View Full Details of Folkestone Care CentreI will always be extremely grateful for the care my father received at Folkestone Care Home. Throughout his stay his stay he was treated with great kindness and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff at all levels were always courteous, kind and caring. I was always welcomed calmly and kept informed of any issues. His room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. I would have no hesitation in recommend this care centre.
As a family we could not have asked for a better standard of care. My father-in-law was treated with respect, kindness and consideration throughout. Every single person went above and beyond what was expected of them. Thank you.
Folkestone Care Centre is extremely friendly and professional. The staff are both polite and hardworking and make both mum's and my experience at the centre very comfortable. Mum's room is always very clean well maintained and homely. Communicating with staff at all levels is easy and they keep me informed of all situations concerning mum. The food is good and the hospitality towards visitors is exceptional too. Considering the nature of care and numbers involved an excellent family experience is maintained.
My husband has been very happy and settled since he moved in 6 weeks ago. He is extremely well looked after and treated with dignity and respect. All the fantastic staff are caring, patient and kind. He has got a bright sunny room and takes part in all the activities to keep him occupied. The facilities are excellent and so is the food.
All the staff are very friendly and approachable. The residents are all well cared for with kindness and understanding. I was very impressed when I witnessed an emergency drill taking place everyone reacted with speed and efficiency and without panic.
My father is currently residing at Folkestone Care Centre, he has been there since May, I have always found the home to be extremely clean, in every area, and the staff always make me feel welcome when I arrive to visit, nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of activities for the residents and we have been to the family events such as the BBQ. Looking forward to the Christmas Lunch.
The Care Centre is always well run and my mum is very well looked after and my mum is so happy here. There are always activities going on. We went to the Macmillan Coffee Morning and we all had a good time which raised a lot of money. I would like to thank the staff very much.
A fabulous event to raise funds for Macmillan, beautiful cakes and tray bakes, are truly delicious. An inclusive event provided by the well-being team and staff for residents, families, and carers all welcome. Loved the warm and friendly atmosphere on a cold September day. Thank you.
I came to Folkstone Care Centre for respite care after twelve days in hospital following an infection and a fall which resulted in a loss of mobility and balance. Initially, I came for two weeks but quickly extended to four and then later a fifth week. The staff have been supportive encouraging and helpful in every way. The assistance with and attention to personal care morning and evening was very good. The food was enjoyable and nutritious and I met other residents in the dining room The overall atmosphere was that of warmth and friendliness with the informality underpinned with orderliness and organisation.
Once I knew my mum was going into a care home I made sure I visited it first. My first reaction was this is such a lovely place for my mum to stay The management were lovely to speak to before my mum was admitted here. Since being in the care home for almost a year now my mum's care has been second to none from all the staff nurses care assistants to the therapy staff. She is always treated with dignity. The catering has all been wonderful the food is always served hot. The reception staff are always happy to help with any enquiries. She looks forward to the variety of entertainment they have here. I am happy knowing that my mum is in safe hands here and she is well looked after. The care home is always spotlessly clean and smells clean too. I visit my mum regularly and the staff are always smiling and saying "Hello" or "Good morning" no matter how busy they are.
We have been lucky enough to place mum here at Folkestone Care Centre and she has been here since May. I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff here. Every single member of staff is caring, kind, and patient and has treated mum with respect, gentleness and humour. The food belongs in a 5-star hotel and so much effort is made to give her favourite foods to mum. Today was the cherry on top! It was mum's birthday and there was an enormous and special cake made, the music group sang happy birthday, then all the staff visited her room to sing again and wish her well. Thank you all for treating my mum like family.
This is a top-class establishment. I was there in respite care for twenty weeks. An abundance of staff: administrators, nurses, carers, laundresses, cleaners, hairdressers, chefs and restaurant hosts, a well-being team, maintenance crew and receptionists. Doctors are always ready to attend the home and any hospital visits are immediately arranged. Dining areas are excellent and staff always on hand to fulfil a request. Food is good, especially Sunday roast; beef, chicken, turkey, gammon or pork(belly) and vegetables galore. Not to be missed. Spacious rooms, well-lit, heated, hot and cold water, en-suite washroom, exceptional beds and cleaned daily. Vast lounges to relax and entertain. A happy place where those who have lived a full life can receive kind and thoughtful care from staff always attentive to the needs of the residents, most obviously those well-aged and often vulnerable individuals. I felt it was too posh for me, but nevertheless, actually enjoyed my stay there for here is the companionship of other residents and staff forever ready to listen and communicate with one. There is also a small garden which any resident is welcome to benefit from. No one should hesitate in accepting a place in this modern, excellently positioned home, on a broad avenue surrounded by mostly spacious detached homes. There are occasions for entertainment; regular bingo sessions with prizes, musical performances and talks from knowledgeable speakers. Daily exercise classes are given by qualified and enthusiastic trainers, creative activities and times for board games. Church services are communally undertaken. No stone is left unturned in the quest to make residents' lives peaceful and comfortable both day and night. Visitors are encouraged at all times. To recap, no family need look no further than here for constant, unstinting care than at Folkestone Care Centre.
