I have found the home welcoming and professional providing information needed and responses to questions in a timely way. It would be useful to know more about what activities are offered/engaged with - perhaps through an app.
Excellent care and service from all those involved with taking respite care of my partner. This means I feel confident in leaving him in their care so I can take a well-needed rest. He's always happy to go there for his little holiday as well.
Mum is settling in and comfortable, the home is extremely well managed and presented, the facilities are very clean. The team are friendly and very helpful and always on hand to assist, activities are inclusive and well coordinated. I feel very happy mum is in good hands here. Well done team.
Having been obliged to leave Anning House after over 4 years, because my capital was depleted, I can now appreciate better the care I received there. The contrast with my current setting is marked. However, so many improvements could have been made, with very little expenditure or effort. Despite continual requests, the food lacked a variety of green vegetables frequently cold and not well presented. With a few exceptions, carers were caring, competent and conversational! Communication with managers was very sparing, however, my main cause for dissatisfaction was the lack of a written, up-to-date, comprehensible service/care plan that would have provided me and my family with the assurance that we were getting what we were paying for and that my needs were understood by all those involved. Staff turnover meant having to frequently verbalise what I required. Do not be seduced by the provision of "Other Health Services" - just a list of what is available to all members of the NHS, not "in-house".
Four weeks of respite care has led to the resident making a decision not to return home. This was down to the consistent care as well as lots of regular visits by close family members and friends. Issues that had to be addressed, arose from two live-in carers being excellent in terms of care and support, but due to the property not providing an easy exit for a wheelchair, they could not expand the horizon beyond downstairs of the house. Gradually the more social environment began to outweigh the two-to-one care at home. Hoping this will continue. 4 stars due to one-morning poor experience with agency staff, not a normal occurrence.
I can only speak very highly of both the experience of my father who resides at Anning House and that of a relative who is regularly visiting. From our first initial visit to the present day, all members of staff have been welcoming, professional and very friendly. I would fully recommend visiting Anning House and experiencing this warm environment for yourself.
I made enquiries to Anning House in September 2024 with regard to moving my mother from another care home in Weymouth to Anning House to become a resident going forward once she had served her notice period at her present address. My enquiry was dealt with in an extremely professional manner, all my questions were answered fully and it was very clear to me that moving my mother to Anning House was a positive move for her. The staff I met were polite, professional, informative and obviously willing to accommodate my mother to the best of their ability. I was very impressed with the general presentation of the establishment when my mother, my wife and I were given a guided tour by one of the team and can honestly say I saw nothing that I didn't like, everything served to reinforce the decision already made to move my mother in. I was given access to her allocated room immediately and was able to smooth the transition for my mother before she ultimately moved in two weeks later.
An outstanding standard of care - my mum did improve healthwise, made friends and settled in very well. The staff and carers seemed very professional and were friendly. I think the standard was excellent, including the food and activities on offer. My mum had a short stay and she enjoyed it and we felt happy that she was well cared for.
From the first visit to look around at Anning House, the manager and her team were so friendly and professional nothing was too much trouble. They all went above and beyond in their care and support, not only for our lovely friend, but for her family and friends too. A real sense of community, thank you to each and every one of you for your kindness, compassion, and care. You made the last few months of a very dear friend's life so much better, giving her respect, dignity and outstanding medical care, she really was in the best place, and passed away peacefully surrounded by love in a homely environment. I would highly recommend Anning House.
Always made to feel comfortable, staff and everyone very friendly, everything is 10/10 except sometimes the food which needs some work but most of this is nice.
There cannot be a better care home in every respect. When my husband and I required care, Anning House was recommended very highly and so we have experienced excellent care in every way and are thankful to be here. Our individual rooms are all that we could have asked for. The staff are very courteous and caring, with a very friendly attitude. We could not have found a better home.
Came to Anning House following bouts in the hospital and other medical problems. I went home for 1 day but ended up back in hospital. Family decision was taken to return to Anning House on a permanent basis. I came in May/June 2022 for 1 month and have been here ever since. The care and support I have received from all the amazing staff is second to none, everyone goes the extra mile no matter what my needs are. Catering and housekeeping departments are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for dietary needs. The general carers are exactly what their title says, carers, and very good at their jobs.
I worked as a medical social worker for twenty-five years and I was extremely satisfied with everything in Anning House Care Home. The welcome reception, the room, activities, menus and especially the care my husband received. He was happy during his stay. I shall be more than happy, if I need a break, to know, with confidence, that he will be cared for.
My husband and I travel from America to visit Dad. Love our time together. We value, trust and appreciate all the carers, nurses and team that take great care of Dad. Always great seeing all the wonderful team members of Anning House Care Home. Dad is happy and safe and enjoys the daily interaction and attention. Thank you.
Great carers, very attentive and patient with my dad. Always happy to see and talk to his visitors.
My mother has been at Anning House on the memory care floor for two years and I could not be happier with her care. When she was sick the nurses communicated with me every step of the way and ensured she had appropriate care. The medical care has been excellent, particularly in managing her dementia. All carers and nurses have demonstrated sensitive, patient and compassionate care helping her to feel settled content and loved. Well done Anning House.
I'm so happy we found Anning House, I know Mum is very well looked after by carers who know her well and genuinely care about her. All the staff I have come into contact with have been helpful, cheerful and welcoming and I feel supported by them every bit as much as I feel they support Mum. The house is always clean and smart. When a friend and I visited prior to placing Mum, we both said if it was a hotel, we'd have stayed. I still feel like this eight months later. My father also moved into Anning House but sadly only lasted three nights before heart failure saw him off. At the time, we were hugely well supported and I take comfort from the fact that Dad was not alone when he died and that he was treated with the utmost dignity in his last few, crotchety, days. I will forever be grateful for this.
Anning House is a pleasure to visit and live in. It is light and airy, easy access along corridors, plenty of activity and quiet lounges. Beautiful pictures along the walls and nice furniture (no suitable footstools). The facilities are amazing in that the timetable for activities is innovative, changing every week from singing, crafts, outings, pat dogs and alpacas, quizzes and many more! The chef creates incredible mouth-watering meals, such a variety.
Having experienced other care homes in the Weymouth area we decided to use Anning House as an alternative. The house was known to my father prior to taking up residency. It displays as a modern, clean and well-kept facility. Staff are polite, friendly and have a good working knowledge of residents in their care. A good experience so far and thank you.
Very professional and caring team, providing assurance to my father and the family. Always has a lovely atmosphere and welcoming.
