View Full Details of Barchester Lancaster Grange Care HomeMy wife has been a resident of Lancaster Care Home for 2 years. During this period I have been more than pleased with all aspects of my wife's care. The staff from the manager downwards have always displayed a professional attitude, caring support and total friendliness. I have always been informed of my wife's concerns and been involved in all decision making processes. They have been extremely helpful on occasions when I have felt confused by what has been said about outside agencies (i.e. social services). You should be proud of Lancaster Grange.
Moving Mum to residential care was a huge decision. Lancaster Grange stood out immediately in terms of attitude, ease of planning and listening to our needs. Mum, in spite of her devastation admitting she could no longer cope on her own and leaving her beloved home, has settled in beautifully. After 10 months, she feels Lancaster Grange is her home. The staff feel like family. There is a wonderful sense of community. As her family, I feel as much a part of Lancaster Grange as the residents and staff alike. Obviously, I'd like Mum to be living independently but Lancaster Grange comes a very close second.
I would like to make a special mention to certain members of staff, they have gone way above expectations, being particularly helpful and reassuring. All the staff are very good and helpful. Thank you.
Very friendly caring home. Nothing is too much bother. Residents have entertainment every day.
On Monday I had the pleasure of taking my favourite mother-in-law in her wheelchair for a visit to Fernwood park opposite the home. It was organised by the senior activities coordinator, assisted by members of staff (some who had come in to help on their day off!) and volunteers. What a great idea. It made twelve residents very happy, especially as it included an ice cream! Thank you and well done.
Absolutely brilliant from admin to care, to manager.
I am more than satisfied with all the staff do for me.
My mum feels very safe and secure here. All the staff go over and beyond to make sure all the residents are happy and feel loved.
Barchester Lancaster Grange Care Home is a good care home. It is light, airy and cheerful. The staff are great, very hardworking and caring and the food is good too!
Having now been a resident for three years and five months, I have to say the high standards have always been in evidence. What more can I say? I couldn't wish for more.
My mother has been a resident of Lancaster Grange in the Memory Lane community since January 2023. She continues to receive excellent care and enjoys the activities as much as her dementia permits. Staff are constantly patient, kind, and caring and Mum is settled and happy in the home.
I found Lancaster Grange Care Home excellent in all I could have wished for, care, food, cleanliness and kind and efficient staff. The manager is helpful to staff and patients. The activities are outstanding and amusing. Hairdressing is very accommodating. Housekeeping and maintenance, are perfect.
From the initial visit to Lancaster Grange Care Home, everyone was very helpful and supportive. My mother needed respite care after a spell in the hospital and the care and support she received have enabled her full recovery, she is now able to return to her own home. She is now confident she can manage with support from self. The staff have been wonderful and the range of activities available enable residents to mix together and have some fun. Would highly recommend Lancaster Grange Care Home.
Well satisfied with a caring community.
Excellent care home for my mum. Wonderful friendly and caring staff. Great activities and variety of entertainment. Good food, clean rooms and lovely room overlooking pretty gardens. It is reassuring to know that my mum is in good hands and being looked after so well. Thank you.
I feel that hairdressing and podiatrist should be included in our fees, as they are in most care homes.
I came here in early December 2021 from the hospital, after I had a fall in my bungalow and had a damaged femur. As I was now living on my own, with no relatives nearby, I always thought that Lancaster Grange Care Home was where I would like to live, and I come here without seeing it. I have sold my bungalow and I am very happy here meeting everyone and taking part in varied activities and trips out in the minibus.
Amazing care home, the staff are super friendly and take care of all the residents to keep them feeling like they are at a home away from home. They take pride in what they do and this shows in the detail of the events they plan and the care they give. My father-in-law has made friends, is stimulated mentally and it has had such a positive impact on his dementia. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a loved one.
Mum has been at Lancaster Grange for five weeks, and as a family, we are really happy with how she has settled. She has put weight on, which is brilliant. She joins in what she can; being 100-years-old, she is a bit limited.
Mum has been at Lancaster Grange for about two months now. Since moving in, her well-being has improved greatly. She is now eating much better, and her conversation has also improved. This is very much down to the care she is receiving. The only thing I would say is that at times, staff members do seem overstretched.
