View Full Details of Barchester Werrington Lodge Care HomeAlways go in weekly to see my nana and take her over the reception side for tea and beautifully made cakes made by the chef. The brownies are delicious and shortcake is the best. Think more activity would be good.
The staff are amazing - always cheerful and helpful. Lovely atmosphere in the home and very welcoming.
A brilliant care home, from the cleaners to the catering staff to the careers and nurses, so loving and caring, always with a smile, you came out the home with a sense of calm knowing they are being cared for. We, as a family, felt like their family, we had support and love from every member of staff and we are so grateful for them. My mother-in-law loved being in there which made us so happy, we sadly lost her but will be going back to see the staff there as they are all so amazing and now part of our family. We couldn't have wished for her to be anywhere else in her final days, they are so amazing.
I couldn't speak highly enough of the care, kindness and support the whole team at Barchester Werrington Lodge Care Home had for my family and especially, my beautiful grandmother. They always went the extra mile and nothing was too much effort for them. Always smiling and chatty. They treated my grandmother with all of the love and respect any family member would want for their loved one. I'm forever grateful to all the staff at the Barchester.
My nan spent the last few months of her life in Barchester Werrington Lodge Care Home, with having Stage 4 terminal cancer and dementia. As a family, we are so grateful to all the amazing staff at Werrington Lodge for looking after our loved one as brilliantly as they did. To the chefs, the nurses, the cleaners, the carers, events coordinators and the people greeting you at reception. Every single one of them work in this care home purely because they all truly care for these people and it shines through every day. We honestly feel so blessed that we found this absolute gem of a care home for our very much loved nan. Every single member of staff deserve a massive pat on the back and I hope they all know just what a difference they make every day. Thank you for everything Werrington Lodge Care Home. Nothing was ever too much and we will never forget any of you. The care home has lovely bedrooms, beautiful lounges with vast space. Very homely.
On entry, it is so calming and peaceful, everyone made Mum so welcome. Rooms are beautiful and clean, cleaned every day. Nurses on hand 100% of the day to deal with all issues, if they can't solve it straight on the phone to doctor. Food is excellent with lots of choices and even cooked things special if you didn't want what was on the menu. Even I was offered food every day. No matter how many times the bed was soiled, they would change it immediately and they were so gentle, reassuring her all the way. The manager came to see me every day to see how she was and if any issues. View from the window was amazing, lots of wildlife. Activities galore, at least three every day, on and off site. They took her laundry every day and brought back next day freshly washed and ironed. I haven't regretted for a day that I did wrong putting Mum there. She was only here for three weeks before passing away but they made her last few weeks what we asked for which was calm, comfortable and pain-free. I applaud you all, you all work tirelessly 100% and what a wonderful team you all are, pulling together and helping each other out.
I was very unsure of how the care home system worked but the lady from admin and the manager were very supportive from day one. The admin lady, with her wonderful smile and empathy, managed to put me at ease and explained everything as we went along. Every time I've visited my father, I've noticed the manager speaks and greets everyone - staff, residents or family. These two ladies are one of the reasons I picked Barchester Werrington Lodge for my father. The home is spotless and the food smells delicious. I haven't tried it but I have had one of the delicious shortbreads in reception.
Mum has settled in well and is enjoying her stay at Werrington Lodge. Mum feels she is involved with activities, loves the kind staff and enjoys the home-cooked food. All in all, Mum is receiving excellent nursing care.
Carers are very considerate and good. Breakfast is excellent, other meals are average at best. Dining area very good. Excellent facilities.
My husband is a resident and as for the past year, he came to Barchester Werrington Lodge Care Home unable to walk or eat, was tube fed and was very poorly. Now, he can walk, eat properly and that's thanks to all staff at the lodge. His clothes and room are very clean. The staff have time to care for all residents and my husband is very happy, he has been made ambassador.
The care seems to be very good and the food is great. The patient always seems to be clean and cared for. The staff are friendly.
Whilst I have been a resident at Werrington Lodge I have been treated with nothing but respect and kindness by all members of staff. The management have been above all professional.
Staff are friendly and do their best try to be as friendly as they can. I praise the communication with the staff. The connection is with my daughter. My godson is in April 20. I like the staff. Thanks.
My sister is being looked after really well. She is settling in really well. Carers are lovely, they have lots of time for her. Food is the best. She really needs lots of care. We have found she is much cleaner and we are well happy with her care.
My friend has settled in well. The carers are very good and helpful. The food is lovely. It is very clean and tidy.
We were made very welcome on our first enquiry. The staff took time to spend with us and answer our questions. Following on from this visit, my brother and I were very pleased that there was a place available for our Mum. Whilst it is early days for us, we are confident that we have chosen the right place for her.
I would like to thank two members of staff, in particular, for their support today in taking my husband to the local pub for lunch. We used to go regularly in the minibus but not recently due to lack of training. They always go the extra mile to help the residents, staff and relatives. Unfortunately today, I had difficulty manoeuvring my husband's wheelchair and tipped him over to his right side. They both helped right the chair and fortunately he had only grazed his arm. The Nurse took care of the injuries and the two members of staff took care of me as it was quite upsetting. As always the team leader came to the rescue and made my husband smile and put my mind at rest so I Ieft him in very capable hands. I just hope the minibus training happens soon so that we can all get back to regular visits to the local pub.
Overall, most things are good. Staff and rooms are ok. Food is also good.
Very good care and support to resident.
Really upsetting to visit my dad in this home. The lovely brochure is nothing like the actual home. Although the carers seemed kind and friendly, Dad did little other than sit in a chair all day in a room that had nothing to stimulate him. The smell of urine hits you as you walk through the door and the 'garden' was full of weeds, broken ornaments and staff cigarette butts. The so-called enrichment activities were poor, if they actually happened. My mum was shown around the 'lovely' side and foolishly signed up only to find that Dad was moved into a substandard room while she went home to collect some personal things for him into the horrible 'dementia ' side. ' Dad was made to wear a bib to eat and drink from plastic cups like a baby. His dementia was not that bad. I am sure it would have been a quick regression if he had stayed there longer. 'It was a very upsetting experience for everyone and I would not recommend this home to anyone.
