View Full Details of The Links Care HomeMy brother was admitted to The Links Care Home for palliative and end- of- life care. His stay was short, but during his time there we visited him every day, where we found the staff to be excellent, always on hand to answer our questions and to give my brother the best possible care.
Mum moved to The Links four and a half years ago during the first COVID lockdown. She suffered from dementia and at first found it hard to settle but with the help and care of the staff she adapted well to her new home. She joined in the many activities provided and all of the staff were kind and caring towards her. They managed her condition well through the different stages and it was always a comfort to see Mum with a smile on her face and having a giggle. I can't thank The Links enough for looking after Mum through those difficult years and for their care and compassion up to and during her passing.
Dad was admitted to The Links for palliative and end-of-life care. From the initial assessment by the Manager to the day of his death, I cannot praise all of the staff enough. They took time to get to know Dad and treated him with such care, respect and dignity. We know that at times they were busy but they still managed to maintain a calm and relaxed atmosphere, stop for a supportive chat or update on Dad's condition. Although Dad was too unwell to take part in group activities, I observed other residents obviously enjoying taking part as I passed by the lounge, but staff took the time, when he was up to it, to sit and chat or go through his family photo album with him. We felt comforted by seeing how they adapted their care as he deteriorated and their end-of-life care was excellent. BUPA should feel very proud of The Links.
The staff are friendly, approachable, calm, organised and 'resident-centred'. They create a relaxed atmosphere. They take the time to get to know the residents. Communication is excellent and efficient. My dad has settled in really well and has been treated with care, respect and dignity.
It has been a challenging time for my mother-in-law over the last 6 months, and I am completely confident that The Links are providing the kindest and most comprehensive care for her. The support from the staff for my mother-in-law is outstanding, and I particularly want to thank them for the tireless way they support our family alongside our journey together. I especially want to thank the Manager for her very committed approach, taking time on a very regular basis to discuss everything with my wife, (resident's daughter), and also the nursing staff and carers, some of whom go over and above what could ever be expected of staff in a large care home. The Links is a happy place, residents are often willing to chat and welcome resident's loved ones into their "home family," and we have had many lovely conversations with them, which helps our Mum to feel at home too. The Links should take pride in being able to respond very much to their individual resident's needs. Thank you.
Excellent care home with such helpful, friendly staff. I love visiting The Links, a wonderful family atmosphere and always someone around to answer any queries that may arise. My family and I have complete peace of mind knowing that Dad is being so well cared for - couldn't imagine him being anywhere else. Thank you so much to all the staff for your care, patience and kindness.
My father suddenly needed to go into a care home this New Year and since he has been at The Links I have been very happy with the quality of his care. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending The Links to anyone looking for a care home.
Have visited a neighbour who is on the 2nd floor and unable to get out of bed. He appears to be left in bed 24 hours per day. My wife unable to get out of bed at a different care home is craned daily into a superb chair and taken to the lounge and to events. I also visit two other persons at The Links - they are both mobile. Be sure you make every effort to address this problem of moving immobile people - to stimulate them.
After a couple of periods of respite, my Mum decided she would like to become a permanent resident because she found the other people so friendly and welcoming, and really appreciated the care from the staff. I have the utmost praise for every single member of staff and their exceptional care for her wellbeing. They have an immense understanding of complex needs, especially in emotional and mental health, and all the residents seem to enjoy the food, ambience and entertainment. I would absolutely recommend The Links as a residential home for your loved one.
The Links is an outstanding care home in every way. There are plenty of staff, who are always accessible and happy to help. My husband has been looked after so well, with attention to every detail; I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
My husband was lucky enough to get a place at The Links. It's been a massive bonus for him. He is more aware, happier and active. The staff are brilliant, calm, caring and friendly. The opening afternoon for the garden was a total success. Such a pleasant time with the singer and buffet.
Very poor at keeping me informed. Unable to clarify when my mother lost her dentures or glasses as they did not record this. Mother seems happy enough there but I keep sending emails for example requesting a copy of her care plan that I've never seen and get no reply. Now looking to remove her to another home. Perhaps posting this review will get a reply to my email.
I absolutely love coming to this care home. Everybody is lovely, caring and compassionate. It’s the best care home I have ever been in. It is so homely. The staff would go to the end of the earth to accommodate your needs. I think all staff deserve a pay raise for all the hard work.
My dad has been staying at The Links Care Home after his home was flooded. The care he has received has been outstanding - we are so grateful. All of the staff have gone out of their way to make him feel welcome and at home. From the manager to the carers, housekeeping, catering and activity staff - they have all gone the extra mile for him. Everything is very well organised and any questions or requests were quickly followed up. Thank you to the whole team.
Excellent! Staff were all very friendly and caring and they always had time to care for my mum's needs. I was kept informed on how she was getting on and most times I rang, I was able to speak directly to my mum. The care home generously provided me with accommodation when I needed to stay over and they equally looked after me so well. The management and staff were all very approachable and excellent professionals.
My wife has Alzheimer's dementia and used The Links Care Home for daycare once per week since May 2023. The staff are attentive and caring. They all welcome her by name. She recognises where she is and (so far!) is keen to go in. I am told she eats well, participates in activities and interacts with residents and staff.
Excellent care is given to all residents. Very caring staff, nothing is too much trouble. They all go over and above the basics, with each staff member joining in all the activities and making the residents feel special. I have visited during musical events and watched staff interact with residents. They have animal visits, and each resident is given time to interact with the different species of birds and mammals. Each person is treated with respect and dignity.
I love you all
The reception area is welcoming and staff are friendly. Nursing and Caring staff work hard to meet needs of residents. The staff are always busy. Dad has 24/7 care and is well looked after. Thanks to everyone who keep him comfortable and pain-free.
Well-run care home with excellent, caring staff and frequent activities.
