View Full Details of Frances Bolitho Care HomeWe are very pleased with everything in the home. The staff are very lovely and always seem very friendly and caring. The bedrooms are immaculate and plenty sized.
I find the home very welcoming and attentive to my husband's needs. The staff are always polite, kind and willing to help where they can. The staff are helpful to me as well as my husband, which I find excellent as it's difficult to be without him.
After a stay in hospital with a stroke my dad wasn't ready to go home so he went to Frances Bolithos. They were really flexible about when it was the right time in his recovery for him to move on, showing a real focus on what was best for him. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is not five stars as we were told 3 different fees by 4 different people which is a bit frustrating (one was confused and the other three were talking about this years and next years fees). This caused my dad considerable confusion and some distress. Once he was in there were no more issues.
Care workers cater to personal needs and requests especially facilitating walks and fresh air. Visitation is easy and accommodating with friendly and caring staff.
Have telephoned several times asking about my brother and have always received a pleasant and helpful reply. Thanks to the staff involved. On our visits staff have always been helpful and he appears to be settled, bless him. He is being fed and kept clean and tidy which he was not able to do when living on his own, so thank you to all at Bolitho.
This home and staff have upped their game since January this year. The staff re very pleasant and helpful. My only concern is that activities are still poor but have been assured things are about to change.
My mum moved into Frances Bolitho from another home I know she is well looked after and the staff work tirelessly and are often short-staffed but do the best they can. I have had issues in the past but they have dealt with them swiftly and professionally and I'm always pleased with the outcome they do put the resident's needs first. My mum always looks clean her room is spotless she has choices in her food and drinks. I don't live nearby so it's important to me that my mum's needs are met but because I can't be there all the time I manage to have regular social media calls with my mum which is easier than talking to her on a phone I really do appreciate the time they take to do these little things for me and mum always seems happy when she can see me on these calls the staff from the manager to the carers are all very approachable are always at the end of the phone for any concerns you may have I thank you and appreciate you all.
We are really grateful for the care given to Mum. Her room is clean, fresh and we feel thankful that Mum is here, having great care.
Such an improvement in our dear friend's situation when he moved from the hospital to Frances Bolitho. He is treated with respect, compassion, friendliness and the staff are so tolerant in dealing with him. He is clean and tidy and has even put on some weight which is good. The change in four weeks is remarkable - he is happy and content in his 'new world', smiling and even joking with the staff in his own way. Very reassuring to know that he could not be in a better place at this difficult period in his life.
During my visits the staff have always been really helpful, caring and also cheerful and considering the work they do I think they all deserve a medal.
I have been shown marvellous service from start to finish.
My Dad was placed here due to a decline in his dementia. His room was not ready as was being used for storage as they were not aware he was coming and we were just left for around 45 minutes in the lounge. No one spoke to us or welcomed my dad. We were not shown around and my Dad was not given the chance to try and get orientated to his surroundings. He was given food, no choice was offered and he was just handed a plate of beige something. No checks were made for allergies or intolerances let alone choices. On visiting some staff were amazing others however did not even know his name when I said who I was visiting. A soiled pad was found on the floor, as my dad was not incontinent pre-admission I asked if he was now incontinent, and the staff could not tell me as they had no idea about his needs. No activities were offered and residents were left bored and agitated just wandering the corridors. My honest opinion of this home was it was shiny and new but not equipped to care for people with complex needs.
I visit my friend in dementia care at your service. The staff are kind and I feel comfortable in his final home as I already work in the adult care sector and would consider employment here when his story is complete. I was impressed but also shocked at the low staffing ratio and hence the hard work done to achieve the basic needs of residents. As with my employment, in the last year we have struggled with staff retention and mostly good agency staff have filled the gaps and I witness the extra work to deploy these new people effectively. I supplement the staff by visiting more often than I otherwise would as his partner worries and still feels the need to work hard for his well-being. This is probably a good final home for your beloved friend or relative, but please under the guidance of the overworked staff visit frequently and supplement the care and social life of your loved one and their community.
I was worried about my mum being placed in a care home as you hear and see such awful things. As soon as mum settled into Frances Bolitho Care Home, my concerns disappeared. Mum is happy there and enjoys the social aspect of the day room and breakfast room. She has a lovely en-suite room of her own and is free to walk around the building if that is her wish. She can use her own bathroom, that is spotless, and I am very grateful to the staff for looking after her so well.
The management and all the staff at Frances Bolitho Care Home cared for my father with professionalism, empathy ad understanding. All his needs were well met and it was reassuring to know that he was happy and in the right place. I found the standard of care and attention to needs to be exceptional.
My Dad stayed at Frances Bolitho for approximately 3 months at the end of 2021. It was his first experience in a care home after being in hospital following a number of falls. He was very apprehensive about going to a care home, however, this was very short-lived. The staff made him feel very welcome and couldn't have been more accommodating. I really feel like they went that extra mile. The accommodation was very modern (newly built) and spotlessly clean, and in beautiful surroundings. My Dad loved Frances Bolitho so much he didn't want to leave. He is now back home with a care package, but misses Frances Bolitho, and would happily go back there if could.
The staff are exceptional. Always smiling and willing to help/assist. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Everything in Frances Bolitho Care Home is amazing ¬ the staff are all so friendly and will do anything for the residents, nothing is too much trouble. Can't rate this place highly enough.
