View Full Details of Woodville HouseOur journey with Woodville started July 2023, when we had to make the difficult decision to place my mother-in-law into the care of Woodville. It was and still is the best decision we made for her and she agrees also. I cannot say enough about the care Mom receives from the staff. Because we do not live in the area, they always keep us informed about how she is doing, we receive pictures of some of the many activities that they have going on and I have even joined in. Mom celebrated her 101st Birthday in October, the staff arranged a wonderful Birthday celebration for her, she even had a visit with "Elvis" and 2 local community police officers and The Mayor of Rugby dropped in. Thank you to ALL staff, for taking such good care of Mom and for making Woodville not just a house but a home for her.
Sadly we have recently lost our beloved mum. Mum lived at Woodville House for about 18 months. We are taking great comfort that she was in such a lovely place for the last months of her life. The reaction of the care staff when Mum passed showed everything to us. It showed how much they genuinely cared for her. They really do an amazing job looking after all the residents, it is not an easy job. The home became our home too and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. It is small and homely, they provide activities and arrange lovely things for the residents, and the home-cooked food is fantastic. The manager has been with us on this journey and has been a fantastic support all the way through. I would recommend this care home to anyone.
Dad is looked after with great care and dignity and enjoys the interaction with staff. Coming from an assisted living flat where he only saw people on a care or maintenance basis generally. His mental and interaction welfare has massively improved. Many thanks for that! Plans are all in full swing for his '1st' birthday at Woodville House. Can't wait to see the big grin that will be plastered on his face when it comes to the day. Thanks again Woodville.
Come to visit our aunt. The staff are very friendly, helpful and the communal space is clean and tidy. Lovely place from what we have seen and experienced today.
Great activities, lovely staff. So inclusive of the family and offering a fun and warm environment.
Amazing place with lots of activities for the people that live here. Staff really friendly.
Woodville House and all the staff are truly amazing. My Mother has been in residence since July 2022 and although I was apprehensive at first at having to place her in permanent residence, Woodville for mom feels like home. Mom always tells me they take very good care of her and I have seen for myself that they do. If I have any concerns I am always able to talk to the Team for updates and only today saw pictures of an activity Mom was participating in. In October of last year, Mom turned 100 years young. Woodville blew me away with organizing a wonderful birthday buffet, mayor visit, and entertainment. The celebration continued for the weekend. Mom said she was treated like a princess and talks about it to this day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do.
The staff really get to know the residents and try to do all they can to make it as close to home as possible. If anything happens they keep the family up to date and arrange all necessary medical care. I would recommend Woodville House as a home being small and intimate where everyone is known to each other.
My Dad has received excellent care from the staff at Woodville House during the eighteen months that he's been there. He always comments on how good the food is and that he is well cared for. The place is clean and tidy with regular activities going on for the residents to take part in. When I visit Dad the staff are always very welcoming and friendly. The manager always has the time to update me on how Dad has been and with any issues or any concerns that may have arisen. All in all I would highly recommend Woodville House. Many thanks to all the staff. Your care for Dad is very reassuring to us all.
I am overwhelmed with the level of care provided since my father was admitted to Woodville House Care Home. The kindness and professionalism displayed has been outstanding, the manager makes customer service look easy and natural. The decision was made for Dad to be admitted to Woodville, this was followed up with a call from the manager to introduce herself and advise us if I needed anything at all to not hesitate to ask. When Dad was transferred, again she called for advice of this. We visited Woodville in the afternoon and were offered tea and biscuits in the lounge, what a warm welcome. Dad looked happy and content which is a miracle in itself! We had entertainment in the afternoon a lovely mother and daughter singing act which was truly lovely! Both Mom and Dad engaged and enjoyed a sing-along. We went to settle Dad into his room, his room is lovely, again nothing was too much trouble, we asked and it is given! The icing on the cake was his cooked breakfast this morning with fried bread. Outstanding!
