Mum has been a resident at Caddington Grove Care Home for nearly 4 years. The staff have been wonderful. Mum has received excellent care physically, emotionally and even spiritually. Mum is a committed Christian and she has received loving respect for her faith. Mum probably only has a few days to live but the respect and care she received means she is comfortable and peaceful. I cannot praise the staff enough for all they have done for Mum while she has been at Caddington Grove.
Mum has deteriorated in her health in the last few weeks but the love, care and respect for Mum hasn't. It has been so lovely to see Mum's face light up when a carer comes into the room. I have heard them talk about Mum with such love, care and concern, recalling memories they have at a time of Covid when I couldn't come in. Thank you.
Following the recent passing of my beloved husband, I would like to thank all the staff for the wonderful care he received. My husband spent 10 months at Caddington Grove Care Home and the kindness and care and support shown to him and myself from the nursing team was a huge peace of mind. All the carers worked tirelessly to ensure his comfort and personal care with a special thanks to to one staff member in particular, a wonderful man who went over and beyond and always made my husband smile and took the time to chat with him even though my husband couldn't reply. The admin team in reception were always so welcoming and showed me great empathy when I was quite often having a moment on my way out. What a wonderful team. Thank you all.
Caddington Grove Care Home is not just a care home, it is a family. My nan went into Caddington at the end of July 2024, she was frail, very immobile, isolated and possibly depressed, we'd be caring for her at home for a long time, the idea of letting her go into care was very scary. Caddington welcomed nan with open arms, love care and support, my frail isolated nan became happy and strong, she started interacting for the first time in years, made friends, fell in love with bingo and joined in with everything. I never expected to see this but she felt safe and that's why she could join in, all the care was given with love and a smile. My nan was healthier and happier than I'd seen her in years thanks to Caddington. They gave my nan 6 months of amazing memories and our family exactly the same. My nan's last weeks and days of her life in the care home, were exactly where she wanted to be, she was happy and safe and loved by all. I need more words than the max to really tell you how amazing they are.
My mother came in for respite care after a fall. Everyone was lovely to her. In the two weeks she was there, she was walking again, made a good friend and was joining in activities. Only one thing could be improved - decor of rooms for respite residents, pictures on wall and cushions etc would make it more welcoming. My mum hated the food.
My father was admitted at short notice, as he was unable to return home after being in hospital. The care home dealt with everything and got him settled in quickly.
I find the staff very friendly, helpful and hardworking. Good communication overall. I recently went out on a trip with my mother-in-law, she really enjoyed it. Staff try very hard to make the day out fun for the residents. The night entertainment is great, buffet lovely, residents all join in! Thank you very much.
The improvement and well-being of Mum since being in your care is phenomenal. Mum was sad, drawn and had lost a lot of weight. But since being a resident she has got her natural glow back. Seems a lot happier and has her spirit for life back.
Wow! Just wow! I cannot begin to express just how pleased I am. It has, to date, lived up to and more than I ever expected. I am sure my husband is going to finally get the best care - he so deserves. Thank you, thank you and thank you again.
Helped us out with not even a day's notice, after being let down by another home the day before. Very helpful and polite, to deal with all staff so grateful. Also been invited to still visit and take part in activities. Mother-in-law seemed very happy there. Even got upset when leaving, might not be the cheapest of home, but glad all was good there.
We are so happy with the care Mum receives at Caddington Grove in Dunstable. Caddington is Mum's 3rd care home so we have other experiences to compare with. The staff are so friendly and caring, make time for Mum, and are just kind.
My mother moved into Caddington Grove in June 2023 as she was no longer able to care for herself. From day one, the staff and management were very supportive to both myself, my family and of course my mother. She always looked well cared for, clean and happy to be in their care. My mum’s health declined in January and, after a short stay in hospital, my mum returned to Caddington Grove, but unfortunately she was then bedbound. The staff were amazing and so attentive to her needs and we also really appreciate how caring they were to my sister and I during my mum's last days. This home is ‘the best’ and we would definitely recommend them; the staff get to know the relatives and are very good at ‘updates’ on the relative's care! Thanks to you all for making my mum's last days as peaceful as possible!
Mum moved into Caddington Grove in August and has settled well. It has made a big difference for her to be able to bring her own small items of furniture and her personal pictures and ornaments to her room. Every member of staff has been very friendly and welcoming, including towards visiting friends and relatives. Mum is now able and keen to take part in the many activities and also enjoys visits from her friends and family. Any minor health issues are picked up by staff very quickly and monitored, and escalated to her GP if necessary, which is very comforting for her family to know that she is well cared for. The home is very well maintained and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the maintenance team who have done their part to help Mum to settle. I would certainly recommend Caddington Grove.
Both my parents were residents of Caddington Grove Care Home receiving end-of-life care, my dad most recently and mum about eighteen months ago. The level of care and kindness they both received was excellent, this care and kindness also extended to me and my sister when Dad passed away recently. Although both my parents were only cared for by the home for a short period of time, I would not hesitate to recommend the home. As well as the staff being kind and caring, the home is beautifully decorated and maintained and gives a real "home from home" feel as soon as you walk through the door.
My mum has been here for eight months and the improvement in her has been enormous, despite her Alzheimer’s. She was in very poor health when she first arrived after a time in hospital, bedridden and unable to feed herself. She now spends her days in the lounge, feeds herself and is happy and settled which would have been hard for us to believe given her level of anxiety on admittance. We can’t speak highly enough of the staff who have always treated Mum with care and respect. There is a stable team who we have come to know through our daily visits. Would thoroughly recommend Caddington Grove Care Home, it has truly become a home for our mum.
I have been very impressed by the level of care and concern shown to the resident I support. When she has had issues that have required an ambulance, I have been kept informed and always in the picture about how we should proceed to offer the best care. I have no hesitation in recommending Caddington Grove Care Home.
My stepmother moved in here after a stroke left her unable to live independently. She is loving it! She has a great room, private bathroom, laundry done, three meals a day and a variety of entertainment and activities. We've put some personal items in, e.g. chair, pictures, ornaments and lamps to make it feel like her home. She now takes her medications correctly and has hospital appointments taken care of. She's made new friends but still spends time with her old friends. She's able to go out with friends/relatives to the theatre, cafes and zoo. The staff are friendly and approachable. They are good at giving me any information I need. The move to the care home has meant that we (daughters) feel happy knowing that she is cared for, can't get into any danger and is happy. She's involved in activities in the home that she wouldn't do whilst living at her home. So she's definitely improved her quality of life.
I cannot rate this home and their team highly enough! Unfortunately, my dad was only there a short time as he approached the end of his life but during our time there I experienced a first-class level of care and commitment from a brilliant, dedicated and well-trained team. The truly wonderful staff went above and beyond to meet my dad's needs, as well as trying to look after me too whilst I stayed with him. If you need to find somewhere safe and beautiful where love, care and dignity are the priorities for your family member, look no further than Caddington Grove Care Home!
Mum has been at Caddington Grove Care Home for over three years now and is well looked after. Despite the deterioration in Mum's dementia, the staff still show the same level of care and the ability to engage with her even though she can no longer engage with all the activities. Overall, I am very satisfied with the level of care provided, although the level of staff turnover is a concern. Some continuity would be very welcome.
