View Full Details of Bury Lodge Care HomeI couldn't wish for a nice home for my mum. Mum loves the care that she receives and is always telling me how kind the staff are. It is always a pleasure to visit and I am always made to feel so welcome. The home is spotlessly clean. Any queries I have had are addressed promptly and efficiently. Thank you to all the lovely team, I'm grateful to each and every one of you and so is Mum.
My mother first stayed at Bury Lodge in 2019 for respite care after a spell in hospital. It soon became apparent that she wouldn't be able to manage if she returned to her own home, and she became a permanent resident for a year, until the pandemic lockdown started when we moved her to a facility nearer to where we live. A year later, she asked to return to Bury Lodge as she missed the staff and had felt settled there. She was welcomed back and instantly made to feel 'at home' again. She found the continuity of care one of the most reassuring aspects of her residency. Sadly she was very hard of hearing and had poor eyesight, so was unable to enjoy many of the activities, but loved going to the chapel each week and also enjoyed the book club. She had very restricted mobility, and the staff took great care of her, treating her with kindness and patience. We'd like to thank all the staff for their care. It was so reassuring to know that she was in safe hands until the end.
My mum was a resident at Bury Lodge Care Home for two and a half years. We have always been very happy with the care she received there. It's a small care home in comparison to some of the larger ones I've seen, but this gave it a very personal feel. The care staff are all lovely and very caring and made my mum welcome from the very first day. They have a great range of activities organised for the residents by the activities team such as cooking club and a gardening club, which my mum absolutely loved. There are also day trips organised, plus other entertainment that would visit the home. My mum was always very happy and smiling whenever I visited her and never had any complaints. The admin and management team are very efficient and helpful. All of the staff did an amazing job in taking care of my mum. A big thank you to the whole team at Bury Lodge.
Looked after my mum until her passing with great care and respect. She was very happy with the service she received at Bury Lodge. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. They also made the days after my mum passed as easy as possible for the family.
My mother had been a resident in Bury Lodge for nearly five and a half years from a time when her health and mobility no longer allowed her to live alone in her own property. It was recognised she was in slow health decline. On November 5th, at the age of 94, she passed away, herself happy in the knowledge that her final days would be within Bury Lodge amongst safe and very caring hands. She felt amongst friends and had never complained about the care and attention she was given during her years at the home. As her son and living locally, my own family were permitted access at any time, and equally, none of the family had issues with Bury Lodge. It is always a concern when a loved one has to leave their normal place of living and recognise that a care home is a far better place to spend final years in the comfort of others in a similar situation and with assistance for mobility, activities and outings Bury Lodge was the right choice for my mother. The family would recommend it.
My mum has been a resident at Bury Lodge Care Home for over three years, and in that time I have never heard one word of criticism from her either about the staff or the Care Home itself. She will constantly tell everyone that she is always happy at Bury Lodge, never gets fed up, and hopes she can continue to stay there for the rest of her days. This is a great and well-deserved advertisement for the Home. From the moment she arrived (only a few weeks before Covid came into our lives). Mum was made so welcome by all of the staff. During that very difficult period, the care and attention given to her were exemplary, and have continued to be so ever since. With its calm and friendly atmosphere, Bury Lodge is a wonderful environment for the elderly who are in need of some help and support. It is reassuring to know that my Mum, at the age of 95, is so happy and content, and I can happily go away at times knowing that she is in such capable hands. Many thanks to the manager and all of the staff.
As I am able to get out and about on my own and I self-medicate. My own needs are to be fed and to have my room and bathroom kept clean. The food is good and the portions I am given are generous. I only really know the day staff and they are very friendly and hardworking. My elder brother is also a resident at Bury Lodge Care Home. He is registered blind and has Aspergers Syndrome so his needs are much greater than mine. He is well looked after by the resident staff but sometimes an agency staff member might not appreciate what needs to be done. The rooms are well appointed and the garden is lovely. It is great to be able to grow vegetables for use in the kitchen. There is a good range of activities and outings and The Hideaway is a delight to visit.
There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff, who were lovely, were happy to work as a team, supporting one another.
Bury Lodge looked after my mother extremely well during her recent stay when she was between house moves. They were very flexible, agreeing to her staying on beyond the original dates and even moved her to a more favourable room. She parked her car at the home, which gave her an increased sense of independence.
