View Full Details of Ryeview Manor Care HomeI have my Mum in Ryview Manor. She has been in there for about four months now. From my first contact with them, the staff have been nothing but understanding and caring. From the staff member who I first talked to when I was first looking for care for my Mum, to all the floor staff, cleaners, up to nurse, to the Matron and the home manager. It is never easy to make the decision to put a loved one in to care but the staff here have made it a caring and pleasant experience. They have called if there is a problem with Mum and guided me through the practical solutions. They have offered a shoulder to cry on when I have needed it and reassured me that I am doing the right thing for both Mum and myself. There is a doctor who visits on a regular weekly round but is also available in between if required. Mum is now exercising more and seems to have settled in well making friends with both staff and other residents alike.
Mum couldn't have better care and attention. Her room is always spotless. The staff are always friendly, helpful and professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they will always go the extra mile.
Initially, I was unsure about Mum living in a care home, but I very soon learnt that the staff were conscientious about their jobs and very trustworthy. This allowed me to relax and start a new, free phase of my life. I know that Mum is safe and cared for at all times, which takes a huge weight from me. Thank you.
Since Mum moved into the home, she has "come alive". She has settled in well, and it has given me a chance to be her daughter again. The staff are very friendly and always have time to talk with me and make me feel welcome.
A lovely care home. The staff is always very pleasant and helpful. Any concerns are dealt with quickly and efficiently. Residents appear to be comfortable in their surroundings. Plenty of activities if residents want ti be involved.
Ryeview is a very friendly home where the staff really care about my mother. She has lived there for a while now and feels very at home. The home has recently been redecorated, making it look very fresh.
The home is well presented and very clean. Lots of activities. Food could do with variation. The communication with families is poor we felt we were not always getting the whole story. Some staff are lovely and others were not so lovely. They are short-staffed on the floor my relative was on and you often didn't see a soul. I won't be recommending this care home.
Staff always helpful and listen to my requests when it comes to my husband. My husband's needs are always met and my concerns are always dealt with in a prompt and very professional manner. His room is always clean and tidy. No issues since he has been at the home.
My mother has been a resident here for just over two years. Mum loves her life here, she's comfy, has made friends and the staff are just wonderful. They are kind, respectful and patient, with me as well when I visit or have queries or concerns. The home is perfectly located for me and my father to visit easily. We were having a dreadful time coping (or trying to) before Mum went into care and honestly couldn't be more grateful to Ryeview Manor Care Home. We sleep better knowing Mum is safe and well cared for and the staff know her well and pay attention to warning signs in her illness and respond quickly. Thank you, Ryeview Manor.
Just visited a friend whom is a resident of the care home. He is clearly looked after very well indeed, the staff are friendly and the rooms are very clean. Thank you for looking after him, he is very happy.
I would highly recommend Ryeview Manor. Mum moved in recently and the transition from hospital to the care home was made easy thanks to the staff. She has a lovely sunny room and is enjoying the delicious food. The staff are so attentive and always make time to talk to Mum and encourage her love of dancing. Mum has enjoyed having her hair and nails done and a lovely bubbly bath. It wasn’t an easy decision for the family but with Mum's dementia, we wanted her to be safe. Seeing her so happy has made it so much easier for us. Fabulous support from the staff and management.
Mum moved into Ryeview Manor in June 2021 and didn't find the transition from living independently to being in residential care easy. The fabulous support from both care and management staff smoothed the way for the 18 months she was there. There were ups and downs but through experience, they were able to offer advice and restore a calm situation. From the outset, they appreciated her sense of humour and encouraged it which made her and everyone around her laugh. With the delicious food, she really blossomed. Mum could be quite exacting, staff worked hard to see that she was cared for and felt secure. Having her nails painted and hair done on a regular basis was a highlight, I loved seeing her afterwards as her mood lifted, pride in her appearance was always important. Mum passed away in December 2022. Her end-of-life care was gentle, kind and considerate. So many of the staff go above and beyond. I have no hesitation in recommending Ryeview Manor Care Home.
