View Full Details of Brook House Nursing HomeMy mother-in-law has been a resident for nearly four years since a fall that fractured her hip. Her dementia is slowly progressing and she is now mid stage. She has been very well cared for by the staff who are very good and patient with her. I would recommend this as a great place with plenty of activities and entertainment which keep all the residents engaged. From the manager down everyone is approachable and happy to help in any way.
Mum is extremely well looked after by all the carers and the nursing staff, considering her mid stage dementia. There are lots of activities and entertainment for the residents which Mum enjoys. It's the best place for her to be and the family are really happy that she's there.
Mum has been a resident at Brook House for almost 3 years. During that time I have been impressed with the kindness & care shown to her. She can be difficult to deal with at times but their patience & attention is very appreciated.
Wonderful, beautiful home for my mother. Everybody who works there is happy, helpful and kind. Facilities are perfect from TV room, dining room down to the library. Nice activities organised from knitting to readings and TV room. Mother's own room always clean and tidy. Thank you everyone. P.S. and good taxi service organised when required.
Very happy with all aspects of my wife's care.
This is based on my friend's first month at Brook House Nursing Home hens the three "good" ratings are really "don't know yet"! Brook House has made this an, overall, excellent experience from my very first contact. Professional, friendly and caring throughout and the atmosphere is caring and relaxed, helping my friend to settle in well.
My mother started her residency in August 2023. All of the staff I have interacted with are helpful and caring. This especially applies to the nurses and reception staff who I have most interaction with. The home, itself, appears clean however there are clearly signs that the property requires some maintenance. Other relatives of residents have mentioned that the furniture in some rooms is in poor condition and requires replacing but that is not my experience with my mother. I recently attended a meeting with the new manager and senior nurse who went through plans for improvements to the property and general care of residents in terms of activities, food etc. It all sounded positive and time will tell if those plans are put in place. I have no doubts that improvements can be made but that being said, my mother is treated well and looked after properly. The only issues have been with occasional friction with other residents which is difficult to manage in that type of environment.
My mother moved into Brook House Nursing Home a few months ago and we have been really pleased and grateful for the quality of care she has received from the whole team. It was a stressful transition for my mother and she continues to struggle from time to time. The staff have handled this very professionally and with compassion, which has been really appreciated. The home is clean and well-maintained, which is another positive aspect. There are ancillary services such as hairdressing available, as well as dedicated staff who manage daily activities, including outings. Communication with relatives is excellent. Staff are very accessible and are always prompt with their responses. Overall, the home and staff give you a great deal of confidence that your loved one is being well looked after and that has been reflected in all our dealings with them. It really does give you peace of mind for what is always a worrying process. I would highly recommend Brook House to everyone.
I have always found the staff to be very caring and professional and look after my sister very well.
I'm not happy with my condition (health) but the care and support are excellent to me and my family and helps me keep positive. My room is lovely and I especially enjoy the access to my garden via my room. The reception welcome is absolutely brilliant and I am regularly informed of things happening in the home.
My mother received excellent care. Everyone from the nursing staff, healthcare assistants, catering and cleaning all were so helpful and friendly. The home is spotlessly clean.
My mother was first introduced to Brook House Nursing Home in early 2020 during the covid period. She was made to feel welcome and safe even in lockdown where residents and loved ones had a challenging time, including the marvellous staff. The Alzheimer’s disease had taken her before she became a resident and Brook House took time to comfort her and make her feel comfortable and special. The staff and especially her one-to-one carer cared for her in the most loving way, and brightened up what was a very challenging time for her. The whole family would like to say a big thank you to the whole Brook House team for the love and affection shown to my mother right up to the day she left us.
My mum has been in the care home for some time. She is well looked after and very happy. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. They try and get all the residents to join in with activities.
A beautiful home, providing excellent care throughout difficult times. Friendly, warm and caring staff who treat residents with dignity and compassion.
I am very impressed with the staff and care given to the residents. A very secure building while feeling open and friendly. I first visited a friend about 9 or 10 years ago when Brook House was built. The improvements to the building have been very good. One of the best homes in the area. Thanks to everyone involved.
Mum seems happy and her needs are adequately taken care of. The food for lunch seems to lack variety but the food that is served is of good quality.
My father who has severe dementia and was also recently diagnosed with terminal cancer has been at Brook House Nursing Home for almost 5 years. I really could not recommend highly enough how good this care home is to anyone else in the difficult decision of looking for a home for their loved one. All the staff at Brook House Nursing Home are absolutely amazing and show such care, compassion and love to all the residents. They are always looking at ways to entertain and engage the residents and provide a safe and open and inclusive environment and myself and all my family are always made to feel so welcome when we visit. The home is also very well maintained and kept clean and the garden area is always really well looked after, but most importantly I really do feel my father feels safe here and is treated with dignity and loved by all the staff that take care of him.
Mum had a lovely stay here. Her mental health has stayed the same since she was admitted. Very friendly and professional. Very nice party for the Jubilee. Mum is treated with respect and dignity. I feel like some residents could be taken for a walk maybe or a trip out.
My dad is very well cared for and looked after by the home. He is comfortable in his room. The home is well managed and if I have any concerns, I know I can raise this with the manager. He listens and explains things well. Would recommend this home to another family.
My husband has advanced dementia, he has been in Brook House Nursing Home for four years. I have nothing but praise for the care he has received whilst a resident there, the staff are wonderful and the care, love and respect they show him is second to none. My daughters and I are so grateful to all the staff at Brook House Nursing Home for all their hard work at all times, especially during the pandemic. The home is well run and always welcoming and I know my husband is happy there and feels safe.
