View Full Details of Barchester Ashchurch ViewMy friend has treated with great care, dignity and respect. Any assistance needed was quickly at hand. Staff were always ready to help respond to questions and give time to listen to questions or requests for assistance. The compassionate care when my friend died was a great comfort to me.
The care, sensitivity, compassion and empathy for our dear friend & her elderly companion were outstanding.
Mum moved in after discharge from hospital. She had had two strokes and two falls and been very poorly. It was sad to realise she could no longer live independently at home. Ashchurch View was recommended to me, and I am so glad it was! Despite not wanting to go into residential care my mum had settled in within a few days and now, five weeks later she is really happy and calls it her forever home. The venue is spotlessly clean and the meals a very high standard. But most importantly is the quality of the care and nursing staff. My mum loves every one of the team that take care of her. They are kind, friendly, warm and compassionate. Mum says she feels so safe and secure and doesn't need to worry about anything as it's all done for her. There are activities and clubs twice a day so already mum has made new friends. As for me, well I have peace of mind knowing mum is being supported and cared for by people she likes and in a place that is beautiful, warm and safe.
A very good care home, well looked after and beautifully decorated. Dad has been looked after with very high standard of care. Staff are very happy, smiling and always very helpful, would recommend Barchester Ashchurch View.
Warm welcoming and friendly positive vibes! Tiny suggestions: - Food is good - but could be a bit warmer - Staff are lovely but resident wishes they could come quicker when button is pressed. - If possible please encourage father in law to interact with activities/spend time in the lounge. Thank you for looking after my father in law.
Barchester Ashchurch View had been my dad's first choice when he was a resident in York suite and his experience over two years, when support was needed, was exemplary and this became my first choice when my husband needed to have care for dementia. The staff are so caring, patient, cheerful and encouraging. They respect people's dignity and show great empathy for their feelings. There are plenty of activities on offer to stimulate interests and skills and the food is so tasty with plenty of choice. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and homely and all the nostalgic memory objects and pictures are reassuring and comforting. There are plenty of areas to visit in perfect safety within the unit too, giving space and privacy.
I've only been here a short while but I am quite sure I'' be happy here. I cannot fault the staff, they are all very kind and caring and will do anything for you. In all, I think this is a very nice care home.
I only came here at the beginning of December, so far, so good, I'm very pleased with everything. Staff are very helpful and kind. Food is good, plenty of activities but you're not pushed to join in anything if you don't want to.
Thank you for taking in and caring for my dad, who passed away two months after moving in, and continuing to care for my stepmum.
Mum's welcome was good for her to start eight weeks respite. All went well, Mum was placed next to the nurses station due to a lot of falls. Mum hasn't complained about any of the staff. Very attentive and ready for a joke and a laugh. The eight weeks have taken Mum time to relax and get to know the staff and the same for them. We, as a family, hope Mum can stay here and we know she is being well looked after.
Couldn't have chosen a better place for my mother's palliative care. All the staff have made her so welcome, it has a lovely atmosphere, beautifully decorated, clean and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent, they cater for all requirements. My mother is happy and as comfortable as she can be, the nursing staff are really looking after her.
Wonderful event organised by the lovely team yesterday. A (sizeable) group of motorbike enthusiasts and club members gathered outside Barchester Ashchurch View and allowed the residents to view/chat and even sit on a beautiful bike! (The latter being my mum!) Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon. Thank you to all who organised the event (including teas and cake makers.)
If the time comes when I need care in a nursing home, this is where I would like to be. Some would say that the only reason is that the food is good but every aspect of the care is excellent. Every member of staff gave my sister-in-law the very best of attention and treated her with dignity when she died.
My father has lived at Ashchurch for four years and always says he is well looked after and the staff look after him well.
Mum has been a resident at Ashchurch View Nursing Home for about four years. She is very settled and well cared for. Nursing staff are very approachable, the unit is well run. The home is always very clean, and meals are varied and enjoyed by the residents. Dietary requirements are catered for.
The staff are very friendly, kind and supportive. My sister's care has been excellent, with staff recognising and providing for her increasing needs during her stay.
My mum stayed at Barchester Ashchurch View twice recently following discharge from hospital and before going home. Thank you to all the team who cared for her, responding to requests quickly. It was really helpful to have nursing care available and such a willing, friendly group of carers. She appreciated being able to meet friends in the coffee area where they could help themselves to a drink and even cake! The catering was good. Great that there is also an attractive courtyard to use on sunny days. Thank you everyone!
Mum was welcomed for respite care at Barchester Ashchurch View at short notice on a Saturday evening following a hospital stay. After just a few days, Mum felt she had put down roots and praised the staff for their kindness. Mum's room looked out onto a pretty, quiet courtyard and was in the nursing wing. Mum enjoyed the comings and goings of the nursing wing. We found the home well-led, all the staff we met were caring and appeared aware of their roles and responsibilities. We only saw one meal that Mum ate - portion was good, menu was balanced. The cakes in the cafe were always fresh and tasty!
Very caring staff.
A very welcoming and inclusive home. Accommodating and encouraging. Staff are helpful to both residents and families - a lovely atmosphere. Lots of activities available, but no pressure on residents. Mum feels very much at home.
