View Full Details of Bowfell HouseMy mother-in-law only moved in last week and she was made to feel welcome straight away. She has settled in straight away with people to talk to and activities she enjoys. The staff and the other residents are all so friendly and helpful not just to my mother-in-law, but to all of us as a family. We have seen a huge change in her over the week for the better and we are so happy that we moved her. Well done, Bowfell House and thank you.
My mum moved into Bowfell House very recently, where she has been so warmly welcomed. On her first afternoon, lots of staff popped into her room to say hello and to introduce themselves, which was amazing, although quite a few of the staff are young, they are very caring, helpful and are a credit to themselves and the management team at Bowfell House. The transition into the home was made easy for me, by the staff, from my first inquiry to Mum moving in and after seeing how Mum is responding to everyone, it makes me feel I have made the right decision. Everything the staff do to care for my mum has been done with courtesy and genuine warmth! Thank you to all, at Bowfell House.
Love it here. Staff are lovely. Food lovely. I enjoy the activities very much, and I have made friends. I am very happy here.
My mum has been a resident for only three months, but she was made to feel so welcome that it took her only one week to settle in. She enjoys all aspects of life at Bowfell and has made many friends. She is enjoying her life again, and I have not seen her so happy for a long time, and as a consequence, our relationship is so much better. This was the best move.
Good feel to the home. I feel the meals are good
Since my mother moved into Bowfell House, the level of care she has received has had a noticeably positive effect on her. We have seen a high level of personal care from all members of a highly motivated and well-trained staff, which has quickly allowed her to feel happy and secure in her new environment. Communications, both specific and general, are always excellent. The activities and special events are consistently well planned and encourage participation from residents and family members and it is clear that the staff really do care about the role that they play in people's everyday lives. Bowfell House was chosen after careful consideration of a number of options and we are very pleased with the decision. We would highly recommend Bowfell House and its staff at all levels.
Since my brother was placed at Bowfell, I can only say what a difference we as a family have seen in my brother. He has become very popular with the staff and residents. They have made him feel part of the team and organisation. He calls this his home with support when needed. All the staff go beyond to ensure my brother and other residents' needs are taken care of. In my brother's case, even his independence and dignity. My brother has nothing but praise for the staff and management team. Keep up the good work all and especially, the regular family updates are very refreshing and reassuring, email /social media.
My sister has been a resident at Bowfell House since it opened in October 2018. My sister suffers from dementia and can be challenging to care for. What I find to be utterly amazing is the level of patience, understanding and love extended to my sister and us as a family by every member of staff. From the management team, to every single department. Of course, you expect high standards, but the standards at Bowfell are off the scale. I cannot praise them too highly.
My sister moved into Bowfell House just over twelve months ago and has settled into life there really well. The whole family are delighted with her improvement. I can't speak highly enough of the care provided. Well done Bowfell House.
The team at Bowfell House are exceptional. Warm, caring and professional. Knowing Dad is here gives us peace of mind. We have no doubt that he is in the best hands and feel lucky to have found such a place for him. The activities, menus and additional little touches are all fantastic, however, it is the people that make it outstanding.
I am very satisfied with the venue. The staff are very kind and can be full of fun and treat me well. I don't dislike anything.
Mum has been at Bowfell, just over a year now and in that time the owners and staff have made her feel very welcome and the care has been brilliant. The building is modern and bright with all the facilities you’d imagine. Carers encourage Mum to take part in activities and socialise with other residents without pressure, which she has started to do recently. There’s always plenty going on. You can really tell this is a family run business, which extends to their employees, giving a friendly, welcoming feel. Communication is brilliant and no request is too big, small or trivial. Mum has settled so well, under tough circumstances and I cannot imagine her being happier anywhere else. Thank you all.
Excellent care of Mum, always and happy to help. All staff are attentive, communication is great and Mum is obviously well looked after. She enjoys her own company, but it’s good for her to socialise too and the staff make a point of encouraging her to do this, which is fab.
Myself and the rest of the family are extremely impressed with all aspects of our mum's care at Bowfell House. The management and staff are very caring and always willing to answer any questions. They keep us informed of any events and provide us with information about activities Mum is participating in. The home is very comfortable and modern. It is a safe and happy environment. I would recommend it to anyone in the same position as we were, in choosing a care home for a loved one.
It was a big decision to move into care, but with a progressive disease, it was the best solution, and the home gives me independence with support from the staff at all levels. Care is a small word with a big meaning, and they treat me as l would expect to be looked after. The owners made a home that because it was purpose-built, could cope with the needs of residents 24/7 with everything that was needed to hand. Care is what the world needs more of, and I believe Bowfell gives it to the highest standard.
Mum has been in the care home for almost 4 months. She settled in immediately, due to the care and attention of the staff. She has been encouraged to participate in all activities and I am comforted in the knowledge, that my mum is receiving such good care.
During the past year of my mum’s residence, the whole team has worked really hard to communicate and facilitate contact for us, in regularly changing pandemic times. Their care and communication has been person-centred and information on all aspects of care has consistently been shared with us, in a timely and caring manner. Transition to this type of living was never on Mum’s radar (or ours). The whole staff team has been excellent, helping and encouraging Mum’s transition, with a personalised and holistic approach. Individual team members have been great and the caring ethos of the home shines through, across all the staff functions that we come into contact with. A good move for Mum and a good move for the wider family too. Thank you.
My mum went into Bowfell House in January 2022 and since arriving she has had nothing but praise for the care and attention she is receiving, from the carers and staff. The staff have always made us welcome when visiting mum.
My mother moved into Bowfell House towards the end of January. This was a difficult time for her, but she was made very welcome. The staff have been very supportive and have readily responded to requests and queries from both my mother and family. The atmosphere in Bowfell is bright and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.
After another year of covid and restrictions, Bowfell House did an amazing job as they did the previous year in 2020. Our mum has been a resident for almost 5 years now and she continues to be cared for, to the highest standard and quality of care, despite a deterioration in her health due to dementia. We, as a family have very few concerns regarding Mum's care/life at Bowfell House and if we did, they would be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Most importantly, our mum is happy, well cared for, well-fed, warm and always clean, and the social, activities team are a joy. There is always something going on, whether it’s a creative activity, an eating activity, or physical activity. Everyone is able to join in at some point, in some way. Once again, our thanks go to everyone, the management who run the home meticulously and each member of staff at Bowfell House, for their care and kindness to our mum.
