View Full Details of The Wolds Care CentreMy mother has recently passed away at The Wolds Nursing and Care Centre. It is testimony to the kindness and care that she enjoyed over 5 years as a resident. We, as a family of a resident, always felt well communicated with and were always welcomed by members of staff as though we were entering into a home environment. We can't thank the staff enough.
Fantastic. Dad settled very quickly, was made to feel very welcome from the moment he arrived. Beautiful room onto the garden. Lovely and warm with own bathroom. Staff are all so lovely and kind. Resident and family all made to feel at ease. Lovely to see everyone smiling and happy.
My father spent the 4 weeks of August here on end-of-life care before he sadly passed away. From the first phone call I fell in love with the care home and staff. The front-of-house staff are very welcoming, helpful and reassuring. They are knowledgeable and more than happy to listen and help if they can. The rooms are spacious and clean, nicely decorated and have everything you need. I was able to bring my father's own rise reclining chair and fill his room with photos. My father was on Wyekham unit, all of the staff on this unit are fantastic. They took the time to get to know my father and took amazing care of him. He loved each one of his angels. Their care and attitude towards him allowed him to pickup for a short time and enjoy the last few weeks of his life, he even started eating and loved the food. They took amazing care of the family, their care and compassion will be remembered, this made what is a very difficult time a little easier to deal with. Thank you to Dad's angels.
We are so pleased and grateful for all the help and care. We have been overwhelmed with the support we have had during a difficult time. They have cared for both us as a family and my mum as if we were their own family.
My mum came to The Wolds for a week's respite and then two weeks later became a permanent resident. We cannot praise the staff enough. My mum has settled in so quickly and been cared for so well. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff in the home. From the cleaners, maintenance man, care staff, team leaders, administrators, activities staff, Deputy Home Manager and Home Manager they have all been amazing. The activities in the home are varied and well-organised.
The resident was admitted to the Wolds due to being unsafe at home. Shortly after admittance, she suffered a stroke and later a mini stroke, lost use of one side of her body and speech. The staff are excellent and her care to date has been good. Sadly, her room is small and there doesn't seem to be any way to rearrange it. Being bedridden, it would be good if the room could allow her to look outside and see something other than the walls. I have spoken to management and as soon as a suitable room becomes available, this will be addressed. Most importantly, she is cared for well to date.
My mother has been a resident for over 2 years and the overall feeling is that she is treated like a loved member of the family. She is treated with dignity and respect and loves all the activities. We are always welcomed when we visit and leave knowing she is well taken care of.
A huge thank you to all the staff at Wolds View for caring so well for my dad in the final week of his life. Admitted from hospital to the home and as a family we couldn’t have asked for more. His room was lovely and everyone from the receptionists to the day and night nurses couldn’t have been kinder. Although Dad was only there for a week before we sadly lost him, he, me and his wife were so grateful for the compassionate and supportive way they looked after dad and cared for him and us. We couldn’t have asked for better - thank you.
We chose this care home due to the reviews and closest to ours and my mother's home. We were shown around the home and the room that was allocated to my mum and initial thoughts were good. However there were patients wandering about who clearly were suffering from some form of dementia but we had been told there was a separate ward for this type of illness, this appeared not to be the case. Whilst my mum was staying there she rang us in the middle of the night to say she was laying in puddles of a wet substance and no one had answered her call bell to see to her needs. I personally witnessed call bells going for more than 7 minutes and there didn’t seem to be any staff about to answer these. I also witnessed at least 3 patients on the ward who appeared to have some form of dementia, walking up and down shouting and swearing and also screaming at a very high pitch! A bad experience that people should note before making the decision to use this facility.
My grandad recently stayed at The Wolds Care Centre for a few months, the room was spacious, immaculate and decorated beautifully. The manager is an absolutely lovely lady very welcoming always around chatting with residents and families offering them refreshments and snacks. She is very polite and well mannered always available if needed, my grandad loved her and has missed her since leaving. All the care staff were amazing and couldn’t have done more for him. The activities staff were amazing, a wide range of activities so everyone could join in. The staff at reception/admin were lovely always polite and welcoming, always offering refreshments and cakes. They were also happy to answer questions or help where they could. 10 out of 10 fantastic care homes, glad we chose them for my grandad's stay.
Fantastic care is given to mum, I must say there are carers who go above and beyond to make mum comfortable and happy. Overall, good service is provided by the staff. Warm and welcoming even finding time to make a cuppa for you. Can not fault the standard of the care home.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at The Wolds Care Home. They looked after my dad very recently. He was terminally ill and sadly was only at The Wolds for 3 days before he died but he was so happy there. As soon as he arrived he said he was home. He liked his room and enjoyed the food. The staff were so lovely and cared for him so well during his short stay and also, after he had died. They were very respectful to him. The care given prior and after will stay with us forever. My mum was cared for at The Wolds 3 years ago. We were more than happy with the care she received and so was my dad. When the time came for dad needing nursing care, it was an easy decision for us to make as to where he was going. He was more than happy to know he was going to The Wolds. We can't recommend it enough. The staff are amazing. Thank you to you all for your kindness and the nursing care given to both our parents.