My mother was a respite care resident at Bury Lodge for ten weeks while she recovered from a fall. The staff were all very friendly and nice and the care that Mum received was excellent. Her condition improved greatly during her time at Bury Lodge and I have no doubt that she would have become a permanent resident there, had it not been so far for the rest of the family to travel. Management and staff are excellent. Highly recommended.
It's always a pleasure to visit. The staff work so hard to ensure the residents are well cared for and happy. It's also spotlessly clean! Fantastic team. Well done.
Mum moved to Bury Lodge when a fall meant she needed respite care. She has dementia affecting her short-term memory, however, was managing to live alone with some help. The fall meant she couldn't do anything for herself, her broken wrist was in plaster. Whilst shocked and disorientated, she settled into life at Bury Lodge over three months, thanks to the diligence, kindness and professionalism of the team. As a family, we have noted how much better she is, than even before the fall. She is more cheerful and much brighter, with good food and plenty of social stimulation, clearly making a difference. The staff are all incredibly kind and respectful of the residents and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Importantly, the place is clean, well kept and a happy place to come to. Mum has decided now to stay in a home, although she is moving purely to be nearer family. Thank you, Bury Lodge team for all you have done for her and us!
My father was lucky enough to be a resident at Bury Lodge. The care he received was amazing and the staff, without exception, were professional, kind, and great fun too. Dad made many new friends amongst his fellow residents during his stay. Whenever we saw and spoke to him, he always had a tale to tell us about his day, usually funny! I am so sad he wasn't with you and us for longer, it was all too soon for us to say a final goodbye to him. He often told us how lucky he felt to be with you and we felt the same. Thank you all at Bury Lodge - you are wonderful people.
Mum moved to Bury Lodge in early 2020, after a stay in hospital. She settled very quickly, her health improved rapidly and she clearly felt comfortable living in her new home. Both my sister and I have noted a significant improvement in Mum’s wellbeing, she looks younger and healthier than she did a year ago. The wide range of activities that is in place for residents to enjoy is excellent. The Manager and staff team have done a fantastic job keeping residents safe and keeping up everyone’s spirits throughout the Covid pandemic. They have faced immense difficulties yet always have a positive attitude, and continue to be kind and caring. Both the Manager and have kept relatives really well informed throughout, which has been so reassuring. I’m very impressed by the high quality of care I witness at Bury Lodge. There is a lovely atmosphere when I visit and it is apparent that Mum is very happy living there. Thank you to the Manager and staff team for doing a brilliant job.
Mum has been at Bury Lodge for 2 years now after a brief spell in hospital and struggling to be on her own. She loves the company and having everything done for her and it gives us great reassurance to know that she is happy there. Management has been extremely supportive (and pragmatic) with regards to visits during Covid - something that we and mum have really appreciated.
My mother has now been a resident at Bury Lodge for nearly three years and has been extremely well cared for in obviously trying circumstances of late. There has been quite a change of staff in the first year or two but this seems to have now stabilized and there are many familiar staff members which I believed helped with my mother's welfare. Unfortunately, dementia has now really affected my dear mother and it is very hard to witness and accept but she always seems comfortable. I would particularly like to mention three carers with who my mother does seem to have the most affinity with.
Bury Lodge look after my mother well.
I have been impressed with the kindness and professionalism of staff and the company in the nearly two years my mum has been here. My mum is very comfortable here. On the occasions when there has been a concern I have been kept informed and I feel confident she is well looked after.
My mother spent the last three and a half years of her life at Bury Lodge. After a two week trial period she made the decision to live there permanently as she was made to feel 'at home' straight away. She settled into life at Bury Lodge very quickly. She had a lovely ground floor room, where she could enjoy private time, but she also enjoyed taking part in the varied social activities scheduled throughout the week. My mother was wheelchair-bound, and staff were always very attentive to her needs always maintaining dignity and kindness. Her close family are very grateful to Bury Lodge that we were able to continue our busy lives, knowing that she was well cared for and happy. We were always made welcome when visiting - able to make ourselves a cup of tea/coffee or have lunch with her in a private dining area. We were told from the outset that we were visiting our mother 'in her home'. Staff were always extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Bury Lodge.
First-class care provided by very caring staff. Always very good at keeping me updated concerning medical issues and appointments. The food is very good and my aunt seems to enjoy it. The activities are excellent and very well run. The residents clearly enjoy them and take part with enthusiasm.