I attended a lovely Christmas party for the family and residents of Woodville House. The event was so well run, with all the residents and guests having a lovely time. The staff had made such an effort to create a wonderful atmosphere.
My grandad has been a resident at Woodville House for a year now, the place has a lovely homely feel to it and the staff can’t do enough for all the residents, he loves the entertainment and always mentions how good the food is! We recently attended a summer party and could tell how much effort the staff had put in to make it enjoyable for all, we had a great afternoon, thanks again Woodville!
The staff are lovely and caring and looked after both my parents for the last seven years. Food is appropriate and of good quality and residents have regular entertainment/outings as well as quiet time when needed. Liaison with outside bodies is good when necessary. Residents are safe at all times and treated with patience and dignity.
Looking for suitable convalescence homes, I found a room for my sister in Woodville House, at the beginning of June. My fiercely independent sister agreed to go for 7 to 10 days, to recover after a hospital stay. She is still there and regularly extending her stay, by longer and longer periods. First impressions do count and we felt sure that my sister would find both the exterior and interior of the home interesting and attractive. We were proved right - she looked around approvingly and, not seeing the usual modern and minimalist appearance of large new homes, was instantly attracted by the decor, which, she maintained, was very suitable for a period building. We breathed a sigh of relief, as she was not well enough to live at home alone, even with 4 daily carers. The Staff have won her heart, with their gentle, kind, thoughtful behaviour and, have won her confidence by their professional knowledge and skills. Her mobility, appetite and health have greatly improved. Thank you All!
My dad has been living very happily here now for 14 months and I would like to take this opportunity to review Woodville House again. For dad, it is a real home from home with more of the ambience of a lovely small hotel than a care home. It’s extremely well run by a caring team of dedicated staff and we could not wish for better care for dad. The food is varied, plentiful and of a very high standard and the entertainment is excellent. It’s clear to see that the staff go above and beyond to care for dad and all the other residents.
After a period of adjustment, my mother, at last, appears to be settling in at Woodville House. Her carers have been patient and kind to her and have strived hard to build a supportive relationship within her new environment. The manager has at all times exhibited a friendly ‘can do’ approach and has been particularly accommodating of my mother’s needs. Woodville House is a first-class residential home led by an intuitive and innovative manager who is keen to develop positive relationships with residents' families. Carers demonstrate a kind, patient, caring and friendly approach to their residents supported by a homely atmosphere. They have encouraged my mother to sustain her independence as far as she is able. I only have good things to say about Woodville House and am happy that my mother has been made to feel at home within this environment.
Our Mum was in Woodville House after being discharged for assessment from the hospital. This home feels that it has previously been a hotel that has had minimal money spent on it to make a few alterations to accommodate the residents. Mum was continuously dressed in other residents' clothing and at times looked unwashed. The staff were never regular faces except for a few and none of them were trained to help people with dementia. As a family, we witnessed a few incidents where carers used inappropriate language and behaviour towards the residents (such as moaning under their breath and hoping that some of them would be going home soon). My mum had a handbag that went missing and I asked numerous times where it was, I was told that they were going to have a meeting as a few things had gone missing, but never got any feedback and we will never know what happened to it. It feels like the home is just muddling through one day at a time.
This was a halfway stay for my wife after an unsafe discharge from the hospital after a fall at home. My wife has mixed dementia and needs calm and peace. Woodville House has residents, dementia sufferers and residents needing nursing. They are all crammed together in an old hotel. There was no private space, even for a visit. This is not suitable for dementia sufferers.
Staff are all very pleasant and helpful.
My husband resides at Woodville House after being in hospital for many weeks after a stroke paralysed him from the waist down. He is being helped to recover here. I visit him every day and am encouraged to do so. I am always met with a smiling face and a cup of tea and biscuits. My husband has exacting standards and has complex medical needs. He is treated with great respect, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. If I have any concerns, I can discuss those with the Home Manager, who is very helpful and caring for his every need. I am exceptionally pleased with his care in these trying times.
