View Full Details of New Spring LodgeNew Spring Lodge was a safe place to live. I had my own room, which was lovely decorated for my arrival. It was clean and tidy. New Spring Lodge staff were amazing to me, they gave me confidence and showed they all supported me how I would have wanted. I am a real handful at times, but they never throw it back in my face and would talk through my behavior with me, so I could see what others saw. The place was a brilliant stopgap, preparing me for independent living. Every aspect of my future care was thought out to where best for me to live, finances, and realistic hurdles I would have to face. Well managed, a chance to help prepare dinner for other residents, which in turn helped me to cook for myself once I left. New Spring Lodge staff do care. I'm now living on my own in an apartment out of Derby. I'm always welcome back with open arms. Great staff and management well led and run. I look back with fond memories.
As a mother of a resident, I have found it a most welcoming a family home you could wish for.
I suffer from BPD emotional with a hoarding disorder. When I came, I lived by myself apart from my beautiful cat, it was a struggle to get anything done, as I also suffer from quite severe arthritis, especially in my knees. My family and friends were all stuck in lockdown because of some of the health conditions that they had. I tried to get to the shops at least once a day and always made sure my cat was fed and well looked after. Myself on the other hand just went downhill, I stopped eating, washing, tidying and let myself get in a serious mess, it was like being at the bottom of a great big hole and there was no way out. Then someone rang social services to cut a story short. I ended up in New Spring Lodge, under the care of the manager and her amazing staff. They taught me how to look after myself again, how to maintain a tidy home, the food is indescribable. It was above delicious, cooked in very clean conditions and good-sized portions as well. I stayed there for 3 weeks. Wonderful experience.
