View Full Details of Aspen Manor Care HomeGood quality support by well-trained staff. Accommodation is simple but comfortable and well-maintained. The food is appropriate and variable. I arrived with fairly low expectations but I was quite impressed by the effort constantly evident.
Aspen Manor is an outstanding care home in every aspect. It does not have the look or feel of a conventional home and looks more like large apartments on the outside and a modern 5-star hotel on the inside. My mum (who was reluctant to go into any home) loves it at Aspen Manor. She is treated like family by everyone and has made some great friends. I have seen how well my mother is cared for and she always sends positive texts about how well she is looked after. Her only slight critique has been about the selection/quality of the food. I would recommend Aspen Manor to everyone.
Dad was at Aspen Manor for less than 5 weeks. We visited multiple times a day and witnessed such genuinely caring people working there. The receptionists always gave us the warmest of welcomes. The senior nurses showed real care and kindness, they went above and beyond and were always on hand. The wonderful carers went to such great lengths to encourage Dad to eat and drink, which must have made a massive difference. The activities team often came to check on him and us, despite him being unable to partake in any activities. The brilliant and kind maintenance, housekeeping and office staff made an equally positive impact and we know the night and kitchen staff did so much behind the scenes. That so many came to offer their condolences after he'd passed away was incredibly comforting. It was clear they all cared greatly. I visited 18 homes before I found Aspen Manor. I'd been dreading moving Dad, the care he was receiving in hospital was excellent and the home he'd been at previously hadn't cared for him well. He settled in brilliantly and was so happy there, its outstanding staff, superb food and first-rate room and facilities.
The care my father was given was excellent. The care, compassion and understanding demonstrated by the staff helped reassure my father that he would be happy at Aspen Manor when he first arrived, and this continued for the fifteen months he stayed at the home. In his last few months, the attention to detail in making sure he was always comfortable was obvious and greatly appreciated by our family. I highly recommend Aspen Manor.
The home is very friendly and welcoming. We find the care given to my mother and father very good and the staff are very caring. We are always informed when there are any issues. However, we would welcome a regular update on my parents' well-being and care. Currently, we have to ring or speak to the home to find out how they are doing and what treatment they are receiving.
Staff are very professional and attentive from the receptionist all the way through to the cleaners. The Customer Relationship Manager is very approachable and hands-on, taking any queries on board and acting effectively. Mum has settled well and appears happy and content. As a family, we can relax knowing that she is being very well looked after. Aspen Manor is very bright, clean, hotel standard, modern, and a pleasant environment for the residents and their families when they visit, they even have a play area for the kids!
Every member of staff I have met at Aspen Manor Care Home has been kind, thoughtful, helpful, friendly, and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. They clearly care about the residents - and not just day-to-day care - but about getting to know them, what they like, what helps them, what makes them happy, and listening to their story. There is genuine affection when talking about those in their care. I was also greatly touched to see the staff treating everyone with dignity. This extends out to the families. Navigating finding the right care for a loved one is distressing, and they worked with us with such empathy, they made a stressful and unsettling time much easier. Any issues are dealt with instantly and with sensitivity and thoroughness. My own personal highlight was having a member of staff take time out of her day to locate some dairy-free milk so I could have a cuppa with my mother-in-law without triggering my allergies. Such small acts of kindness are invaluable.
Aspen Manor is a bright, modern care home with various areas for residents and visitors to enjoy. The bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily and residents become part of a caring, well-run community. The staff on reception understand the needs of the residents and cater accordingly. By 5pm the "front of house" staff finish and the evening staff have less knowledge of needs.
All staff helpful, friendly and caring, rooms very comfortable, and as much like home as it is possible to be. Activities available for those who want them. Food very well cooked. In fact a very safe place for anyone who is no longer as mobile as normal.
