View Full Details of Chetwynd HouseMy Dad-in-law only spent a few weeks in here and honestly he could not have been in a better place. Its a lovely welcoming home with the best staff who always gave the best care, always super clean great food and full of smiling faces. I can not praise Chetwynd house and all of the staff enough.
We have been so impressed by the facilities and quality of care on all of our visits. It is so reassuring to see our grandma has so many fellow residents they can chat to. The kindness and genuine care of the staff is evident. We arrived this morning and were included in the resident's New Years brunch which made our visit feel more comfortable and relaxed. Thank you for everything you do.
Dad spent the 6 months of his life at Chetwynd House. Throughout his stay he was well treated by all the staff who looked after him. I was particularly impressed with how Dad's end of life was managed. This was handled with a great deal of dignity and understanding for him and the family. Thank you for all you did for my dad. It is greatly appreciated.
My mother moved to Chetwynd in March 2024 initially for respite care. She was made to feel welcome from the moment she arrived from both residents and staff. She is now a permanent resident and very happy. The rooms are a good size and nicely decorated. My mum really enjoys her little patio area and looking after her pot plants. She enjoys the activities provided and is happy to join in with fellow residents. The care and friendliness from all the staff is much appreciated by both my mother and all the family. Thank you.
Our mother went into Chetwynd House care home initially for a trial period of six weeks, as she was due to have hip replacement surgery and was struggling to cope at home, physically and psychologically as she also has cognitive decline. The friendliness of the staff and beautiful facilities were the initial attraction, and we soon discovered that the care offered is of the same high standard. The care team are dedicated and work very well, alongside all professional colleagues, to ensure continuity of care. Mum will remain at Chetwynd House as she is very happy there. Her visitors think the home is wonderful and, we as a family, are very impressed with how the care team have supported the whole family in providing excellent care.
From the moment I walked into the reception I felt welcomed, the staff couldn't do enough to make me feel alright. My room was outstanding and the carers were at my beck and call. All the facilities were outstanding. I have never been so impressed.
Mum moved here in mid-May and has settled in quickly. The staff are wonderful and make such a fuss of her, always cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. I'm so pleased we made the move to Chetwynd, I've not seen Mum so happy in years! There is always something happening here, she plays bingo joins in a singalong, and loves watching the birds in the aviary. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the decor is fresh and clean, it's a great relief to know she is so well looked after.
My Father has stayed at Chetwynd House for eight weeks and the care provided has been exceptional. The staff's dedication and compassion are evident in all interactions and it is obvious that the residents feel valued and comfortable. The facilities are modern and impeccably maintained - creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. My 96-year-old Father has particularly enjoyed engaging in the social activities programme that has kept him stimulated and connected. The meals have been plentiful and we have been kept up-to-date and informed about Pop's health and well-being. I need to particularly mention one member of staff who has gone above and beyond for Pop and us. We are truly grateful. Thank you.
Our dad has been a resident here for over 18 months. We have witnessed the very best in care possible for him, from every single member of the team. I include all the management, carers, reception, facilities, activities, and catering team, and anyone I have missed, there are too many involved in Dad's care to mention any particular individuals. You care for Dad as if he is a member of your own family. We are so grateful to you and all the people who work here for your dedication, care, and the affection you give so freely and willingly. Thanks for your outstanding, professional dedication and commitment. It is greatly valued by our whole family, we know dad is safe, warm, cared for and content.
First time visiting my friend. Immediately felt welcome and relieved that my friend is staying in a lovely care home. Lovely and clean. Lovely and organised with small numbers at mealtimes and lounge areas. Staff are attentive and very helpful. I stayed for lunch and it was delicious. A good impression on my first visit.
Chetwynd House's facilities are spacious and well-appointed giving Mum choice about dining rooms and lounges, and even a garden and balcony with lovely views on each floor. Chetwynd has a homely feel and is a happy community. The manager and staff are very kind and caring, and treat residents with respect and a sense of humour whilst maintaining their dignity and honouring their choices. There are activities each morning and afternoon, which are inclusive and include trips out in the minibus even for those with limited mobility. We love Chetwynd House and are very pleased we chose for Mum to live there.
Since my sister has been here she has been treated like a member of a large family. She is so happy and enjoys a lot of the activities that they do. Any visitors are made welcome and invited to any activity if they would like to be involved along with their family member. The room is lovely and very comfortable. My sister has a key to her own door that gives her some independence. I cannot praise Chetwynd House highly enough. The place and the staff are absolutely brilliant.
New manager has resulted in a great improvement. Mother is happier, as the manager is attentive and friendly like the rest of the staff. In the past, support was slow coming at busy times, e.g. breakfast and bedtimes, this has improved recently. Group physical activities are popular, but not done every day, although activities are done with individuals as well.
We moved our mum into Chetwynd House on the 6th of September. We are so impressed with all the staff and how they are with all the residents. The activity staff keep the residents occupied with a full month's programme. They take residents out and about shopping, circuses, and ice skating. Our mum is so happy here, and we would recommend Chetwynd House.
Caring staff. Excellent facilities.
My sister has been here since May 2023. Her care has been excellent. I cannot praise the home enough. They are all lovely, polite and caring to both my sister and us (her sisters). The entertainment that is provided is fabulous.
Staff helped me during the flooding. The home is like a hotel and everyone was quick to help.
This is the best care home I have ever had the privilege of being in. From the initial welcome it is clear residents enjoy being here and the staff like working here. The manager and all the carers exude caring and professionalism in spades and all with a smile, nothing is too much trouble. A quality service with genuine carers, keep up the excellent work.
I can't recommend Chetwynd House enough. The staff, from the front desk to the care assistants to the manager, are friendly, helpful and kind. My sister is making amazing progress. She is very happy and absolutely loves it - from the food to the activities. She has been to the seaside, swimming and walks within the local area. The whole ethos is based on the individual, and this shows in both staff and residents. I have even arranged daycare for my dad!
I've just spent sixteen nights in the Chetwynd House and I found it to be very welcoming, safe and very caring with staff and residents. If there is a time when I would be able to come back as a respite, I know I would be welcomed.
