View Full Details of Alexandra MillI was in very poor health when I came here. The property itself is lovely. Management and care have been exceptional. Carers are friendly and professional. I was treated as an individual. I would thoroughly recommend Alexandra Mill.
We chose Alexandra Mill for Mum after it had been highly recommended by a friend whose father had been very happy there and we haven't been disappointed. Mum settled quickly and is very content. The home is beautifully appointed and lovely can clean but it is the caring, friendly, respectful attitude of all the staff which really makes it a special place.
All the staff have been wonderful, compassionate and kind to my Mum since she moved to Alexandra Mill. Having nursing staff and trained dementia staff has helped tremendously. I have nothing but thanks for all involved, in what at times has been a difficult situation with Mum.
As soon as you walk into Alexandra Mill you can see what a lovely place it is, with excellent modern facilities. The rooms are spacious, again with first-class modern amenities. The staff at all levels are so friendly, helpful and caring.
Always treated with dignity. Staff are friendly and always try their best to help. The food seems good. Very clean in all areas, activities always available. Hairdresser and coffee shop on site are useful. Settle relatives when stressed. Overall a good place. Price is within all homes in the area of similar standard.
I am a 93-year-old lady who suffered a stroke in April which affected my mobility. I spent 4 weeks of respite care at Alexandra Mill in October and enjoyed every minute. I felt very safe and well looked after by the staff, in lovely surroundings.
Booked myself into Alexandra Mill for respite care as I am living on my own following an inguinal hernia repair at the hospital on Friday 31/5/24. It was the best decision I have made as the care was first-class and the staff from the manager down were professional and caring in their duties plus as an added bonus very friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone after experiencing it first-hand and seeing how other guests were looked after.
The home is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a very good activities program to help stimulate the residents. Like most care homes, sometimes they seem to be short-staffed, but everyone helps out to see to the resident's care. The home security is good and garden areas are very well maintained.
Our stay may have only been brief but my goodness what a team. Every single person we came across treated our loved one with respect, dignity and compassion. Your kindness to all of us as a family was second to none. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making a sad journey bearable. Even to your last mark of respect as "we" left the building you lined up to say goodbye.
When I first walked into Alexandra Mill I thought it was too good to be true. The friendliness of the staff, nothing seems to be too much trouble. They keep me well-informed of my mother's health and needs.
I am now 90 years old and have had a fall in 2023 and a couple of occasions had to go into hospital. On my discharge I have been into Alexandra Mill thrice. I am always welcomed back and given excellent attention to my needs and enabling me to walk again with my frame.
It was necessary for my husband who has both Dementia and Parkinson’s, to be looked after in care while I recovered from a hip replacement operation. The Alexandra Mill provided not only excellent physical care but within a kind, respectful, and homely environment. The daily routine of activities and friendly interaction with staff and other clients, coupled with excellent food and clean and comfortable surroundings made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free for him. This, in turn, gave me peace of mind during my recovery. I have not hesitated in booking further respite for him later in the year and feel fortunate that we have found such an excellent care home.
Our review was very informative and covered all aspects of care for my partner. His needs both social and medical are being addressed and met to a high standard. It is a pleasure to visit such a welcoming environment and know he is well cared for.
Alexandra Mill Care Home is welcoming with a happy friendly atmosphere and plenty of activities to join in, the care is first-rate with each individual resident's needs and wishes willingly catered for. Highly recommend.
When I first arrived I came in the front door. The decoration and furnishing are wow, better than a five-star hotel. My room was large and airy with a window from the floor to ceiling with a good outlook. The bathroom is ensuite with a shower you can sit down in. Staff and management are like part of the family. Willing to help me as I am unable to walk. I have to use the hoist which enables me to be put in a wheelchair, bed and toilet. They have facilities like a hair salon, games room, IT room, cinema room and a library. The food is excellent and I can't fault anything. This would be my first choice for any member of my family. Thank you.
Following a diagnosis of untreatable multiple organ failure in August 2023, my wife was placed under end-of-life palliative care and spent her last months in Alexandra Mill Care Home. The care and compassion she received were exemplary and I cannot thank the management and staff enough for what they did, even putting up with my odd and often extended visiting hours together with my poor fashion sense! This is a well-managed and ultra-professional care home, well-equipped with a high standard of comfort for residents and visitors. The business model for the care home has been well thought through, the building and surrounds are modern and well cared for (though if I venture a little criticism, double bank car parks are never very satisfactory but that's the retired town planner in me). My greatest thanks must go to the management and staff, both nursing and domestic for what they did in my wife's last months, nothing was too much trouble. It was a privilege to meet them every day and I shall miss the care and compassion they extended to my wife and our family. They have my unreserved thanks and admiration for what they did for us.
After Dad suffered a stroke last year, he eventually ended up in an unsuitable care home for several weeks. Since Dad moved into Alexander Mill, he has been much happier and content, and his mobility has improved. Though he suffers from mild dementia this is no longer a concern to us as the care he is receiving is excellent. All the staff make an effort to communicate with him even if they are just passing on their way to see another resident. He is always saying how well they look after him and how nice the staff are. He is also very happy with the choice and quality of the food. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. The entertainment and therapy sessions are also excellent and well-organised.
Alexandra Mill is like no other care home! At 93 and following a series of falls and a spell in hospital, my father made the decision that he needed help with day-to-day living. After a not-so-satisfactory time in another local home, Alexandra Mill opened, and my father and I went to investigate. The resident experience manager was first-class and extremely welcoming. The senior nurse interviewed my father, and he was accepted! He took up residence and has never looked back. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. When I visit, I am always greeted and am part of the family. The manager has answered all my questions. Would highly recommend!
My mother moved into Alexandra Mill in November 2023. Since being in the home, she has become more outgoing and joins in regularly with activities. She has commented that the staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. From a family point of view, we are very impressed with Alexandra Mill and the standard of care that Mum has received.
Having just experienced Dad’s first care plan review we couldn’t be happier with the quality of care and support that Dad is receiving. The depth and extent of the discussion were highly valuable and demonstrated the superb nature of the care that Dad is receiving.
