View Full Details of Aspen Lodge Residential Care HomeOur relative was a resident of Aspen Lodge Care Home for four and a half years. During her latter months, she was receiving end-of-life care. As her closest family members (nephew and stepdaughter) we wish to thank the team at Aspen for the care, respect and kindness that they showed to our relative throughout, particularly during her last months when she had especially demanding health issues. Their commitment both to her well-being and to the concerns of her family were always foremost and we are comforted that this was her home at her most challenging time.
If you're looking for a care home where your loved one will be treated like one of the family, then this is definitely the place for them. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a more loving, caring environment for my uncle. He had some learning difficulties but the connection he had with the staff was absolutely amazing and so heartwarming to see. Despite his cancer diagnosis, there was still plenty of laughter and happiness. In the last few days of his life, I stayed with him at the home and everyone was so kind to both him and to me - I felt one hundred per cent supported and never felt like I was dealing with it all on my own. I was given food and drinks, kind words and hugs. On a few occasions, the staff encouraged me to have some time out in a quiet lounge when everything was getting too much, and although I didn't think I needed it at the time, the difference it made to me was huge. The staff's help and their kind words come from a place of experience and love. Just wonderful.
My mum has been there since March 2021, they have always taken the best care of her throughout her stay until she passed away. They made sure she was comfortable and arranged palliative care for her. I was always kept informed of her health and any problems that arose. They have been very supportive of me, very caring, I can't thank them enough.
My dad was admitted to Aspen Lodge for end of life care and was there for 2 weeks. The management and staff were absolutely amazing, not only in their care of my dad but also in the way that they looked after us as well. Nothing was too much trouble for them, dad was treated with the respect and dignity he deserved and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that the family were looked after too. Even though there was quite a lot of us visiting, there were no restrictions on numbers and they allowed us to stay overnight with him during his last few days. I cannot praise these wonderful people enough for everything they did for our family during a very sad time and for helping dad to pass peacefully and with the dignity he deserved. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this sad time a little more bearable for us.
