View Full Details of Elm ParkI just wanted to share how fabulous Elm Park Care Home is. The staff at Elm Park cared for my grandmother for around 7 months before she passed away. During this time they looked after her like she was their own relative, nothing was too much trouble, they treated her with dignity and respect. Nurses here knew more than the doctors did with relation to medication that was safe for her to have administered, with her previous medical history. During her final days, the nurse contacted my mum and advised that we need to spend as much time with my grandmother, as she was deteriorating. For 3 full days and nights, 4 of us stayed with my grandmother, no restrictions were placed on our visitation. Nothing was too much for staff, they were kind, considerate and compassionate. The home itself has many amenities, the food is great, the place is clean and it is very secure. I cannot give the care home and the staff enough praise, they deserve the premier league football player wage.
I am generally quite happy with the care my mum receives. She has settled in well into the home and has grown fond of the carers. My biggest concern is that the home was recently visited by CQC and they doubled the amount of staff that were working for their visit. Why? If the home thinks that that this is what the staffing level should be to pass a CQC visit then why isn't it like that all the time?
My mum came into Elm Park on the back of a really long hospital stay. When mum arrived she was so very poorly, really frail and struggled with basic tasks - that was 10 weeks ago. The change in her due to the care, support and time given by the Elm Park team is nothing short of miraculous. She went out today to the theatre to watch a play. I am still in shock because mum has improved so much both physically and mentally and that is down to the care and support she receives from this wonderful care home. Thank you! Mum is the love of my life and all the time with her is precious you have given us.
My mother went into Elm Park Care Home for a weeks respite care. All the staff showed great compassion and care from the minute she entered the building. They assessed her needs and catered for everything to help make her stay very comfortable and memorable. The room was really well equipped and very clean. The choice of food was really beyond what I expected. The activities gave a very wide selection and everybody seemed to enjoy taking part.
This was my husband's first respite it took him two days to settle in and really enjoyed the rest of the week. The only criticism is TV was broken in the room only allowing Channell 4. Found all the staff excellent. The food is very good.
The staff do not talk to residents. Caring for residents very poor. Seating is not correct, hoists most of the time not working. Personal care is not good and meal times are manic. The staff do not read the residents' needs hence residents are given food and drinks they do not like. I have photos of my friend they make me sad.
My mum was in Elm Park from Feb 2023 until she passed away recently. I visited nearly every day and was struck by the care, kindness and love she was shown by everyone, regardless of their role. Everyone had time to talk to her and make her feel special. In her final days the compassion shown by staff was reassuring to me and my family and for that we will be forever grateful
My wife has received excellent care and nursing during the last 56 months.
Our mother was a resident for almost 4 years and the quality of care and attention was always 100% from all departments and staff. The end-of-life care she received was amazing and appreciated by all family members. We were made so comfortable by all staff which made a difficult time easier to go through. Our thanks go to all at Elm Park and words cannot express our family's gratitude.
This care home is the best I've ever been in. It is clean, all staff are polite, clean, courteous and respectful to both residents and their families. As someone who has worked in the ambulance service for over thirty-eight years, I have been in most care homes in the area, Elm Park is the best bar none. We were so lucky to have my mum put here. She certainly has improved in herself with all the attention she receives daily and all the activities. We have nothing but praise for each and every member of staff who looks after my mum, thank you.
Elm Park is an excellent nursing home. My mum-in-law is happy, clean and content. The food is excellent and the staff treat her like family. The staff are happy all the time and nothing is too much trouble for anyone of them.
Staff on duty are friendly and treat our mum like their own family. Mum has 24-hour care, a nice room, good communal facilities and activities are provided. Mum is cared for with dignity, respect, compassion and support. We feel confident that if we are unable to visit daily she is well looked after and her needs are met.
My mum has been a resident at Elm Park for over two years now, nursing care is 100%. The carers are on top form, so loving and caring and very attentive. The entertainment team have a large variety of stimulating activities to suit all the residents. The place is spotless and the food is to hotel standard. Definitely deserves a five-star rating.
Mum has been at Elm Park for over two years. It's been the best decision we made. The staff are absolutely lovely, polite and hard working. Nothing is too much trouble for the team who look after mum, they have been excellent. Nursing care is 100%, every need has been catered for. From staff, caterers, management, hairdressers and cleaners, all are faultless. They all know and acknowledge mum.
What can I say, excellent care, the staff are fantastic with my dad, and nothing is too much trouble. The food is brilliant, lots of choice and nutrition, and personal cares are great I know my dad is safe when I come away after seeing him. Could not ask for a better environment for him.
I would definitely recommend Elm Park Care Home, it is of a very high standard and more like a 5 star hotel than a nursing home. There is always a pleasant atmosphere and all the staff are professional, kind and caring. I am very glad that my Dad is at Elm Park. He is very well cared for.
As a family, we had to take our Dad out of another care home in the area and had Elm Park recommended to us by two different independent people who weren't connected. These guys know what they are doing. The manager is genuinely interested in you as a family. Every member of her team that we came into contact with was excellent. The housekeeper deserves a special mention as does one of the nurses. The facilities, look and feel of a place suggests a hotel rather than a care home. The grounds are also always well maintained, which shows from the outside in their care. Number one on our list of priorities as a family is communication - especially given what have been tough times for everyone recently. Elm Park also excels in that department, which is vital in our eyes. Overall, if you're reading this review because you're considering where the best place is for your loved one, then look no further. It's a huge decision and not something to be taken lightly!
My mum has been at Elm Park since June 2019. The care she receives there is exceptional, staff are really caring and go above and beyond on a daily basis. Prior to covid either me or mums husband visited every day and have always witnessed residents being treated with upmost care and dignity. We haven’t been able to visit due to covid but staff are always willing to chat and update on the phone how mum is doing. One member of staff passed a comment to me last week that she loved all the residents like family and I truly believe that they all do. Staff turnover seems really low we haven’t noticed anyone leaving in the last 18 months. The cleaning team also do an amazing job the place is spotless and smells lovely.
My father was nursed on Nightingale ward for the last two weeks of his life, having previously been on Darrington residential unit for some 18 months. He received outstanding care, from kind and compassionate staff, who were always attentive to him - even when his Vascular Dementia made him moody. The care in the last two weeks to us, his family, was exceptional - the nurses were always informative about his condition and welcoming to his visitors. After a long journey to get to him, the drinks were much appreciated. Even when he lapsed into semi-consciousness, the care continued to be exceptional, treating him as an individual and encouraging him to eat and drink, as well as looking after his normal care. The staff nurses were very good at explaining his care plan and the need to change his medications at the end, which were always given in the right dose to achieve comfort. As a retired surgeon with over thirty years of the NHS, I was hugely impressed. Well done!
Elm Park Nursing Home has been outstanding in their care of our dad. Before he arrived they supported and assisted us above and beyond the call of duty and whilst he was with them, all staff were caring, professional and respectful. In his passing, they again dealt with this respectfully offering our family a truly unique standard of care. So a huge thank you to them. Sadly our dad's time with this care home was limited but within that time they have made a huge impact on our opinion of nursing homes.
