View Full Details of Badminton PlaceMy father moved into Badminton Place on 6th November 2024. The facilities are first class and the hospitality and acceptance that he has received from all members of staff has been second to none. On 30th Jan 2025, he celebrated his 103rd birthday and again all members of staff provided him with a birthday party to remember, for which he and our family are extremely grateful. We as a family are so pleased that he is comfortable and well cared for in this super establishment, and once again I cannot thank all the staff enough for their support and understanding in helping Dad adjust to his new environment.
Exceptional from start to finish! Requested an assessment and was moved in within three days. The whole team pulled out all the stops to make it happen. Care plan in place, registered at doctors etc., all done. All staff, without exception, are helpful and kind, could not do enough. One particular staff member even came to work early, to ensure all clothes were labeled and put away. I have no doubt, I have the best care home for my cousin and the look of joy on her face when she arrived confirmed that. Thank you all so much.
Lovely place but that's about it. Unbelievable amount of neglect towards the patients that family and friends have witnessed and brought to the staff's attention, which most just ignored. Sadly told my mum had passed away from a heart attack but now have find out she had choked to death (ongoing enquiry). At least 10 managers have left since my mums care started and the few good staff they've had have all left. Don't be fooled by the looks of the home. The care is disgusting and boarding on inhumane.
The staff at Badminton Place have been very supportive and helpful, answering all our questions to help my father settle in. He has been here four days and is beginning to understand that he only has to ask to get his questions answered. There have been a few hiccups along the way but the staff have dealt with them professionally and speedily. The food is excellent, surroundings very comfortable and the staff are kind and caring.
My dad has only been here since the 29th of October after staying 4 weeks in another home. From first impressions, not only is the home beautiful, the staff are so kind and friendly and nothing is too much of a bother for them. I would highly recommend it already! The standard of care and attention to residents is top of the scale.
I visit my friend, who sadly lives with dementia. My friend appears to be happy and contented. The home is very lovely, caring and attentive nursing home, nothing is too much trouble. There has been some disruption with management and staff change recently and sometimes it feels that there is not enough staff on duty to help. This has worried me and impacted on my expectations of my friend being looked after and heightened my anxiety of the unknown however I can truly say that, whilst still a little nervous and apprehensive, I have seen lots of new faces and long-standing staff throughout the home. (Not where they are usually as staff have been moved around). Everyone is always busy but staff and the new management always manage to find the time to chat with me, even if it feels like a quick hello. It is refreshing and reassuring to see the manager out and about chatting to residents and visitors and hugging staff! The home is starting to feel homely and relaxed. Thank you.
My husband spent two weeks in Badminton Place receiving respite care. It is fair to say he would prefer to be at home but he came home saying his experience was good. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The food was excellent and the care given was good, very good in some cases. I was impressed by the management's help in setting up the two-week care, especially providing a recliner chair to make his visit possible. The staff are all welcoming and helpful and I am very grateful to them for looking after him, and me so well.
We attended the bingo and bubbles event with Dad on Wednesday. It was so nice to see all the residents' families and staff taking part and enjoying the fun! The food was excellent with the most amazing selection of desserts, both beautiful to look at and delicious to eat! A huge thank you to everyone for all your hard work, it was much appreciated.
We came to see our uncle for the first time. We were extremely pleased with the whole experience of our visit. The staff were happy and very helpful. We came on the day when the lady was singing, excellent.
I required respite after an operation. Marketing was excellent however, it did not follow through. All the staff were caring and professional. Badmington Place is rated 5 stars, I unfortunately do not feel this is warranted. On my first night, I found my emergency button didn't work, stains on the carpet, general cleanliness of rooms and lifts was poor. Food and especially management are very hit and miss, (too many chiefs). Three stars!
I found the care home just wonderful. The staff are all first-class and such lovely people.
Mum has been thriving whilst at Badminton Place. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. Her room is lovely, and she appreciated the roses in her room when she first arrived. The whole place is like a five-star hotel.
My close friends have been in care at Badminton Place for the last two years and have thoroughly enjoyed their experience. The attention of care by the staff (including support staff) has been exceptional. The Badminton team is always in contact should there be an issue or a change in living conditions. I find their proactive approach to my friend's needs a definite asset in an industry where so many others are left unattended and neglected. This care home, by other standards, sets the bar very high, yes costly but I don't think you can put a price on a loved one's health and care. Keep up the great work.
Terrible experience with a high turnover of staff including management and also staff who can be exceptionally rude. At one point I witnessed 4 staff doing a jigsaw together and totally ignoring the residents in their "care". They frequently rush lunchtimes and do not allow the residents time to finish their lunches independently, preferring to feed them, which I feel does not support their dignity and starts to make them more dependent. My experience on one occasion was that a resident was eating play dough, and on another, my father was left sitting in wet clothing shivering without socks or a jumper - the excuse was, "he must have spilt something". There appears to be a significant problem with theft as several brand new items of clothing have vanished whilst others have been shredded from new in less than 3 months. The dining room floor has not been properly washed and the table legs have food detritus on them. This causes numerous flies in this area which is not sanitary.
My parents both moved into Badminton Place in October 2023. It was a difficult transition for them both, being a traumatic and sudden change of circumstances. Since their arrival, my mother has commented on several occasions that they both feel very well looked after; the regular staff have got to know them both well and respond positively to their needs and requests. In particular, my father (who has dementia) has benefited enormously from having a greater interaction with both staff and residents.
Following my own personal experience I would not recommend anyone to leave their loved ones in this facility, four managers in the space of just over a year! Appalling service for residents, extremely high turnover of staff and many agency staff.
A beautiful facility that is sadly let down by insufficient staffing and a lack of coordination with an ever-changing stream of agency staff and the loss of key people. The basic daily care especially personal hygiene has been insufficient over 7 months despite excellent senior carers attempting to hold things together.
From when we were first shown around, the care taken to help my father to have all his needs met, making sure the room was arranged right, and trying different foods to help with his eating problems. Dad's health has improved under the care of the home. This care home has totally changed my view of care homes, it is so good.
The staff at Badminton Place have gone above and beyond when welcoming my granddad. The care and attention has exceeded our expectations as they truly give a personal touch to each individual. Helping him to settle in where he is very happy. Fun activities, day trips and themed socials! My grandad is quite unique in his ways and it's extremely reassuring to see the relationships that the staff have with him. It's changed my view on care homes - it's somewhere I would recommend highly.
My mother was in Badminton Pace for 15 months till she passed away. The place is amazing - such a lovely environment. The services that are provided at the cost make it a good value for money. The private dining is a great idea for families and friends to visit - made my mum and her family feel at home with great food and drinks included. Can't recommend enough. The head carer is amazing and so caring.
