My father's Alzheimers was making life difficult in his own home. The process of deciding where (and when) to move him was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make. With time to now reflect, Argentum Court has provided the hoped-for safe, calm and caring place he needs. Such a change of scene has taken time for him to settle but all the staff - from senior management down - have gently and sympathetically helped and encouraged him to now feel at home.

My Mother had her 99th birthday this month and the home allowed us to have a private family get-together in the family room. Mother so enjoyed seeing us all. It really made her day special. It would not have been possible without the support, input and hard work of so many members of staff. Thank you all so much for making the day special. A special word of thanks goes to the chef who made the birthday cake as well as the inventiveness of the balloon blower/designer. As a family, we are so happy that we managed to find Argentum Lodge. The friendliness of the staff has made the settling in for Mother so much easier. A happy team stems from management which from our vantage point is excellent. All the hard work put in by everyone at Argentum is really appreciated. Thank you.

Myself and family had one priority which was that my husband was happy and well cared for and we certainly have that at Argentum Lodge. During my visits, all members of staff are tip top which reflects in the environment. Always there to give a helping hand and ready to give guidance if you ask for it. The Activities Team do an exemplary job in the things they organise, especially visits from young members of the community and, of course, animals which residents get a chance to 'pet' if they so wish. I can't visit my loved one every day but the 'one-to-one' sessions the staff carry out I feel are very beneficial. The fact that a hairdresser, chiropodist and regular visits from the local doctor's surgery are on hand is very helpful and reassuring for me they are as caring as the staff. 100% pleased with the care and attention my husband receives at Argentum Lodge and thank you for all that you do in making the residents comfortable, happy and at ease with the world.

My husband was initially admitted to Argentum Lodge for respite care and was not happy about that, especially as he had difficulty with communicating his needs. This did cause a few problems at first but now that he has become a permanent resident and he and the staff have got to know each other better, he seems more settled and I am happy with the care he is given. The staff are friendly, always concerned for my well-being and willing to answer any questions I may have. The food is great, the activities that my husband can engage with are fun and I am kept informed of any changes in his treatment. Would I recommend Argentum to friends and family? Definitely!

Mum has advanced Alzheimer's but is never isolated or left out. The staff ensure she is fully engaged when she wishes to be, a reflection of their professional skills and sensitivity to the needs of the residents. Argentum Lodge is extremely well run, with staff who are committed and skilled. The premises are clean and tidy and the communal spaces are attractive and constantly refreshed. The bedrooms are what they need to be - comfortable but relatively functional because many of the residents have specific requirements. Mum has now been a resident for more than three years and Argentum has gone from strength to strength during this time.

I am so pleased that fortune smiled on us by way of finding a new home for our parents at Argentum Lodge. My mother has gained sanctuary from the intermittent excruciating pain she suffered at home. At Argentum, her medication is delivered at scheduled times and is regularly reviewed. Her care regime is constantly being monitored by the home and GP working in collaboration as her needs change. My father joined the home reluctantly following a fall which affected his mobility and confidence. The staff have worked ceaselessly and uncomplainingly to accommodate his needs and foibles, both real and imagined. I am in absolute awe at their patience and tolerance. They are invariably kind, gentle and upbeat - this seems to be the ethos of the home from the top down. On the extremely rare occasions when we have approached the manager or her deputy over issues, we have received a near-instantaneous response, easily understood explanations or immediate action to resolve the perceived problem.

Argentum Lodge is a very well-maintained residential nursing home. All staff are very professional and put the needs of the residents first. It gives me great peace of mind knowing my mum is well cared for and is being looked after twenty-four hours a day.

Argentum Lodge Care Home is a very caring, well-managed home under good leadership. The residents are extremely well cared for and treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Each resident has their own ensuite room which is cleaned daily. Every day there are activities which range from music, crafts, games and puzzles, ballgames etc and are led by a dedicated activities coordinator. All the staff, carers, cleaners etc are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in the home is friendly and caring where each resident is known and treated individually as if they were in their own home.

A lovely care home with staff that go above and beyond the call of duty. I always felt confident that my brother received the best care and treatment available, especially in the latter stages of his stay at Argentum Lodge. Staff were approachable, very friendly and always kept me well informed of any developments. Thank you all.

