View Full Details of Castle GrangeReally pleased with all staff. All very approachable and welcoming. They are taking very good care of my mum. Home is well run and facilities are really well thoughtout and clean. Staff are very aware of my mum's needs and act quickly if anything new arises that needs attention.
I will be eternally grateful to all the staff at Castle Grange for the kindness and care they showed towards my mother. She was with them for over 3 years with advancing Alzheimer's and, due to the disease, had some difficult moments which they always handled with understanding and compassion. They cared for her at the end of her life with so much tenderness, I was blown away. Thank you all so much.
Castle Grange Care Home has been exemplary in every way. Dad was in the home for only a short time, but in that time he blossomed. All the staff were incredible, obviously the care team, but also management admin, catering, maintenance - all were so kind and caring of dad's needs. Wonderful in every way - we just wish dad had lived longer to enjoy it all.
An excellent care home, and the staff was extremely supportive of my Mother who was a resident. The staff took care to make her needs are met and put up with her moments! Towards ourselves always helpful and makes us all very welcome even if we did have to pay £1 for a cup of tea!
So far as I can see from my visit and discussions with the user, all the service options are classed as excellent, with the exception of value for money, I cannot comment on that as I have no other experience to compare it with.
Care for my wife has been exemplary since she was admitted in November 2023. So grateful to all. She has needed extra care due to becoming bedridden after surgery and the love and care of Castle Grange has been a reason for her and me to find strength.
My mum has been a resident at Castle Grange for a while now and is happy and content. The staff and facilities are excellent and give us as a family that she is well looked after and safe.
Pie and pea evening with live music. My aunty has only recently moved into Castle Grange. Was a delight to be able to eat a meal and enjoy the evening with live music with her. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they go above and beyond. It feels like home from home. Please can we have more wonderful social evenings.
I have found that the care my mother-in-law is receiving is excellent. The home is friendly and the facilities are that of a five-star hotel. Her room is beautiful and she could not wish for more. Singers, quizzes and other activities such as crafts take place every week. I could not wish for a better place for her to spend her last years - she is now 96 years old.
Staff always seem very kind, sympathetic, supportive and show lots of empathy towards caring for all residents. We always feel welcome and find the staff have a professional and positive approach and always engaging in activities and daily trying skills supporting the resident. We were so happy when Mum went there at 1st due to COVID it was difficult for us to look around at first, but the online video was brilliant. So pleased she has a lovely bedroom and is well cared for.
I am the next of kin to a resident who moved into Castle Grange just prior to last Christmas. I viewed 4 other care homes prior to the move. Castle Grange is by far the best in the area, in my opinion.
My husband has been resident at Castle Grange for 3 months. He has advanced Alzheimers. In this short the transformation in his health and well-being is breathtaking. Surrounding for his care are really lovely as are all the staff. For first time in his long illness, I can rest assured he is cared for. My sister was discharged from post-intensive care to Castle Grange and her care has been outstanding. We hadn't realised such a wonderful care home existed.
I am so pleased with the care my mother has received since her four-week stay at Castle Grange Care Home. Mum broke her shoulder and as I was away on a cruise and Mum didn't want me to know, the family put her into Castle Grange for a few weeks, she has made new friends and been well cared for by the friendly and hard-working staff. I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of Mum.
Although my husband took time to settle in, the care staff were reassuring, giving him the attention he needed. The support he required was usually available and because he was depressed and needed a lot of reassurance, the staff were very good at giving the support.
Wonderful care home - clean, neat and tidy. Fantastic support by all staff/carers. Plenty of carers/staff per resident. People on call and always available 24/7.
I cannot praise Castle Grange highly enough. The care and compassion shown to my mum were second to none. She was initially reluctant to move there, but within a couple of weeks, was calling it home and was extremely happy. When she passed away, the staff could not have been more caring, helpful and respectful. Having viewed lots of homes and Castle Grange stands out from them all. Highly recommended.
My dad went through a long period of moving from one ward to another in the local hospital, he was very unhappy and wanted to go home! Dad has been at Castle Grange for a few months and views it as his new home, he is getting to know the other residents and introduces them by name. He is happy and contented which makes our whole family thrilled for him. (Dad is 92).
After Mum was having problems in her last care home we moved her to Castle Grange Care Home. We could not be happier with the facilities and care Mum receives. She is treated with dignity, staff spend time with her and the care she gets is exceptional. Mum has dementia and since moving to Castle Grange, Mum seems to have "come back" to her normal self, she is happy and having fun. She has her hair done, generally thoroughly enjoying herself and loves her room and food. She remarks it's like being in a posh hotel and, if in doubt, do not hesitate to place your loved one in this beautiful home.
Due to long travel distance, we arrived at a time normally assumed to be out of hours. Despite this, the management and staff were most hospitable towards us and my mother. My mother was in exceptionally good spirits and the healthiest and happiest we have seen her in many years. Our grateful thanks to the management and staff.
Castle Grange Care Home is a wonderful care home. The building is new, modern and very well appointed. It has a good atmosphere, and a good reputation and the residents seem happy, and well looked after. The food and entertainment are good. The staff are friendly and caring and do their best for residents. Covid has been very difficult for all, and the only points I would make are that communication between staff and residents' families could be better, and one safeguarding issue wasn't fully investigated.
