View Full Details of Fordingbridge Care HomeMy grandmother has lived in 4 previous care homes prior to Fordingbridge Care Home. I can honestly say that this care home does wonders for her needs exceeding expectations for her overall living and quality of life. The care home is warm and welcoming from its setting, internal environment, facilities for residents and it's amazing staff members. My grandmother is happy and settled. Her bedroom is warm, spacious and risk-free. They offer a great selection of freshly cooked food to its residents allowing my grandmother to have a balanced diet. The care home has recently undergone light refurbishments and now looks great! Highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for themselves or loved ones. Special thanks to the team for doing an amazing job not only for my grandmother but for all residents as this is visible when we have visited the site.
Every staff member has been exceptional and all demonstrated genuine care and support around looking after my father-in-law. It has certainly helped with the bereavement knowing how well he was looked after and that he was always surrounded by people who looked after him like he was their own father. He was always clean and so was his room.
I was not able to visit my Dad as much as I liked due to Covid and my work commitments and distance to the home but I was rest assured knowing my Dad was being looked after so well. All of the staff were so attentive and I believe that they not only cared for my Dad but also had a special bond with him and would make him smile. His room and himself were always clean and when I visited the staff, they always made me feel welcome, they would also keep in touch with me and notify me of how my Dad was doing. I would recommend this home to anyone thinking of sending their loved ones there.
Fordingbridge Care Home was excellent in every way while looking after my father. The staff would always try their very best to make my father's life as comfortable and as happy as they could. The job of taking care of my father's every need was difficult at best and got harder as his illness progressed but the staff always stepped up to the mark.
My sister has settled in well. She seems content and happy when we arrive to visit and when we depart. She has deteriorated due to her type of dementia but still seems well in herself. The staff have always been helpful and they have addressed many problems that have occurred with my sister nad have adapted things to help with her needs. We have always found the staff very approachable and willing to answer out queries or questions. We are pleased that they now have permanent activity staff to help keep the residents interested and entertained. We're thankful that my sister is safe and well cared for.
Excellent care from underappreciated and overworked staff. After we explained our concerns to the deputy manager she was very sympathetic to our needs and took the time to explain the daily care that my relative was receiving. Because of this we now have a better understanding of what happens on a daily basis. Thank you to the deputy manager!
Our sister is well-looked after despite her being a little angry at times. But the staff handle it well and we are very grateful for that. Thank you.
My husband came to this care home in August 2022. He was very upset and traumatised, as was I as his wife. Over the months, the care for him by all the staff has been fantastic and I am grateful for the smiling faces that always greet me. When I visit, he is settled and comfortable and I can relax knowing that he is well cared for. It's difficult to put into words my gratitude to all the staff and management of Fordingbridge Care Home.
I have very little experience of other dementia care homes but this is certainly the best one I have dealt with. The rooms are nice and bright, the staff are friendly and helpful. Taken overall and considering what the place is I find it a pleasurable place that I feel my mother is well looked after in.
My friend had been very destructive and emotional - he had damaged property and been quite angry. The staff in Fordingbridge Care Home were very kind to my friend and his family and myself. Placing no blame making him safe and calm and taking things in their stride as always, I cannot praise the staff enough. They are all friendly and very caring and considerate.
Mum was happy at Fordingbridge Care Home, as she told us often. Our family also knew she had the very best of care and attention which gave us peace of mind between visits. There are a number of staff who worked on her floor and we cannot thank them enough personally for being her family when we weren't there with her. You all know who you are. We really feel that she was in the best place with the best care and love in her last days. Thank you all.
My grandmother was diagnosed with mixed dementia quite a few years ago. We watched her slowly fail to manage in her own home and finally the day came where she needed more care than was able to be provided in her own home. This was a big moment for everyone and came with a lot of thoughts of guilt, sadness and fear, especially seeing her be separated from her husband. She sadly passed away recently and we can honestly say that the care she had at Fordingbridge Care Home surpassed all of our expectations. Seeing her so trusting towards the staff, even up until the end, was such a reassurance for us as a family and a tribute to the incredible care staff that went above and beyond for her. I hope all the staff at Fordingbridge can be proud of the quality of care they provide and know that we truly feel they are the unsung heroes.
