents. The activity staff diligently organise various events and are pleasant, cheerful, and fun-loving. They enthusiastically encourage all individuals to be involved. Catering is satisfactory and guests are always offered refreshments. Receptionists are always welcoming.
My Aunt has been a resident for some time now after being alone at home for many years. The staff were excellent and made her feel welcome when she arrived and she has flourished with the social interaction that the home offers. The whole family enjoys visits to see my aunt, walk around the lovely gardens or enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. Hats off to the staff for creating such a warm and friendly environment.