My wife was admitted for 1 week of respite care for her Alzheimer’s condition. This was the first time she has been at a care home. From her initial admission up until me picking her up 7 days later, she has received excellent care and support. The carers even managed to get her to mix with the other residents during meal times. My wife has not wanted to mix with strangers for some months now. The home is modern and spotlessly clean. All of the staff I met or spoke to on the phone were friendly, professional and were able to answer all questions. I will happily use this home again when she next has a period or respite.
I cannot rate Aspen's Care highly enough. The staff are friendly and caring and the care and attention my Dad received in his last weeks were amazing. The care, the nursing, the food, and the welcome for visitors were outstanding. He was included in the activities at all times and we are so grateful.
February was the last month of my husband's stay (a year) as he passed away on the 23rd of February. During his last month, he was looked after and cared for extremely well. He was kept clean and comfortable and all his needs were well catered for. The care and consideration given to myself and his family was also excellent. His whole stay at Aspen Manor made his last year as good as it possibly could be and his ongoing health problems were handled with care and compassion.
My father-in-law was suffering with Parkinson's and dementia when he came into Aspen Manor Care Home so he needed a lot of care. He certainly got all that and more from the caring staff. When he got so poorly and it looked like he may have to go into hospital, his wife, of sixty-plus-years, pleaded with the staff to keep him in Aspen Manor because that's how highly she thought of the place. They did exactly that and he passed away peacefully there.
The care my grandad received from the team at Aspen Manor was exceptional. All of the staff went above and beyond to make it his second home, and to make us feel welcome. Everyone who cared for Grandad was so personable and their caring, lovely nature really shone. In an incredibly difficult time, it was made easier by knowing he was receiving first-class care. A beautiful home with an outstanding team.
My grandad came into your care at the start of his deterioration and the level of care during each stage was always excellent. He was accompanied to my wedding with one of the carers who took great care of him. The staff always treated him with such dignity which was one of our initial concerns having him in care. We are very appreciative of how you all looked after him and truly cared. Thank you.
I can't rate Aspen Manor highly enough. My dad spent 2 months there and the care he was given was amazing, the carers went above and beyond to look after him, we went in every day to see Dad and not once did we find anyone unhelpful. They were all so kind. In my opinion, you'd struggle to find better.
I was hoping for a lot more understanding, compassion and effective staffing at the home but sadly their overall service let my mother down. One related to a safeguarding event and others involved a lack of communication on a number of occasions, especially during my mother's deterioration in health over the last 2 months in particular. Effective communication appears somewhat lacking and is a major weakness. There were four main positives, the fact my Mum did not have a fall in the 3 months she was there and secondly 2 staff members were very kind towards Mum, the hairdresser was kind and the food was good.
My mum came to Aspen Manor for four weeks of respite care and she wasn't sure at first but came to like it. The staff were lovely and very caring, she came home a new person much more like her old self. Her mobility was much improved due to the staff encouraging and motivating her to be more independent. We will definitely return if she should need respite or more permanent care. I would definitely recommend Aspen Manor. We particularly enjoyed having coffee together in the bistro area.
I came into Aspen Manor when in need of urgent care after an infection, instead of planned respite two weeks later. We very much appreciated the flexibility and understanding shown. Everybody is willing to accommodate our requests. We would have liked staff to undertake walking assistance as requested by the physio. Each time we had to remind them several times and sometimes it was done around 10pm or not at all. It was suggested that we should send a photo of the socks (as we couldn't mark them) but we have still not received two pairs of socks that were laundered, one all royal blue and one with coloured dots on a dark background. Skin lotion also missing.
Aspen Manor has a great staff of professional caring people that work together and deal with all the issues to manage the best quality of life - elderly or adult needing care. The staff are really great, very responsive to feedback and family input is integral to the care package. I feel very fortunate to have Aspen Manor to be available and provide much-needed residential care at a critical time for our family.
Good quality support by well-trained staff. Accommodation is simple but comfortable and well-maintained. The food is appropriate and variable. I arrived with fairly low expectations but I was quite impressed by the effort constantly evident.
