View Full Details of Chiltern Grange Care HomeMy sister moved to Chiltern Grange Care Home in July 2024. The nurse care team gave an excellent review of her care over the last six months. I was given details of my sister's personal care, social interaction with other residents and health issues in a clear and easy to understand format.
My grandmother has been at Chiltern Grange Care Home for just over a year and I cannot praise the staff enough. Due to the severity of her dementia, no other facilities were able to support her needs but the exemplary staff at Chiltern have taken amazing care of her. From the variety of activities, great food, welcoming environment, clean facilities and professional staff. My entire family are happy to visit. It turns what was previously an upsetting situation of visiting a care facility, into a pleasant one. Knowing my nan is being cared for with dignity and respect allows us to focus on creating special moments with her, instead of worrying about her when we leave. Thank you everyone.
We visit my brother-in-law at least once a week. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The food looks very appetising and well presented. My brother-in-law's room is always clean and comfortable. He seems to enjoy the outdoor activities though enjoys his own company whilst in the home. Overall I would recommend Chiltern Grange Care Home.
My mother, who has dementia, has now been at Chiltern Grange for just over two years. The staff are without exception caring, compassionate and professional. I can visit any time that suits me and am met by familiar faces each time. I'm always kept fully informed of any issues arising and have the opportunity to discuss things with the managers of the floor she's on. Initially my mother was quite agitated by having to move from her flat to the care home, but over time, with the wonderful care she receives, she has become very settled and I would not want her to be anywhere else. The care home itself has the feel of an upmarket hotel about it and is set in beautiful grounds. It has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, including individual rooms and public spaces. There's now even a bistro/coffee room on the ground floor for residents and their guests. I highly recommend Chiltern Grange and would happily give it more that the five stars allowed.
Chiltern Grange is an amazing residential care home with the look and feel of a five star hotel. I suddenly had to move a relative from a hospital ward 100 miles away to be closer to the family. From my first visit to a week later when my mother in law moved in, everything went smoothly and I was so pleased to have found the perfect place. Her room was large and beautifully furnished and she was able to bring small pieces of furniture and her numerous family photographs from her own home which helped her settle in quickly. All the staff are wonderful. They are all so friendly, kind, and compassionate from the cleaners, laundry staff and reception staff to the carers and nursing staff and it was so reassuring to see the same familiar staff every day when we visited. My mother in law was nearing the end of her life when she came to stay at Chiltern Grange but with the fantastic professional care of all the staff she had a dignified, comfortable and peaceful passing.
My mother spent three months in the care of the wonderful staff at Chiltern Grange. Everyone was extremely caring, kind and highly professional from the initial home assessment to the support for my mother and the visiting family members. We could visit at times that suited us and communication between the staff and family was perfect. Chiltern Grange has a lovely calm atmosphere with the rooms all looking fresh, clean and well presented.
Our mother moved to Chiltern Grange Care Home last year and the care for her throughout her time has been top notch. As well as diligently looking after her they have treated her with respect and accommodated me and my sister's needs for access to mum. The experience with Chiltern when compared with the previous home she stayed in has been like night and day.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My husband has been at Chiltern Grange Care Home since July and the care he has received has been exemplary. All of the staff, without exception, are so friendly and kind to residents and visitors alike. The fact that I can go in anytime I want to, makes visiting very easy. Nobody wants a loved one to have to go into care, but the staff here have totally eliminated the worries I initially had. I can highly recommend this home. A special thank you to one particular member of staff her team, who are looking after him so well.
My husband entered Chiltern Grange in August initially for respite care. It was difficult for him to settle at first but the carers were patient, understanding and very supportive. I have felt welcomed in the care home setting and feel able to discuss care with the staff at any time. Chiltern Grange held a Garden Party which was brilliantly organised and enjoyed by visitors and residents alike. My husband had a birthday celebration too which was organised by Chiltern Grange and the care taken by the catering staff was exemplary. My husband appears to be settling in now with the help of the carers and will now become a long-term resident.
My experience of Chiltern Grange is overwhelmingly positive. The staff are diligent and kind and the overall atmosphere is very positive. The food and catering is excellent and the staff regularly get everyone up, dressed, and outdoors. There is lots of entertainment arranged and there is always something going on.
My wife died in the dementia ward after being a resident for 3 months. I felt that she was treated with love, efficiency, and respect, All aspects of her care were excellent. We as relatives were always kept aware of any changes in her condition as soon as they appeared. We are grateful to all the staff.
My brother has been a resident for 4 months. He has settled in well and gets on well with all the staff and most of the other residents. The staff here are so friendly and the whole place has a very welcoming feeling. Always get a smile from everyone and a chat despite how busy they are. We couldn't have wished for a better home for my brother. Oh yes, and the cakes are amazing!
My father's care needs changed significantly over the weekend and knowing Chiltern Grange would be able to meet these needs, my mother-in-law is a resident, I contacted the care home on Monday and an assessment was carried out the same day. Fortunately, a bed was available on the floor where his needs could be best met and he commenced his stay on the Tuesday at a time to suit his transport. The welcome from the staff was warm and so encouraging, he loved it immediately. The staff go to great lengths to accommodate the resident's needs and make them feel special. My father is very happy with his last port of call.
I reached a point where I was unable to properly care for my wife who was suffering from breast cancer and Alzheimer's dementia. We searched locally, several care homes but came to the decision that Chiltern Grange had more to offer than others. This decision was more than justified as, over the next sex months my wife received exemplary care from the care manager and through the whole host of staff entrusted with her care. Chiltern Grange, in my opinion, is a role model for caring for those in need at this difficult time of life.
Although my brother has been at Chiltern Grange for a relatively short time I feel completely confident that this is the perfect place for him. There is a sense of calm - from the moment you walk in the staff are welcoming, friendly, and smiling. The care not only for my brother but for us as a family is exemplary. To know that my brother is well cared for in a pleasant, homely surrounding and above all - safe - is amazing.
This is the most wonderful home. The manager and a member of staff are very welcoming and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are extremely kind, warm and caring. Mum loves it there. We, as a family know that she is in good hands. I only have good things to say about this beautiful home.
The manager and all staff are professional, polite, courteous, and very welcoming. They have made my dad feel as comfortable as possible and send regular updates on his new journey and it has given me and my family a huge peace of mind knowing the amazing care and attention he is receiving. The home and its garden are lovely and very relaxing too.

Recently, my father became unwell and needed a few weeks of respite to recover himself. After checking online reviews, I decided upon Chiltern Grange in Stokenchurch. From my first dealings on the phone, I felt that my father would be in good hands. We arrived at the home’s reception to be greeted by name, as the receptionist was clearly expecting us – a good sign. The atmosphere was calm and friendly, and I felt we had made the right choice straight away. My father stayed for a month’s respite in a lovely room and the staff were so attentive and caring. He has put weight back on and he is much less anxious than he was on arrival. He kept telling me that his stay was like being at a five-star hotel. He has even ventured out on the weekly ‘jaunts’ to garden centres, museums, and other places of interest. Many thanks to all the staff who helped my father’s recuperation along and gave us peace of mind that he was being well cared for.
