View Full Details of Farnham Mill Nursing HomeWe had the day room to celebrate Dads birthday on Saturday, 29 March. One member of staff set up tea and coffee and decorated it beautifully. We had a lovely time and played with the balloon and batons (Dad really gets involved in this game). His grandchildren enjoyed spending time with their Granddad in this private space and had a special treat of choosing a can of fizzy drink from the fridge! We also celebrated with a cake on his actual birthday on Monday, 31 March. We all sang Happy Birthday and shared the cake amongst staff and residents. My Dad was smiling away the team all helped with the candle and birthday banner. Thanks also to another member of staff for taking all the bookings and kitchen for making the cake. It made my Dad feel special. Thank you
Farnham Mill is an exceptional nursing home, my mum is so happy. The facilities are excellent, every member or staff always has time to talk and you can see that they all care so deeply for every resident. We are a large family and when we visit all together everyone is so accommodating to us. I have absolute peace of mind that mum is cared for in every aspect of life.
The care that my granny receives at Farnham Mill is exceptional. The whole team really are her extended family. On every visit we are greeted with the warmest welcome from reception, who are always so kind and genuinely interested in how we are and what we have been up too. The staff caring for and entertaining granny are dedicated, professional and so respectful. They are always on hand to help. The home is always so clean, and beautifully decorated for each occasion. The events we attend are so special, the catering and entertainment is always fabulous and allows us to make more precious memories with gran. All granny's great grandchildren love coming to see her. The private rooms and outside areas are great for them to run around in. They say they feel very happy when they visit and they love the fuss and treats they are given. As a family we feel so lucky that granny lives in such a safe, happy and fulfilling environment. She deserves nothing less. Thank you
It has been very reassuring that the team at Farnham Mill has kept us fully informed about recent health issues mum has experienced. I am not easily able to visit her so I have the peace of mind, as I have always had, that mum is being well looked after and all necessary measures put in place for her to be comfortable and recover. She is in very safe hands.
The level of care that my wife received over more than 3 years residency was consistently outstanding, being unfailingly loving and attentive even when, as her dementia increased towards the end of her life, she became rude and difficult to deal with. I cannot praise too highly the way in which all involved contributed to her care. I am also deeply grateful for the invariable kindness and support which was extended to me over the years, especially when my wife was approaching the end of her life, and subsequently after her death. The atmosphere in the nursing home is always very friendly and welcoming. Management and all members of staff know each resident by name, and go out of their way to talk to them while going about their daily tasks. Visitors are always made to feel welcome. The light and airy design of the building, the artworks in the communal areas and residents' rooms and the furnishings, contribute significantly to the overall welcoming and very pleasant ambience.
Mum had Alzheimer's disease and spent her last two years at Farnham Mill. From reception to nursing staff and management it was very professionally run and mum was cared for as we would have wished, to help her live her best possible life through each stage. There are no temporary staff which means you build up relationships and trust with those looking after her. I have no hesitation in recommending Farnham Mill
Both my parents have lived at Farnham Mill for 4 years. My mother has Alzheimer's and my father had been her carer for many years until he became too elderly to manage. The staff have always been very kind and considerate to both my parents. They have received regular health checks, and they are wonderful when my mother becomes difficult. When my father was in his final days we were kept informed regularly, a local vicar was brought in to pray with him, which he would very much have wanted. He also enjoyed the regular communion services by a visiting vicar. Farnham Mill have really helped in making all the arrangements for his funeral, including bringing my mother along to the service and 3 members of staff attending. They have provided many special extra touches over the years, such as a celebratory tea for their 70th wedding anniversary and some recent pictures of him as a tribute to him. I am very pleased he spent his final years so well looked after.
Big thank you to all staff at Farnham Mill who's professional expertise, dedication, determination and kindness helped my mother through a very difficult time. The care she received is second to none and am pleased to say that mum is doing well and seems very happy and well once again. The family are very grateful to the entire team.
My father passed away last year, the staff are very caring and helped mum to settle in the home without him. Nothing is too much trouble and if I have any concerns about her they deal with it straight away. I am very pleased with her care and have no hesitation to recommend the home to anyone. There are loads of activities on offer and make visitors very welcomed.
Overall Farnham Mill cared for my terminally ill husband very well. It was good that the nurses liaised willingly with staff from the local hospice and the tissue viability nurse - without these people I think his care would not have been nearly as good. However, sometimes the staff seemed slow to respond to changes in his condition and were slow to give him pain relief. I felt that they waited for him to ask for help even after this became difficult for him as he became weaker and sometimes dosey or confused. It helps when a visitor discusses concerns with senior staff. He disliked the nights and felt that the night staff were often too busy to respond quickly to calls for assistance. He felt that they were "unapproachable" . My main concern about his being in a nursing home was how much of the time he spent alone, but some of this was his choice when he was still mobile and could have joined in more activities.
