View Full Details of Dickley CourtMy son has used Short Breaks respite service for nearly seven years and I am very happy with their service, professionalism and dedication to families like ours. My son is happy there and it feels like a second home to him. Staff are nice, positive and committed and support my son with his daily living and independence skills. They provide regular updates when my son stays there and provide him with opportunities to try different activities. I am thankful that my son gets the same room every time he stays there which is important for his stability. Same can be said of staff who are known to my son and with whom my son has an excellent rapport. My family and I are really grateful for the lovely service Short Breaks provide, to allow us a break and spend quality time with my son's siblings without having to worry about my son. Keep up the good work! God bless you.
Our daughter has attended Dickley Court for many years and absolutely adores it there. When we collect her she asks when she will be going back. The staff are all very kind, helpful and clearly go the extra mile to build a bond with the clients. They know our daughter very well, her routines, likes/dislikes, capabilities and care needs etc. Attending has really helped her independence skills. She's built up a set of friends and keeps in contact with them whilst not staying. There are male/female carers and she has a good rapport with all. The Manager has been our first point of contact over the years as the Manager and is an absolute star! Our daughter has complex needs and it's a huge relief to be able to leave her. It allows us time with our other daughter who likes an array of physical activities that we just couldn't do if we had our disabled daughter with us. Last time, they went Leeds Castle Xmas lights - our disabled daughter always feels sorry for us missing out and being at home!
My son has used this service for around 4 years now and at all times we have been delighted by the opportunities he has been given to develop relationships, try new activities, form friendships and develop his communication skills more. He has also worked on his independence skills. This has all been down to the encouragement and kindness of the staff. They are so positive and helpful and he feels very comfortable and happy to stay for two nights every few weeks which is good for us parents to have a break but also so enjoyable for him. The staff are always so helpful and try to solve any issues for him and help him to remain calm and able to access activities. I could not be happier with the service and the staff always make sure that he is happy and comfortable and really put themselves out to offer a balance of routine. predictability - which he needs - and chances to try some fun new things. A really wonderful service which we are so lucky to have.
We have been taking our daughter to Dickley Court for some months now and we are delighted with the service they provide. On the first day we were met by a member of staff, "come in come in," she said. We were given a mini tour of the building and its rooms. There we could see just how joyful the place appeared. Our daughter plonked herself on a sofa. At home, we thought. The place oozed happiness and we both said, "Yes, this is a lovely." I noticed the subtle security Dickley Court has, double closed doors and discreetly hidden cameras. So that important point was not overlooked. Day-out trips are organised for our daughter amongst various other stimulating activities. Booking respite sessions is extremely flexible and met with, "what is best for you." The staff could not be any more accommodating, literally and figuratively. Now, each me we visit, our daughter pulls away from us and never looks back, she is at home there and so are we. We cannot recommend it any more.
