View Full Details of Chawley Grove Care HomeMum's care at Chawley Grove has been wonderful. All the staff have been so friendly and caring towards her, and also supportive to me, as I have been unwell. Mum always looked immaculate, and her room was always clean and tidy. I have also been amazed at the variety of activities available every day for the residents, so important. I really could not have chosen a better home the whole atmosphere there from reception/office to carers and other staff is one of warmth, kindness and care/concern. Thank you Chawley Grove for taking such good care of mum!!
Mum is well looked after and enjoys the activities.
My mother resided at Chawley Grove Care Home from September 2023 until she sadly passed away on December 19th 2024. I had always been happy with mum's care but it wasn't until she became ill in December 2024 that I realised what an outstanding home that Chawley is - The manager was amazing and very sympathetic to assisting us in allowing mum to die in her home where she was loved and cared for rather than a hospital. In her final days, the love and care provided by the Chawley Team was such a support to me and my family that it made a very difficult time more bearable. During those final days when we stayed there night and day I was able to witness first hand just how well run the home is and how the residents are well cared for and indeed how they cared for me and my family. If you are looking for a true home where your loved one is treated with love and respect, for then look no further, you have found it in Chawley Grove.
I find Chawley Grove Care Home the most comfortable and reassuring place for someone in my condition. I can not think of any more improvements than what what I found here and what you do for me. You provide me with interest and entertainment. I am fond of the view from my bedroom.
I am happy here. I like to find out about the home makers and feel like they are my extended family. I feel that the home is alive with activities and we have interesting things to do if we require. The home looks nice and homely with warm care and flowers.
The staff are simply amazing and friendly, they are always happy to help and go the extra mile for the residents. The atmosphere is always in good spirits and there is also an excellent standard of cleanliness throughout.
Great place, with very friendly and caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble and residents are thoroughly entertained with many excellent activities. A home from home environment. Would quite like to move in myself.
I spent a fortnight's respite at Chawley Grove to help my convalescence after surgery on a fractured wrist and it proved to be one of my better decisions in life. The care and attention I received from the whole team at the home was outstanding. I wanted for nothing, the food was excellent and the warmth of the staff, both individually and collectively was palpable. The facilities, decor, and general ambience is first rate and the whole atmosphere promotes a feeling of being comfortably at home as soon as you walk in the door. There is a varied and imaginative entertainment programme, broad-ranging enough to encompass the varying levels of abilities of the residents and provide little pockets of fun and laughter in what could so easily become a mundane routine. As a fairly well person, I was very impressed with the level of dedication, respect, and unpatronising compassion shown by the staff to people who are quite poor and need TLC, whilst preserving their dignity.
Unable to manage at home post-operatively I stayed at Chawley Grove for a month to regain my strength and to increase both my mobility and confidence. Being well looked after so professionally with access to medical and physiotherapy support enabled me to prepare for returning home. Chawley Grove is welcoming in every way, from the first enquiry to the knowledge that if it was necessary there would be a warm welcome further down the line for a return. Thank you.
My Father only had a short stay at Chawley Grove (7 months) as he sadly recently passed away. It was a lovely place for him to reside and the staff provided very tailored care for him that met his needs. All staff were very friendly, professional and welcoming - nothing was ever too much trouble. It was peace of mind for me that my Father was safe and well looked after. Thank you to everyone at Chawley Grove.
My mum has been a resident at Chawley Grove since it opened back in August 2019. My mum and the home came through the COVID experience which was very traumatic and isolating for her and everyone, including the staff. It has taken much time to rebuild the home team and there have been many staff changes over the past 4 years which has been disruptive and to say the least, given a wildly varying level of care from inadequate to good. During recent months, Hamberley Care Homes have recruited a new manageress. Together with the clinical lead, she has started successfully to rebuild the home and team to give the quality of care and experience that was promised initially and we all wish for. There are still some issues to resolve and the key to this is induction, training, and staff retention which the new manager is addressing and all the while doing fantastic work driving up the standards of care, quality and cleanliness. The manager and the team have made an excellent start.
My mother and brother stayed in Chawley Grove Care Home. Although it was good at the beginning as they both went in for respite, Mum's clothes went missing and my brother, towards the end, refused to eat. I noticed during the late afternoon they were left to get on with things themselves, carers were on their phones. I had a call a few days ago at 7:12 a.m. to say my mum had a fall! I said did she fall out of the bedroom. They said they didn’t know even though the week before they said they checked their rooms every hour during the night! Not good. My mum's clothes are always soiled and my brother is left to get on with it, etc.
Chawley is such a wonderful place to visit, and my friend is very happy here. Everyone is always so welcoming and talkative, and the atmosphere is bubbly and positive; everyone has a moment to smile and say hello! The activities they get up to from time to time are out of this world, and the care they give to residents is top-notch - always done with a touch of extra care.
I cannot recommend Chawley Grove Care Home highly enough. My Dad at 97 is thriving under their loving care and I really feel I’ve got my dad back rather than this old man I didn’t know. The staff are so kind and patient and they look after the whole family, not just my dad. We had a really rocky start with Dad not wanting to be in a care home but management and staff were so supportive he came through it and is now very happy. The facilities are excellent, the whole family can visit at the same time and it is just as if we are at home. The entertainment laid on is fabulous and really enjoyable. Thank you all so much I really appreciate all you do to keep Dad happy and well looked after. It takes away all the worry.
My friend lives in Crawley Grove Care Home and loves it. The care that she receives is excellent with nothing being too much trouble for the staff. The activities they put on are amazing from the monkey's visit to the coronation chicks. The hairdresser visits every week and there’s always plenty going on and we can join in too when we’re visiting. The food is lovely which we can have for a fraction of the price of a restaurant and the coffee bar in the atrium is always welcoming. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking to find a place for their loved ones.
My mother has been at Chawley Grove Care Home since March 2023. She is very happy there and considers it her "home". She takes part in activities almost every day and, by her own admission, socialises far more than when she was living in her own house. Why did we choose Chawley? Having visited four other care homes - what placed Chawley in a league of its own was 1 - it is purpose-built, 2 - it is clean, light and not at all like the archetypal care home and 3 - most importantly, the staff are kind, caring, encouraging and respectful. Thanks for making my mother so welcome.
After an appalling few days at another care home who had wrongly assessed my father’s needs, he went to Chawley Grove Care Home in August 2022. From day one he has been happy there and the staff are very caring. Their knowledge of and respect for residents living with dementia is brilliant. It is a lovely care home, very bright and no mean feat to keep it looking so good. Very kind atmosphere. I’m very grateful to the manager and her team for looking after dad.
The care team at Chawley Grove Care Home responded immediately to our urgent need for respite care for our elderly relative who was quite unwell. She moved into a spacious, comfortable room and was looked after with kindness, understanding and sensitivity by all the team. The building and facilities are more five-star hotel than care home. Thank you sincerely for all your assistance and care.
Excellent facility. Kind, helpful and professional staff. Thank you.
Chawley Grove Care Home exceeded all our expectations. My uncle, a spritely 85-year-old, required short-stay convalescence post-cancer surgery. All staff, without exception, provided exceptional care with genuine affection. They were able to meet his care needs and support him to maintain his independence, always with a smile. The food was excellent. Three cooked meals a day - just what he needed. His stay definitely improved his expectation of residential care and he was delighted to receive and invite to pop in and join them for lunch.
