View Full Details of Abundant Grace Nursing HomeAs a 23-year-old who requires care and sometimes having to go to respite, I am always nervous about going somewhere new. I had a two-week respite stay at Abundant Grace, and as soon as I met the staff, my anxiety went away. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful. The staff helped me settle in and unpack. My medication, which is quite important for managing my conditions, was always given on time by the lovely nurses. I can't praise the carers and nurses enough. During the night, there is always carers on hand when I require assistance. My only slight issue was always feeling during the day like a little bit of a pain when asking for things as the staff were always so busy, but I was never made to feel like this, just a personal feeling. The home is very clean and tidy, the housekeeping staff are attentive to cleaning the bedrooms and communal areas every day of the week. It would have been nice for the manager to pop by and say hello and introduce himself, but this is not a massive issue.
The nurses are good and the carers are exceptional, friendly, cheerful, and knowledgeable of each resident's needs. They choose good people and carers.
Abundant Grace is a great nursing home. My mum's needs are looked after well, by lovely, helpful and kind carers. Any problems are always dealt with quickly. The management team work hard to ensure that the good standards remain consistent at all times.
My husband's experience was such a positive one - all the staff from management to cleaners were so welcoming; the carers were exceptional and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend this care home.
A nursing home, by its very nature, is a place where most people do not want to be, but the staff at Abundant Grace go the full mile in making it a warm, friendly, pleasant place to be. The building is well designed with beautiful well-kept gardens. My mum has been at AG since Sept 23 and is very comfortable, content and well looked after. She loves her garden view and the activities.
My beloved aunt was sent to Abundant Grace April 23, for end of life to only be there a week or two. With pure determination from her and impeccable care, support, love and stimulation from everyone at AG, she managed to go on another year. I felt great comfort from her being there, as I felt guilty in the beginning of her going into a home. They reassured me, comforted and attended to every need to make her feel safe, entertained and comfortable. The staff were patient and so very understanding with her, as well as extremely supportive with me up to her demise. The staff are so warm and friendly. It is such a beautiful building and the gardens are stunning. Highly recommend Abundant Grace to care for your loved one.
Staff are plentiful and very helpful and always on hand to help my mum who is 97. She is very well looked after.
Staff in all areas, nursing, activities, cleaning, admin, welfare are polite and genuinely interested in the welfare of the resident. They are proactive in trying to help residents feel at ease and make those in poor health comfortable.
All staff friendly and efficient and they all help with any problem. Mum has been here 11 years and it's due to the lovely staff she is still with us.
Very good, it's nice to know Mum is looked after and safe... Abundant Grace is very clean and staff are friendly, helpful and able.
My husband was a resident at Abundant Grace for just over four years. The care and love that he received was excellent. From the very first day to the last, he was treated with respect. He was often taken out into the beautiful gardens which he loved. We as a family were always made to feel most welcome and enjoyed time together. Thank you to everyone at Abundant Grace for all that you did and I'm sure continue to do so. Highly recommend.
My aunt and uncle are both residents at Abundant Grace. They have been since November 2022. They are both settled in their own very nice rooms on the first floor and are cared for with kindness and respect from all staff members, who have the utmost patience for everyone. Our aunt has Alzheimer's, and our uncle has physical problems, but they both wanted to be together as they have been for the last 75+ years. But since being in Abundant Grace, they have both been safer, cared for, well fed and contented. They both love being in the garden when the sun is shining and do participate in the activities, of which there are many. We visit them both regularly, and we are welcomed by everyone. Thank you.
Choosing a Nursing Home is a difficult decision, but I am so glad that my father was cared for by Abundant Grace. The moment you step into their reception area you can sense it is a good place to be. Although my father was there for a relatively short time, we felt it was the best place to be for his final weeks. All the staff, from cleaners to management, were so friendly, helpful and caring. My father was treated with empathy and respect, he felt very happy with the care he was given. Knowing my father was being looked after so well meant a lot to us and I wish to thank everyone at Abundant Grace for making such a sad time so much easier. I will never forget the care my father received and have no hesitation in recommending them as an excellent choice of Nursing Home.
I cannot thank Abundant Grace enough for taking in my dad at such short notice. The respect and care he received during his last few months was exceptional. Whenever I visited I always felt welcomed by their friendly staff. Whatever my dad needed they went out of their way to fulfill his needs to help make him comfortable and happy as possible. Thanks to all at Abundant Grace.
I'd highly recommend Abundant Grace. There's such a lovely caring feel about the place. All the staff I've met are lovely and friendly. The garden is a beautiful place to be and the rooms are very warm, clean and comfortable and my uncle always enjoys the food. Thank you for looking after my uncle so nicely it means a great deal.
My mum spent a few weeks towards the end of her life at Abundant Grace. She passed away on the 22nd October 2019 in total peace and comfort and was very well looked after by ALL at AG. All I can say is I wish we had found this lovely home earlier. Thanks to all at AG for your kind and thoughtful support during a very difficult time and for making my mum's last few weeks as comfortable as possible.
I can only say that I wish we had found Abundant Grace earlier. My dad was treated with great kindness, respect and as a person, not a job. We had dad's birthday celebration in the Orangery which accommodated about 20 of us and were provided with never-ending tea, coffee and soft drinks. A wonderful place set in beautiful grounds and staffed with compassionate, well-trained staff.
It was very unfortunate that my mother only lived a very short time at end of life at Abundance Grace. However, in the short time she was there, the staff were without exception, loving and so very caring in looking after my mum in her last few hours with such love and care. Having great respect for her dignity and making sure she was pain-free. The manager was amazing and should be very proud of every one of her staff, I can only of wished that Eastbourne Hospital had discharged my mum earlier so that her stay at Abundant Grace had been longer.
My relative, who has early onset Alzheimer's, has been so well and considerately cared for at the home. At first, she was much involved with the many stimulating activities; as the disease developed she may have lost interest in many of these, but she has remained content, and I have been so impressed with the degree of care she receives. It has been such a relief for me to know how well she is, in a compassionate and dignified manner, and I am continually impressed with the degree of care and compassion shown by all staff. I have also been impressed with the way in which the home keeps in touch with me. The home itself is well decorated and furnished with stimulating paintings, photographs of film stars, and scenic murals. The EMI unit has such a carefully designed shape, and the room is light and spacious with its en-suite facilities.
Every time I enter the home, I am met with a friendly greeting. It feels more like a hotel than a home for the elderly. Staff always pleasant, nothing is ever too much trouble for any of them. It's always clean. Couldn't have found a better place than this for my Dad. Thank you.