My mother has been at Farnham Mill for several years now. I can't fault the care she receives in any way. Additionally the staff are always extremely welcoming to visitors. This year we have had the new challenge of getting my mother to and from hospital appointments and procedures, and the home has provided perfect guidance and practical support for this process.
My wife was in Farnham Mill Nursing Home for about 15 and a half months. The care was excellent, staff ensured she was as safe as possible. They liaised with medical and dietary professionals and ensured my wife had the treatment and diet required. They were very patient and did their best to ensure my wife had sufficient nutrition. Some staff were able to speak Cantonese (my wife's first language) to her. They also encouraged my wife to be involved in activities that she would enjoy and benefit from.
The staff are lovely and it's nice that they are permanent so residents and family get to know them. Everybody is friendly. Seem to have lots of activities but unfortunately, my father does not want to take part. It would be good for him to get out more. Always clean and family can visit whenever we want.
I can not ask for a better caring home for my brother, the staff are always welcoming and nothing is too much trouble from the moment I step into the building, I am greeted with a smile and welcome using my name. The Receptionist I see on my visits treats everyone with the same care and the staff you can tell are dedicated to their work. I know my brother is in safe hands.
My dad was a resident of Farnham Mill for just over a year and the care he received there was outstanding. Farnham Mill is a lovely environment with excellent facilities, the highest standards of cleanliness and great food but it is the staff who make it so special. All of the staff are wonderful - friendly, professional, compassionate and caring. My dad was always treated with kindness and respect and it is clear that the staff constantly strive to provide the best care possible. Family and other visitors were welcomed at any time and the communications and updates from nursing staff were very helpful. In the last days of his life my dad received exceptional nursing care and such kindness from everyone at the home who were also so supportive towards myself and my mum. It is a very difficult decision to have to choose a nursing home for a parent but I could not recommend Farnham Mill more highly.
From reception to all staff in the home you are always made feel very welcome. There is always some activity going on and everyone is welcome to join in. As a big family for my fathers birthday they have a wonderful room to use which enables us to celebrate all together. Summer BBQ also a favourite with the kids in a beautiful garden overlooking a duck filled pond. All staff meet all dads needs with care and always a smile.
Mum was a resident of Farnham Mill for 2 years she sadly passed away at Christmas. We were so pleased that we found Farnham Mill Nursing Home and it gave the family comfort that she was being looked after so well. The friendly and professional staff from the lovely receptionist to the professional carers and nurses helped mum to live the best life she could with Alzheimer's. There was always a lot of activities for mum. Mum was always an elegant lady who loved her clothes and jewellery she was always well dressed. More importantly for us she was happy at FM. When the time came to say goodbye to mum the staff looked after us as well, realising what a sensitive time it was for the family and giving us a lot of support and kindness. For anyone in this situation I cannot recommend FM highly enough, if you are in the heart-breaking situation where a loved one needs 24/7 care, please consider this residential care home, your loved ones will be in a safe pair of hands with the lovely staff and treated with dignity.
I would like to say how happy I am with the love and care mum receives from the lovely staff at Farnham Mill. It is a lovely clean nursing home with friendly dedicated staff. My sisters and I think it's the best. There are so many different activities they do with the residents and some they include the families too. Well done and thank you to the team, a great job you are all doing.
Our beloved mother passed away in December. Every staff member of the Care Home was outstanding in their care, kindness, professionalism and all-round brilliance. Mum had been unwell for about a month, and it felt different this time as if she wasn't going to bounce back. I had many conversations with the amazing GM and Nurses about the reality of the situation. They were so supportive and assured me that mum would be cared and loved for until the end at Farnham Mill. We did not want her to go to Hospital. The staff were fantastic about keeping the family updated as to her condition enabling my two sons to get down from Manchester in time to see her. I will never forget their kindness and sensitivity to both mum and us as she neared the end. Also, after she passed peacefully away without pain. They cared for all of us as they did our mother and grandmother. Seeing staff at the funeral also showed just how much they really did care. They are quite simply the best without a doubt!
I am always so comforted that my mum is a resident at Farnham Mill. The staff, in entirety, are always so welcoming and always on hand and the management presence is brilliant, with always time for a quick catch up when needed. Mum is clearly cared for so well. She always looks lovely and I have seen an array of my mums challenges, as a result of dementia, handled in a caring, patient way and staff are so proactive in their approach. The meals smell and look amazing. The cleanliness is second to none and the ambience is so calming. Thank you Farnham Mill for your ongoing support to mum and her family. You are all amazing.