Friendly and professional staff. My mother says she has no complaints and is happy at the home. The staff always walk by and talk to my mum and make time for her. Handy location, next to a park.
My husband has Alzheimer's and was in respite care for 2 weeks at Christmas. He cannot easily communicate and his experience there was so upsetting for him and the family, I find it difficult to send a positive review.
Without hesitation or reservation, I would highly recommend Ryeview Manor Care Home and its staff. My mother was very strong willed and never wanted to be in a care home. Eventually, though her Alzheimer's meant there was no other choice for our family. After having had a bad experience with another home, we found Ryeview Manor Care Home in January 2019. The change we saw in mum seemed to happen overnight. Mum appeared calm and happy for the first time in several years. Before she lost the capability, mum had always taken great pride in her appearance, so seeing her well fed, clean and groomed again made us all so happy. This was all down to the skill and kindness which the Ryeview Manor Care Home staff apply to their work. Sadly mum passed away in March 2022 from Alzheimer's. This is obviously never easy, but I was so touched by the care and warmth the Ryeview Manor Care Home staff showed. I do not think mum could have had a more dignified end. The staff at Ryeview Manor Care Home made my mum's last years happy and dignified, I could not ask for any more.
My father moved into the care home during COVID 19 and I can not praise the staff and management team enough in making the move as easy as can be. Even though they are wearing masks they seem to be taking it all in their stride and bring a fun atmosphere to the home. We worried about how he would settle in but when I have spoken to him he likes it there and has settled in well. In his isolation time, he had friendly staff with him to make sure he had everything he needed and that he wasn't feeling lonely. We have not been able to visit him in the home but just knowing he is happy makes the whole family happy.
My mum has currently been living here for over four years now, she had a period in a nursing home with my father and previous to that was here for about 16 months from when it opened. My mum would not be here if we were both not happy with the care she receives. The staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful and totally invested in the welfare of the residents. I have been so impressed with how the home has acted during these weird times we are living in, not only have they protected the residents, but the adaption of PPE, testing and cocooning was swift. Yes, it’s been hard not seeing mum, but the ability to book FaceTime calls has been great for her and a really good thing for the home to do. Also the wave and now being able to do socially distanced outside visits. As I said it’s hard but I want my mum and the staff safe, so precautions are important. The home totally believes in mental stimulation with activities, is very clean and I would recommend it.
Due to going into lockdown a week after my friend was admitted my view is rather limited. I experience great difficulty in contacting staff to ask how my friend is. It sometimes takes up to five phone calls on the same day at different times before it is answered and then when it is transferred to her floor it is sometimes cut off before I speak to anyone. When I do talk to the staff there is a great difference in their approach with some chatting happily about my friend and others just saying she is fine and doesn't need anything and ringing off. When one has had no time to get to know staff it is rather off-putting. On the plus side, the 'wave' and proposed visits are thoughtful and helpful. I have difficulty with the rest of the questions as I did not get to know the home well enough to judge.
My Mother, aged 92, went into Ryeview Manor Care Home in November 2017. She has a very pleasant room with an ensuite shower room which is well maintained and cleaned. The staff are very patient with my mother who has vascular dementia and at times can be confrontational. She is currently on palliative care for an end of life situation which is very sad but the carers smile at my mum and joke with her because they know her so well. They put on the music that my mum loves, particularly Frank Sinatra, which always cheers her up. The carers treat my mum with respect and kindness.
My mother has lived at Ryeview for the last four years and during that time her dementia has worsened, leading to some challenging behaviour. I cannot praise the staff enough for their patient and kind attitude towards her. The management of Ryeview are constantly seeking to provide the best care possible and hold regular meetings with relatives of residents in order to ensure that any concerns are quickly dealt with. They took early action in the Coronavirus situation to prevent the virus entering the home, and all the care staff have done an excellent job in very difficult circumstances. The home itself is modern, clean and well decorated. I am happy to recommend Ryeview as I feel they have taken excellent care of my mum.