What can I say? Just that The Wolds has just the most marvellous team of people, to whom we entrusted the care of our Mum in her last years of life. Until her recent death, my very elderly mother received top-quality care and attention. Sadly, she was totally immobile and bedridden for many months. Amazingly she never had a bedsore, was turned regularly, and I never saw her without feeling joy that she was in fresh clothing, hair brushed and the bedroom/bathroom was immaculate, in fact, just as she would have liked it! Thank you all for caring for my sometimes very feisty mum, and always having time, consideration and above all, kindness for her and the family. I cannot recommend The Wolds highly enough and I, and the family, will always be grateful.
I have nothing but praise for The Wolds Care Centre. My father has Alzheimer’s and has been at The Wolds for nearly a year now. He is very happy and is beautifully looked after by all the caring and compassionate staff. The reception team are lovely, friendly and kind. The home is modern and immaculate and feels more like a smart hotel rather than a care home, in fact, I think my Dad feels he is in a 5-star hotel! The food certainly is varied and excellent. There are lots of activities and I am very happy to follow what is going on with their Facebook page, it does help families feel more involved especially during these Covid times. My biggest praise is reserved for the manager who is so approachable, understanding and compassionate. I have recently been dealing with my father's divorce and she has been such a huge help to me in an upsetting situation. I can’t thank her enough for her support.
Thank you for your excellent care during COVID-19 lockdown from mid-March 2020 which included helping my mum celebrate her 96th birthday in June 2020, using e-based resources and printed material I provided, to help her connect with distant and fading memories. Also thank you for the flexibility over the last 12 consecutive days, during my end of life visits of movies, music, reading and peace/quiet. I would particularly like to thank the excellent staff in the Elkington Unit who have taken the time and trouble to connect with my mum over many years. The care in 2020 has been consistent with the care since my mum arrived in September 2013. The home has always succeeded in raising the bar in terms of wellbeing which includes social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical activity. The home has always been welcoming to me as a visitor. I wish the care home the very best for the future.
My mum only had four months at The Wolds. I knew that Mum would die there as she was terminally ill. All the staff were very kind and caring towards Mum and showed great compassion to myself and my family. It was understandably a very emotional time for myself as I slowly watched the independent, confident and capable woman that my mum was, slowly slip away. I was with Mum when she took her last breath and I will always be so very grateful to the nurse who rang and asked me to get in there quickly as Mum's breathing had suddenly changed. I arrived at 5:30 pm and Mum died at 11pm. All the staff that night were most caring and gave me the time I needed to get myself together. Thank you so much to all staff and especially the manager for always being there when I needed a good cry.
Until her recent very peaceful passing my close friend had spent 7 happy and comfortable years in The Wolds. At all times she felt safe, secure and content in an environment that she regarded as her home and the staff as her extended family. I have nothing but praise for every aspect of the care and attention she received during her time there. I too was treated respectfully and fully consulted when any aspects of care needed to be discussed.
My aunt spent over 6 years at The Wolds Care Centre and was happy and contented from the start. I was her only relative and lived a long way from Louth, but on my first visit, I saw that she was in excellent hands. She made good very friends there and the facilities are excellent. On the times I visited all residents appeared relaxed and contended. The home is exceptionally clean and an atmosphere of security and genuine care is clear to see. I have visited and looked at many homes over the years for several relatives in different countries - The Wolds by far exceeds them all.
After a massive stroke twelve months ago followed by nine weeks in hospital, my husband was transferred to The Wolds Care Centre last March. At the time the right hand side of his body was very weak, he was fed by stomach tube (PEG) as he couldn't swallow and only able to be moved safely with use of a hoist. Initially very confused, he soon became more settled and gradually started to make progress. With the help of therapists and staff at the home he improved rapidly and was soon able to walk again, his swallowing became normal and he became more like the man I used to know. A fortnight ago he moved home. Apart from using a stick outdoors, having help with his medication and speech therapy, he is able to cope well with daily life without assistance or aids. We are both convinced that his amazing recovery is thanks to The Wolds for caring for him in such a wonderful way and to all the dedicated staff who did everything to help, support and encourage him. We are very grateful to you all!
I am so grateful to The Wolds. My sister has been there 3 years now, she has received such good care from such wonderful and caring staff. Thank you, everyone!