The best staff at Argentum lodge, nothing is too much trouble! From the admin staff, domestic staff, care team and the fabulous activities team you've all made the transition for my nan from leaving her home of 50 years to Argentum a lot easier! Thank you. We appreciate the incredible hard work you put in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Argentum seemed efficient at the start, however since the new manager has taken over the care has been totally unacceptable. My mother has had multiple unwitnessed falls and very poor care. We have situations where staff including managers do not answer phones or respond to emails for 3 days. Despite a power of attorney being in place the home has refused to engage and liaise regarding health and welfare. The home is tired, not homely and totally unfriendly. After raising concerns rather than the home dealing with these issues they chose to ask my frail mother to leave terminating her tenancy. Given the care fees the home is charging care was totally unacceptable and compassion given to residents with complex health conditions was very distressing. Since moving, within 48 hours my mother seems much happier in herself. When moving out over half of her belongings were missing including her engagement ring from her late husband. Personal items clothing, footwear and jewelry were not found.

Mum has been a resident of Argentum Lodge since June 2023. It's very hard to find a place that's as comfortable as home, but we found it at Argentum. The staff are outstanding in every way, it's a beautiful, friendly community with excellent care. The food is home-cooked and there's always plenty of choice. The entertainment and activities are amazing, we found this so important to stimulate Mum, and there's always a really lovely atmosphere. It's a very happy place.

Mum went into the Argentum very anxious, but with the help and care of the staff, she is more settled and even going into the common room. The activities team are excellent and Mum enjoys going to the hairdressers, she is very good with her. I am always made very welcome when I visit, even get offered a cup of tea!

The staff are very kind and everyone seems to know all the residents. The activities team are marvellous. They provide a lot of entertainment and encourage residents to join in. I am always made to feel welcome when I visit and can visit any time. My mum has been living at Argentum Lodge for a year now and seems to be settled, though always concerned about what she should be doing. The staff are good at reassuring her. The doctor visits every week so I'm confident that health issues will be addressed. I can raise any concerns I have with staff.

I am delighted by the excellent care my friend has received at Argentum. She was very anxious when she came here but eighteen months later she is confident, relaxed and very happy. The staff are very caring, kind and supportive and treat my friend as an individual encouraging her to be herself. She values this very much, trusts them and thinks very highly of them and the care they give. All the staff are very welcoming and professional, the home is always clean, bright and cheerful and the food is very good! My friend now enjoys socializing in the lounge together with the frequent stimulating activities, especially singing and loves the peaceful garden. The staff have carefully improved her mobility and her confidence is so improved that we can regularly go into town. But then she is always 'very happy to go home' again, to see the staff whom she regards as her friends.

I wanted to say how lovely this care home is. My cousin is in this care home and she is very happy and settled which makes the family happy and at ease knowing she is well looked after. The staff are all friendly and happy and nothing is too much trouble for them, they know my cousin's needs inside and out. When we visited last week the manager introduced herself to myself and my husband, she was very kind and supportive and said if we ever needed anything or if we had concerns then we could always speak to her, what a lovely approach from a manager. Thank you to the manager and the staff for treating my cousin like part of a family not just a number in a care home.

Having made the decision my Mother 94 years needed 25hr care was very worrying and distressing. She has settled into Argentum Lodge very quickly and to my relief is the happiest I have seen her for many months. All the staff at the home are absolutely wonderful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend Argentum Lodge to any family needing care for a loved one. I cannot express the peace of mind I now have.

We have always found both staff and management to be kind, empathetic, efficient and caring. Despite the problems of running this demanding service in difficult times, they always go the extra mile.

Putting my wife into care was a difficult decision and a difficult process. She had complex needs and was not cooperative. Argentum was attractive - the building not too large, modern, very light and spotlessly clean. The rooms were pleasant and could be customised. There were adequate staff and they were genuinely caring. Separate dining/activity spaces would be an advantage. We are close enough to visit regularly and are very pleased with our choice of Argentum.

Argentum Lodge have been fantastic, supporting my mum who has advanced dementia. They helped her settle and now she is enjoying activities and has a life with some joy and pleasure which she did not have in her own home. Communication from the team is excellent at all times. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile to keep me informed of Mum's progress.