My dad has been in Fordingbridge Care Home coming up for 2 years and has been extremely well looked after. It has been difficult with covid but the staff have always kept us informed of my dad.
My mum has been a resident at Fordingbridge for several years. I have watched her slowly decline as the illness takes hold and as upsetting as this is to watch, one of the main consolations has been the care and love shown by the staff who look after Mum. I live some distance away and can't visit as much as I would like, so knowing I can really trust the home and the people who look after Mum is so important to me. I have never had a reason to doubt at any time that her needs and care have not been a priority. This is vital when you have to make such a difficult decision to entrust a loved one to a completely new environment.
My Mum has lived at Fordingbridge Care Home since 2017, it’s a wonderful home full of caring, kind and compassionate staff. I’d been really concerned about her going into care but thankfully I found it’s an amazing place, with Mum treated respectfully as an individual with warmth, affection and understanding in her own home. Mum’s always had the freedom to do exactly what she needs to do day and night, with experienced skilled nurses and carers keeping her safe. In my opinion, it’s the people that make it so special. Mum’s always very well cared for both physically, mentally and emotionally. Her nurse is absolutely amazing along with the wonderful carers and activity staff. They know about her life, likes and dislikes, and it matters to them that her days are the best they can be. They keep me updated by phone and send me photos, so I always know exactly how she’s doing when I’m not there. It’s really reassuring and I will forever be grateful to everyone for Mum’s incredible care.
The care my Father has received at Fordingbridge Care Home has been fantastic. Always welcomed by friendly staff who have shown great knowledge and care towards him. They have always got him all the help he has needed and kept us regularly updated with how he is. I feel very confident in his care at this home, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere and the staff and residents always appear happy when I am visiting.
Revisiting this year my 97-year-old mother, who is bed-bound with severe dementia. I feel comforted to find her well-kempt and resting, comfortably, in clean and bright surroundings. It was heart-warming to see the throw and twiddle muff, the family sent in the post during Covid, being looked after and made available to her. I appreciate the staff, who whilst very busy, greet me in a friendly and helpful way. I left a note to say that Mum liked 'Classic FM' and am touched to find this playing, in the background, on my visits. I am amazed at how sparkling bright my mother's clothes are returned, promptly, to her wardrobe from the laundry room. I have the privilege of seeing my mother every week. For a family member further afield, an occasional, short written bulletin would be reassuring, for example on her weight, how well she eats and takes current medication. 'Thank you' for getting my very frail mother through these past 15 months and wearing a smile.
The standard of care my husband receives is excellent. He’s always treated with compassion and respect. He’s lived here for 3 years now, and both I and my husband receive great support. I visit twice a week and speak to his nurse every single day, and he lets me know what kind of a day my husband has had. Personally, I think all the staff from reception, laundry, carers, activity, nurses and management are all just great at what they do. I have total admiration for them.
Amazing care home. The staff are very efficient, it's clean and homely. My mum has settled in very well, initially, I didn't think that anyone could care for her as well as me. I was wrong! The care and attention are second to none, I would highly recommend!
From the moment my Mum was admitted to Fordingbridge Care Home, I regretted our decision. I accept that with Covid rife in the country it is a difficult time for care home managers but the lack of compassion shown by all of the staff was quite simply unbelievable. The argumentative receptionist thought she was talking to a two-year-old and the lack of flexibility was a disgrace. On the day my Mum passed I had specifically asked staff to call one of the brothers and not speak to my Father who was alone. This was totally ignored and Dad was left alone with his grief having been called. At no point did anyone in the home offer any condolences and when I came to collect Mum's bagged up belongings I was treated like a leper. Shouted at by the receptionist to stay outside and then again for talking to the only member of the team, a young carer, who dared to offer her condolences! Avoid this place like the plague. Awful!
