View Full Details of Monkscroft Care CentreSince arriving at Monkscroft my wife has been really well looked after and is generally happy after a sudden illness in November 2024. Our thanks to a GREAT STAFF.
I thank the lord every single day for the care, love and support that the staff not only give to my mum who is a resident there, but to me too. I am my mum's daughter again! I am crying as I write this review because without Monkscroft Care Centre I would have been lost. They are amazing people. Thank you, God bless you all.
The care home had been transformed into a winter wonderland. It all looked magical, from the porch to the entrance hall and lounges. They captured the excitement and joy of the season. The entertainment was excellent with visits from local schools and chorus. My friend was able to invite his brothers to the pre-Christmas party and his disabled son was invited to spend Christmas Day with his dad. This visit meant so much to both of them. The staff ensured they both had a very special time. The staff went that extra mile to ensure everyone celebrated in music, fun, food and friendship.
Staff at Monkscroft once again made Christmas a special time, gave gifts and spread happiness among the residents. Most notably, family members were included in the Christmas dinner, where they had booked in advance. The opportunity to join a family member at the dinner table on Christmas Day was most unusual and very much appreciated. Mum's day was very much happier for it. The food was excellent, and we even had a choice, Mum chose the salmon, which was moist and delicious. The cook deserves a commendation for cooking for so many people and providing such excellent fayre. Many thanks to all concerned, especially in the kitchen.
As soon as I walked into Monkscroft Care Centre, the atmosphere was wonderful. Receptionist was helpful and explained where we needed to go. Everywhere was clean, tidy and organised. The room my aunt was in was spacious laid out well and I felt this was a lovely place to be. All staff I met in the times I visited were kind, caring and were happy to assist my aunt and us as her visitors. A wonderful experience, thank you.
I cannot say enough about everything about this care centre. The family are over the moon that she is here. The care and compassion to the residents, it is exceptional. All I can say is this centre is like a hotel.
We were so lucky to find Monkscroft Care Centre! Mum had always said 'Put me on the ground before you put me in a home' and the plan was for her to live with me or my sister, but illness and the NHS took us in a different direction and the outset of Covis in 2020 made it a necessity to become permanent. Thank goodness as the 24/7 care she receives far outstrips what I could have provided. Staff are great, all the facilities good and the company and engagement are really important. After a very difficult life, Mum is in the comfortable homely place she deserves. Thank you.
When I went to view Monkscroft I knew this was the place my husband would be looked after with respect and care. The care is outstanding, the activities are amazing. I also feel supported along our journey. I cannot thank you enough. All the staff are amazing, friendly with endless patience.
Monkscroft is a wonderful home for my 90-year-old mum. Mum wanted to spend her final years at home but her needs became too great for her children to care for her in the ways she needed despite her daughters being nurses. Mum has settled in so well and all the staff are amazing, professional, knowledgeable and so kind. Monkscroft is the perfect place for my mum to be cared for in the ways that she and her family would wish for. Thank you!
Entrusting a family member to a care home is undoubtedly one of the most daunting decisions one can face. However, Monkscroft alleviates these concerns by providing an environment that feels like the best possible home for my mother. The centre exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff's dedication and genuine care are immediately evident. They are incredibly friendly and always ready to offer reassurance, ensuring that my mother is treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Initially, I harbored doubts and concerns about my mother staying at Monkscroft due to her complex needs. Yet, upon my arrival, it became clear that the staff are fully trained to provide the support. They consistently go above their duties, offering a level of care that leaves you with complete peace of mind, knowing she is in exceptionally capable hands. I highly recommend Monkscroft to anyone considering care options. Don't hesitate; it is the best decision you can make for their well-being.
I arrived at Monkscroft Care Centre in March on a stretcher from the hospital. I was paralysed from the waist down, incontinent and I could not wash myself. I could also not talk. I remember being taken into a lovely clean room, comfortable bed, shower and toilet with a lovely view looking out onto vegetation. Everybody (carers) was so kind to me and never ever complained about incontinence in bed which is really a ghastly job. At the time when I arrived, I was left alone but everybody kept a good eye on me. As I recovered I was able to talk to the carers. They would tell me about themselves, what nationality they were and where they came from which I found was so interesting. The manager was amazing. She listened endlessly to any problems and encouraged me. She had soul and was so kind like everyone else. My friend who used to come and visit me said no other person would have put up with the likes of me and my untidy husband who used to leave a trail of biscuits around the room. I eventually left and now live at home and made a full recovery. I walk and talk endlessly, and danced a festival until 4 in the morning. I have a good appetite and am back in love with my husband. Without Monkscroft it would never have been possible.
My mum was admitted for 2 weeks respite following increasing difficulties with activities of daily living due to frailty. She is a private but friendly lady - enjoying a balance of time to herself with conversations and company. Within a few days of her visit she decided that she wanted to stay permanently. Besides the setting and facilities her key reason for making the decision is the wonderful team of nurses and carers. She tells us regularly that every single member of staff is lovely. I have no doubt in recommending to others.
The care and attention of the staff at Monkscroft is amazing. They have all helped the family adjust to a situation that is difficult to cope with and accept. The care of my husband is exemplary. He enjoys the activities that he is able to join in with and seems very content. It is a pleasure to visit Monkscroft.
Great experience. Lovely staff. Made my grandpa very welcome - couldn't have asked for more.
We have been so reassured at every stage that my dad has been here. He seems so content and the staff are continually watching to make sure all his needs are being met. There are great activities and it is very much a home from home where we can visit at any time and take in our assorted pets! Dad looks very well cared for and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you.
Since my dad has been in Monkscroft with vascular dementia, he has been looked after with the greatest respect. The staff are so kind and friendly to my dad and his family. My dad can be very difficult at times but the staff including the cleaners and admin are fantastic with him. We could have moved Dad to a care home nearer to us but the care he receives in Monkcroft is fantastic.
From the moment we arranged for Dad to go into the Care Home, the staff have been amazing. Taking in details of what Dad's interests were so he had some familiar points of reference. From care staff, receptionists, admin staff, nurses and managers and anyone we have come into contact with has made the emotionally difficult process so much easier. Dad is very content and there is no doubt it is the welcoming environment he is in that has made that possible. Monkscroft is highly recommended.
The current access system is awful. We arrive at the main door only to have to wait over 20 minutes to gain access. This is an unacceptable time frame and takes time away from being with family members. This needs to be reviewed in my opinion.
Whenever I visit, I am always greeted with a cheerful reception. My sister is well looked after and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The other residents are managed well and are provided with their needs.
I would like to say the manager and deputy manager have been so kind to me and helped me so much with whatever issues or questions I have had. They are amazing. I was left very upset after a meeting with the nurse, but this morning, the manager and deputy manager spent time with me, discussing it. They couldn't have been kinder and more helpful if they tried and were concerned I had been so upset.
