View Full Details of Angelcare Residential LivingAt very short notice, I needed a care home for my Uncle who had been in hospital with life-changing injuries for several months. Angelcare assessed him quickly and very quickly afterwards offered him a room. My Uncle has numerous injuries, Parkinson's Disease and memory loss, and I needed somewhere that would look after him with dignity and respect. Angelcare has gone above and beyond with the care for him, and the facilities on-site are exceptional. A very short time later, his brother also needed more care, and the home initially offered me daycare for him, which gave him the chance to spend time with his brother, but also for him to get used to the home before he also became a full-time resident. The difference in both of them in such a small space of time is remarkable and each time I visit I feel they are genuinely cared for to the highest standards. The food is fantastic, the on-site bar is a bonus, the rooms are decorated superbly, it's warm, cosy, and a home from home.
I am unable to visit my Aunt as often as I would like. I am confident that she is receiving first-class care and that I will be contacted if necessary. She is happier than she has been in years. My aim was to find a home that compared to the 'hotel life' my Aunt had been used to in her 'hay days'. Angelcare fits the bill perfectly. The staff are excellent and attentive. The food and entertainment are amazing. I'm very happy with the communications I receive and the kindness the staff show me and my Aunt. Couldn't be happier or more relieved that we found Angelcare.
My mum had a bad fall and needed respite coming out for hospital, mum is 89 and really wanted to be back home with a little bit of help, but a after a few weeks in Angelcare Residential Living, mum was settled and so well looked after. mum started calling Angelcare home. I could write so much but if I was reading the review for my loved ones all I would want to read is, the staff are amazing, kind, have time for my mum. Angelcare is clean, never smells, clean towels every day. It's like a hotel and nursing home all in one.
Absolutely first class from start to finish, welcoming friendly, and attentive. They sorted my Dad out to the point where he was able to move back home and look after himself after 3 weeks in hospital, 5 months in respite allowed him the time he needed to recover.
Angel Care staff and facilities allowed Dad to heal superbly after being very unwell having spent several weeks in hospital. He is now back at his home after 5 months of rest-bite care. As a family, we were always warmly welcomed to attend events and support Dad's recovery. Dad ate very well and managed to build up some of the weight that he had lost, which was thanks to the chefs and staff. We felt very lucky to have found such a home and continue to be thankful.
I'm very thankful for the professional caring support shown to Dad and our family at a difficult time. All the staff members can't do enough for either Dad or ourselves. We experienced nothing more than a warm welcoming home were Dad and our family enjoyed the food and activities which were personalised as much as possible with lots of varied entertainment.
Having just moved into a home of my own for the first time in over 60 years I luckily came across Angelcare through friends in a similar position who have guided me through the difficult task of finding a home of my own in completely different circumstances. I was very lucky to be helped by various times and people to the Angelcare community who have led me through the Angelcare association to the loving care and helpful family through to the loving care to the rest of my life.
My mother-in-law has been in here 2 years. The home has worked tirelessly to try to motivate her, to get her to experience day trips out, offer the option of any food that will encourage her to eat, the manager and his team are truly amazing nothing is too much trouble.
My Mum has been at Angelcare for over a year now. As soon as she moved in she was made to feel welcome and once settled became part of the Angelcare family. All the team and Angelcare are caring, friendly, and professional. When visiting as soon as you walk through the door you are made to feel welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending Angelcare to anyone.
A huge shout-out to Angelcare. The care my dad has received since arriving has been outstanding. All the staff demonstrate a deep core value of respect and professionalism. These values are reflected in the compassionate holistic care he has received. This has also been extended to our whole family. My dad has always been happy to engage and keen to learn new things. Despite his limitations, his autonomy is respected and regular social events ensure he feels part of a wider community. I know he is happy at Angelcare. He looks healthy and even a bit younger. It's a huge comfort.
The staff are very caring and look after my stepmother very well. She has dementia and doesn't usually remember who I am but always says how lucky she is to be in Angelcare (she often says it several times in one conversation). The food is good and her room is always clean and there are several organised activities each week.