Looking after Mum after Daddy died was difficult and hard work. She broke her leg in February 2023 and was in a respite accommodation and is now at Folkestone Care Centre where she is very happy and has come to terms with the fact she will not return home. She is extremely happy with the friends that she has made and enjoys sitting in the lounge with two particular friends that she has made. Being an active knitter she has restarted this activity with purpose again since living at Folkestone Care Centre. She has many personal items in her room which allows her to feel more comfortable and settled. Find the staff to be friendly to both Mum and the family and always welcome the grandchildren. We bring one particular great-grandchild to visit and a few select friends of Mum's also enjoy seeing her when she visits and look forward to the visits.
Since my mum moved to the care home, she has come out of her shell so much, she has made a lot of new friends. She has restated knitting which she hasn't done in years. We have been able to fill her room with so many of her personal things, it's like her living room. The staff are so sensitive to the resident's needs and make visitors so welcoming. She has her own hairdresser and now makes her appointment the last of the day as she loves to sit and talk to everyone. When we take Mum out there is never a rush or a time limit when she has to be back. The home and staff are a level above anything we looked at and believe other homes should be measured against the standards they have set.
My friend has lived here since September 2022. During this time I have visited frequently and at different times of the day, it is consistently the same at each visit. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. From residents having their pillows plumped, to the chef and kitchen staff preparing a particular food that someone may have enjoyed when living independently. The staff take the time to chat with the residents, listening to their stories and getting to know them, also sharing experiences of their own families which makes this a wonderful way to encourage a relaxed, homely atmosphere for everyone and gives a sense of belonging that is important. I have come to realise that this is the norm here and that all the staff are key to this exceptional service. They treat everyone with respect and dignity ensuring that each person's needs are met but more than this they truly care and are doing their best to make it a home from home for the residents.
Seems a very happy place. Lots of smiling staff and very comfortable.
The number I was quoted for my wife's two week stay at the care home was £1,200 per week, i.e. £2,400. There would be an additional charge for any extras. As far as I am aware, these amounted to the services of a chiropodist, the cost of which would seem unlikely to increase the bill by £500. My wife has mobility problems and spends most of her awake time with her head in a book. The care home was chosen to allow her to meet people, take part in the various activities, particularly the singing. My wife is a trained vocalist and has played all the leading roles in the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. She would have loved the opportunity to sing again. Not once was she invited to join the singing group. She loves films, not once was she shown the dedicated cinema area and apart from two brief spells in the garden, spent most of the time with her head in a book for the entire two weeks. The care home supervision should have been more alert to her situation and got her more involved in the home's activities. In view of these failings, I feel that the care home should make some significant reduction in the overall costs of her stay.
My mother and father were in Folkestone Care Centre for just over a year and for six months respectively. During the time they were there, the care, friendship and compassion shown were very comforting for them and myself. The family were considered in decision-making throughout the stay. All in all, excellent care was given during their stay.
I visit Folkestone Care Centre on a weekly basis with my PAT dog, Rolo. Folkestone Care Centre is an amazing care home, modern, state of the art, clean with lovely staff at all levels. When I first visited, it put me in mind of a five-star hotel, classy, roomy, brilliant facilities and spacious en-suite rooms. It is certainly a place I would love to stay when my time comes. The residents have various activities to do each day and regular visiting singers. A truly excellent experience.
My stay at Folkestone Care Centre made my recovery after my knee replacement a very positive experience. I cannot fault any of the staff who were so kind, friendly and helpful, whether nursing, catering or cleaning team. The two weeks went very quickly, and I hope to return when the second knee is replaced. I tried to stay independent, but it was nice not to worry about cooking or any help needed. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.
