View Full Details of Edendale Lodge Care HomeMum came here in 2023. She has been very settled; she has her favourites when it comes to staff. Mum is very well cared for, and I am kept informed of any changes to mums health. I am kept up to date on activities going on. Very happy family.
My father has been to Edendale Lodge for 2 separate weeks of respite. The staff have always been welcoming and are great with my father's needs. He has come home on both occasions after making friends and telling us nice stuff about the staff. It's nice to be able to have a break knowing that my father is in a safe place, that he enjoys and feels comfortable in.
Whenever I talk via the phone, email or visit, the service is always the same. Excellent! They're all very caring, respectful and friendly, and sometimes under some difficult circumstances. They are always accommodating, and helpful, especially as I don't live close.
My father has just spent two weeks in respite at Edendale Lodge after a friend highly recommended the home having both her parents as residents. It was his first time in respite and I was feeling very worried about how it would affect his dementia but we were welcomed by very friendly and efficient staff and his stay couldn't have gone better. His room was lovely with a view over the garden and he had a choice of rooms to sit in during the day. He was even included in their day trip out to a garden centre. It has helped me to decide when the time comes for a permanent stay Edendale will be my choice.
My mother who is a resident at Edendale is looked after very very well by all the staff. All the staff know my mother's requirements and understand her needs. They are also very good at spending one-on-one time with her, for example, painting her fingernails. Also, which is equally as important, is that they make my father and myself feel very welcome when we visit her. There is always a cup of tea and a biscuit on hand. Cannot thank all of the staff enough for the care they give. My father and I will always be grateful for what they do.
My mother-in-law's 100th birthday, the staff as always could not have been any kinder. They did an amazing party and birthday cake for her and a lovely 100 blanket. Nothing was too much, it is so comforting knowing she is safe and well-loved and cared for. I would highly recommend them.
My mother-in-law is very happy there. She is so well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Everyone is so friendly and happy. Everywhere is so clean. Definitely home from home for everyone.
My mum had a week of respite at Edenvale Lodge Care Home in early September 2023. Staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived at 3 p.m. Mum was shown into the lounge area by the manager to meet the other residents, I saw this as a sensible and thoughtful move. I stayed until 7 pm. Tea was served at 4:45 pm (sandwiches, cake, tea and fruit juice). I went with Mum into her bedroom at 6 p.m. and assisted with personal care. Mum changed into pyjamas/dressing gown and went into the TV area of the lounge at 6.45 pm. All staff were helpful, kind and chatty. Mum has dementia and can be difficult. A photo was sent to me when Mum had a hair-do. Mum had a nice holiday and I would be happy for her to go again in the near future.
I arrived at Edendale Lodge following a small stroke and no longer wanting to live alone. I have found kindness, helpfulness and total acceptance. I am encouraged to be independent and yet to know there is always someone there to help in a kind, cheerful and encouraging manner. I can honestly say I am happy and relaxed and loving life here and bless the day I telephoned to come and see this beautiful place. It has, indeed, become my home.
My mother has been a resident at Edendale Lodge for over six years now and has been cared for fabulously for all that time. All the staff are excellent and I feel very certain that my mother is safe and well in their hands.
Very well look after with great understanding of their need . I have always been welcome. I feel one is looker after better then one could at home. all are kept clean and tidy and the place is kept clean.
My father went to Edendale on very short notice. The manager took the time to talk to me about his care, likes and dislikes and preferences such as meals, bedtimes etc. She also took the time to reassure me and answer all the many questions I had. It was an anxious time for me, but Dad settled in straight away, and the staff quickly got used to his sense of humour and his little quirks. As his health has gradually needed more care, they have adapted his care plan and kept me fully up to date. One member of staff supported my dad and I with a hospital appointment. I couldn't have managed without him. I'm so grateful to the whole team.
Staff very courteous and happy. Clean place.
Whenever I visit my brother, I am so relieved that he is in a caring, supportive environment, and basically, secure from his former environment where he was in contact with people in his locality who preyed upon him for his pocket money, etc. I find the staff so friendly, they chat and love to have him in their care. The staff know and understand his problems, and support him. A lot of the Covid pandemic precautions are loosened now but on visiting, the utmost care is taken with the precautions at Edendale, we show our tests taken on arrival and wear a mask. The residents have all had their jabs, and I was asked if I would permit his jabs, of course, I said yes! My brother is in a beautiful spacious en-suite room, and it's kept clean and tidy. I thought there couldn't be a better place for him. Above all, he is happy there and doesn't want to be anywhere else.
My mother had been discharged from the hospital after a fall in the home she used to live in. She arrived at Edendale confused and very frail. The transformation is nothing short of miraculous. All the staff have been exceptional in their welcome and care of my mother. She is bright and has her twinkle back in her eyes. We are so lucky to be able to relax in the knowledge that my mother is receiving the correct level of care and is comfortable and happy. Edendale is situated in a quiet oasis of the beautiful English countryside, and the sound of the birds singing brings a smile to all of our faces whenever we are there. The food looks and smells delicious. My mother is now eating again and looks forward to each mouth-watering meal. Communication from all staff is friendly, clear and professional. We would have no hesitation in recommending Edendale to others. Thank you to the manager and all of your staff for welcoming my mother into your beautiful home.
Friendly staff, always there to help and assist when visiting grandad.
All staff are very friendly and helpful when visiting my grandad.
My mum has lived at Edendale for over four years now, and the care she receives is exemplary. The staff are all wonderful, lead by a fabulous management team. I was terrified that Mum would hate it, but from day one, she felt at home, and I haven't had a moments worry about her since. I would, and frequently do, recommend Edendale Lodge to anyone who needs a safe and loving home for an elderly relative.
What an incredible place this is. My dad has dementia and has never been happy in a home. He also was stuck in hospital for 2 months during lockdown. He has been there 4 months and he has completely changed. They have been patient and treated him like a human being. He is now happier than he has ever been and I get regular messages from the manager keeping me up to date with his progress. I would recommend this place to anyone.
My elderly dad lived at Edendale for nearly 2 years, when circumstances changed and I could no longer look after him at home. During all that time, I was always 100% confident that he was receiving the best possible care to meet his needs, both physically and emotionally. All the staff were friendly to him and to me and my family when we visited, and were always greeted with "tea or coffee"! Dad wasn't a great mixer and didn't want to sit in the lounge with the other residents and staff respected this and willingly served his meals in his room and popped in, more than necessary, for a chat. During Covid restrictions, Whatsapp chats were arranged and messages always passed on to him when I rang to let him know, although I couldn't visit him, I hadn't forgotten him. Sadly, my dad passed away last month, completely unrelated to the coronavirus, and I say a big thank you to all the staff who looked after him so well during his time with them. I miss my dad but the lovely staff too.