Both my parents were admitted to Angelcare in 2020, following hospitalisation. My Mum died about two years ago, and my Dad at the end of May. The care that they received was wonderful, and caring. The staff are professional, and they are always open to new ideas and welcomed us as a family rather than as clients. Residents are encouraged to join in events, and there are regular visits for those who wish outside the home. They are kept stimulated with various events involving for example visiting musicians, children, and pets. They let us know of any changes in condition, speedily and with compassion. My parents couldn't have had better care in their later years.
I would like to start by saying thank you, but thank you does not seem to be enough. Thank you for the care that you gave to not only Mum but to our family too. The care and compassion that we all received were truly of gold standard. The advice and assistance that you gave to me personally when it became obvious that Mum could no longer be safe to stay in her own home, was reassuring and the perfect advice of what was best for Mum. Special thanks go to the two ladies who looked after Mum at her own home. Also, the 3 members of staff who looked after Mum in her final days. Mum had a special smile for those that she liked and, I am sure every one of you received at least one of those each during your time together. You welcomed us into your family and treated us as normal people, not to be held at arm's length, but embraced with love and care. We could never have found a better more caring place for Mum to spend her final months. All in all a wonderful home environment.
This is an extremely well-run and organised business. The staff are very understanding and very helpful. They spend good time with my relative! The premises are very well presented and enjoyable to the visitors.
I have been very impressed with the care home, it has excellent care and safety procedures with well-trained staff and well-organised and very professional management staff. The home is indeed a home and has excellent rooms and facilities with entertainment and activities for residents. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any prospective users as I know my mum is happy and safe there.
I cannot speak highly enough about Angelcare Residential Living! My mother has advanced Parkinson's and I live abroad, therefore making it very difficult to see her on a regular basis. The whole team at Angelcare have been nothing but amazing, the care they give my mother is second to none. They are gentle and considerate of her needs and also very communicative with me, letting me know the slightest change in her condition. I am truly grateful for everything they do for her, if I could add a few more stars to the 5 already, then I would. Thank you Angelcare team!
The care provided by Angelcare Residential Living is how you would wish to be cared for. For my mother's birthday, I mentioned that she loved The King and I and that it was on at the theatre for a week. I felt that it was probably the last time that she may be up for going out to the theatre. But as I don't live in the area and was driving home that evening, and my mother's birthday was that week I thought that it would be difficult to arrange. Anyway, before the end of the day, I was informed that it was arranged for Mum to go with someone the following Saturday. It is because of these efforts that this place and the team working there are special. They go above and beyond.
The improvement in my friend's outlook and quality of life have improved immensely since being a resident at Angelcare Residential Living, she loves all the activities and the care and attention given by all the staff.
My mother has been looked after in Angelcare Residential Living for over 2 years now. High expectations of/from the home were expected and have been achieved. There are several reasons for this I feel. The management team as they are now has expanded to increase accessibility to information etc. when needed about her care. Easy to communicate with and relevant information passed on without 'flim flam'. The staff there have remained fairly consistent over this period of time with a core of experienced staff remaining which is excellent for the continuity needed in this environment as they know my mother and her foibles well. New younger staff generally have remained. Many activities are organised, integration takes place in all forms, food is well thought out, staff is attentive and friendly. They do an excellent job in what I think of as a difficult environment. Rehabilitation and anything else that is required takes place within house. All good.
When my mum went into Angelcare she weighed 7 stone, she was depressed and offered little or no communication. Since going into the home, she now weighs a healthy 9 stone, she has her hair done twice a week and she loves having her nails done. Mum has been on all the trips, she loves going out with the team. Recently Mum has started to enjoy a game of Bingo, something she has never done before. On her milestone birthday, she was treated like a queen, nothing is too much trouble for the team. Mum has the flexibility to wander downstairs or stay in her room. Mum has been able to take her own pictures etc. which makes it more home from home. Fresh fruit is available in her room together with the odd bar of chocolate, her favourite treat. I can't praise Angelcare highly enough.
