View Full Details of Blatchington ManorMy mother became a resident at Blatchington Manor about a year ago. I believe she was happy during her time there. She certainly enjoyed the music and the singing. My experience of staff from every part of the organisation has been extremely positive. They always have a welcoming smile, a supportive demeanour and a kind word. The care of my mother during the last two weeks of her life was exemplary. There was huge attention to detail, excellent communication with myself and the family and a sense that 'nothing was too much trouble'. It is a great comfort to me to know that my mother was so beautifully looked after at the end of her life. As a retired nurse I fully appreciate the skilled nature of the work that you do. Not only the practical element of the work, but also the empathy demonstrated by all the staff. The ability to consistently demonstrate such an empathetic attitude is a credit to all those individuals - but also the organisation within which they work.
Fantastic care home, more like a hotel than a home, clean, friendly, nothing is too much trouble, lovely atmosphere, food is amazing, carers interact with the residents. Overall, an amazing care home, thank you.
My mum went into Blatchington Manor Care Home just over 6 months ago. We really didn't want my mum to go into a home but she needed, by then, 24 hour care which we were unable to give her. The staff have been amazing, nothing is too much to look after my mum. Whenever I leave mum, I know she will be really well looked after and they treat her with the respect and dignity she deserves. The food is lovely, with a varied menu each day, which my mum loves, and now eats foods she would not eat before. The building is always clean and the facilities and activities that my mum does each day are amazing. Every staff member treats my mum like their own mum and also know every resident by their first name and nothing is too much. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Blatchington Manor Care Home for being an amazing support to my mum, myself and my family.
My father went into Blatchington Manor from hospital for 2 months whilst we moved house to enable him to return home again. We cannot fault the care he received there. Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful. His room was beautiful with a view over the garden. The whole place is kept immaculately clean. The food was very good. We viewed several other homes before Blatchington Manor and hated them, we worried we wouldn't find anything suitable but Blatchington Manor restored our faith. We will have no hesitation in arranging respite care there for my father whenever necessary, we know he'll be happy there and we'll be confident in the care he'll receive. A beautiful home with an excellent team of people.
I visit my mother once a week and take her out to lunch. She is always prepared and dressed, ready to go. On arrival, I am greeted by staff and management, who are polite and courteous and are all well informed about my mother and her needs. This is Mum's second care home, and the difference in the care, treatment and activities is palpable. It is an hour's travel for me, but it's worth it for Mum's care and happiness.
After a fifty-year relationship, it was a big shock to see my partner go into care but Blatchington Manor staff were unfailingly supportive. As my partner has Lewy body dementia, his physical and mental capacities have declined at different rates but care staff have adapted to these challenges. As a gay couple, I appreciate the way staff are sensitive to this and draw back to allow me to feed my partner and listen to music in privacy.
My mum has been a resident since January 2022 and we have been really happy with the home and the quality of care she receives. She has at times been difficult to look after with increasing agitation due to the progress of her disease and staff have managed this with kindness and respect. The communication from the home has been excellent with incidents concerning our mum detailed on the app and by phone call. The house and garden are lovely and all staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks so much for what you do
I have found the staff at Blatchington Manor to be most caring, helpful and always pleasant to both residents and visitors. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them! Due to no fault of the management and staff, I have witnessed a big turnover of employees during the time I have been visiting my sister in Blatchington. They certainly deserve a better remuneration for their great work!
I have been delighted with this care home. I had looked after Mum at home for seven years so this decision was a difficult one... but she has settled so well. The staff are really kind, they listen and have worked out what is the best care for her. She looks less anxious and has told me that it is nice there. There is much for her to join in with or just observe. The surroundings are lovely. Blessed to have found this place.
Mum has been a resident at Blatchington Manor for over two years. All members of the team take a real interest in Mum and genuinely care about her well-being and happiness. We're kept updated during our regular visits and can arrange meetings to discuss how best to meet Mum's changing needs, as well as email correspondence. Family and visitors are always welcome at any time - including Mum's dog. The activities team are very committed to enhancing the experience of residents throughout the day and evenings. We're impressed by the range and frequency, e.g. singing, dancing, quizzes, crafts, art, rickshaw rides to the beach; walking to the local church; visits to local nurseries and schools; celebrations and events. Everywhere is clean, bright and comfortable. The garden areas are stunning. It was a hard decision to place Mum in a care home but the environment and the people helped to settle her. We're reassured she is better supported with all that's on offer and she is safe and secure.
The staff here are amazing. The care and consideration shown to my partner is always excellent. He is fully supported in every aspect of life and benefits from the activities. I personally feel confident that he is looked after and the staff also support me in this difficult transition. Thank you.
The quality of service at Blatchington Manor has been outstanding. My mother-in-law has been in respite for a few weeks now and every member of staff is professional, kind, caring and 'can do'. The staff are always client-centric and make it their business to know what each client needs, at every level, to make their stay at Blatchington Manor a comfortable and quality experience. The registered, deputy and wellbeing managers are visible and always willing to listen and engage with clients and families. They even take turns making the coffee for families. We have been so lucky finding a place for her at Blatchington Manor during what is, of course, difficult times for families.
The kindness, patience and care that my father has received from all staff at Blatchington are really exceptional. It was a hard decision to place him in a home, but they have not only supported him through the settling-in period but me as well. He’s eating much better as a result of the quality and variety of food, sleeping better, joining daily activities and looks more cared for than he has in years.
Outstanding! All the staff are so kind and very experienced in dementia care. The home is spotless. Thank you everyone for your continued hard work through difficult times. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for first class dementia care for their loved ones.
Excellent impeccable care for my lovely mum. The staff are kind, thoughtful and professional. I cannot recommend more highly.
Very supportive service, based on kindness and excellent knowledge of dementia and a real sense of genuine caring. The staff have helped enormously with the transition of moving my mum to their home. It has been hard emotionally for the whole family.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely building and a well managed facilty.
Since my mother moved into Blatchington Manor, the care has been second to none. The staff are very caring and empathetic towards the residents and family. Very communicative, keeping you updated with all arising issues and always answering any questions. A big thank you for the love and support you show my mother.
My wife has been a resident at Blatchington Manor for 18-months and settled in very well. We were very apprehensive about how things would turn out, but we struck lucky with Blatching Manor. The care, warmth, professionalism and treatment to both residents and relatives are first class. At no time is there any sense of being just a customer or a number, every member of staff is kind and helpful. It is obviously a well-run company from the top-down and gives the impression of caring for residents as well as a profit.

I looked at many care homes but when I walked into the Manor I knew immediately it was the place for Mum. The warmth, friendliness and caring environment is tangible. It doesn’t feel like a home, more like a hotel. The staff are truly wonderful - I haven’t met a single one that is anything but a true carer - happy, friendly, and really do care for their guests. I hated having to put Mum into care but am so happy to have found Blatchington Manor. Mum’s happy, always busy, and doesn’t understand why she can live in ‘such a lovely hotel’.
