My grandad has been here many years and receives the best of care. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and always well-kept. Staff are always friendly and attentive. There are lots of activities and outings to keep residents busy if they wish to participate.
Mum has received good care from the staff at Fairlight. We have been kept up to date at all times by friendly staff. When there have been issues, they have been addressed and dealt with quickly. In general, we have been pleased with the care Mum has received at Fairlight. Our only real concern was the poor standard of food.
My mother spent five very happy years in the home of Fairlight. All the staff were always happy to help and assist, even through the difficult times whit Covid. Mother loved Victorian buildings and believed she was at home with her dementia. Many thanks to all.
The month-long stay in Fairlight was the best experience over many years of disability. I enjoyed the garden too it was really beautiful. On my last day there I was fortunate enough to visit the garden and enjoy its unique design and plants. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thank you to them all.
I have recently been visiting my friend who is receiving respite care at Fairlight. She appears to have settled in well and has remarked on several occasions how kind and caring the staff are. The setting is beautiful and I have found the atmosphere calm and very welcoming and the staff very friendly and helpful.
This care home is in a beautiful setting with a lot of space for residents to do activities or spend time with visiting relatives and friends. My father moved into Fairlight following a serious illness which left him very frail and thin. He benefited from the great care and support provided by the Manager and her team of care and support staff. Over the years he has lived in Fairlight he has enjoyed many of the activities, outings (numerous) and walks in the extensive grounds. Now age 92, he has frail moments and I appreciate the good care he is provided. The staff are trained well and keep me up to date with any changes or concerns regarding his care. He is very happy, has always been able to make his own choices, and is comfortable and well supported.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Fairlight for providing such a warm and caring environment for my father-in-law. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well he has settled in and this, I feel, has a great deal to do with the quality of the care and the thoughtful attention he receives. Thank you all for helping him make such a smooth transition.
I will start by saying don't do it. This place is awful, the 'cant do' attitude appears to stem from higher up and it's toxic. Within a week my relative said he wanted to go back to the hospital. I can't speak for all the staff as I only met a few and they seemed to be managers of some sort, there was a guy who pushed my uncle's wheelchair who was really nice but seemed like a temp. The routine of this place is you sit down there and be quiet, they are always too busy and have endless excuses why they cannot do things, simple things like wanting to go to the toilet and "you'll have to wait we are busy". I began calling at 9:30 on my Uncle's 92nd birthday to wish him the best and by 1 o'clock I was still getting excuses why I couldn't speak to him. The admin woman had a massive chip on her shoulder and tells me I'm being aggressive rather than dealing with the problem, creating a whole new one totally unrelated. I was annoyed not aggressive. Not enough words allowed to type more or I would.
Thank you so much for looking after my father so well. You made him feel comfortable and cared for. He enjoyed the food and the company, and your staff were so helpful and friendly whenever I came to visit. We are very grateful for all your help.
as my sister and I drove up the drive, past the beautiful garden to be greeted by two smiling and welcoming staff. We knew this was the right place to care for our dad. The staff are wonderful - if we have any queries or worries they are dealt with straight away. The decor and surroundings are more like a hotel and to quote dad "this is a first class place - I really can't fault it, and the food is good too.
My uncle is very, very happy in Fairlight. I think everyone makes over 100% to help and care for the people in there. I couldn't have picked a better place for him. I am extremely happy with the staff and they keep me informed of everything.
During this difficult time, Fairlight has kept us informed of visiting process, ensuring safety for both mother and visitors. Communicates with relatives regarding care and ongoing care needs.
The standard of care by the staff is very good. However, other aspects are not. On the 1st July 2021 new caterers took over the cooking. Since then, the quality of the meals has deteriorated considerably. There is very little choice, the quality of the food is poor, little variety and they often run out of things, eg yoghurts, the standard is very inconsistent, sometimes acceptable, but often not. At the fees the residents pay, they should be provided with good, healthy, hot meals of good quality - this is often not the case. The state of the carpets in my mother's room is not acceptable. She moved into the room during the lockdown, so I was unable to view it in advance. It was badly stained before my mother took on the room and needs a good clean. She is paying over the odds for a very small room, so we would expect the carpet to be cleaned or replace. The cleaning staff work hard to keep the rest of the room clean. Please note, I have delayed returning this form in case the catering improved. Sadly it hasn't despite my mother and other residents complaining.
Fairlight was highly recommended to us, so we viewed the home when the time came for mum to move into one. The home is just beautiful, well furnished and clean. Any staff I have met are extremely pleasant and helpful. Often when I call, Mum is busy with an activity. Mum is looking the best she has for a long time. Currently mum is settling well with the help of the excellent carers. She likes everyone there. I feel extremely grateful for the care she is receiving.
The staff at this care home have been excellent with my mum. They are professional and caring and always friendly and welcoming. Mum enjoys all the daily activities and the food which she tells me is delicious. The home is set in beautiful gardens that are well kept. Mum's room is clean and bright. Mum is very well looked after so thank you all.
Fairlight is full now and changed and without the extra help, the pressure has spread to all areas. The staff, day and night, are willing but there is a limit when it comes to consideration of their own health. The management and staff throughout do their best to keep things under control and as usual, have our grateful thanks and the activities help to keep us busy. So hopefully there will be a complete turnaround and welcoming and happy new 'review' very soon.
Due to the last difficult 18 months and not being able to enter the home we cannot comment on the conditions, but conversations with our friend and staff things seem to be well organised. The change of catering has caused some concern
Very good home. Very welcoming. Food is good and staff, very pleasant.
Mother has been at Fairlight for 18 months, the previous home was shocking. Thankfully it closed. Fairlight was a jewel in the crown. Perfect, and we couldn't be happier, Mother is well fed, clean and most importantly cared for and respected. The team are all first class.
As I have not seen the meals provided for some time I feel I cannot give my personal opinion. My mother has been very well looked after and the staff are excellent. The home itself is in a lovely setting.
