View Full Details of Glyn Thomas HouseMy mother entered the home 4th Sept 2023. In the time that my mother was there my wife and I visited on average three to four times per week. My observation in that time, was that I found everyone, manager, deputy manager, nurses, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, entertainment person, polite, caring, attentive and very professional. I couldn't fault their commitment and attitude towards the job in hand. My mother was treated with dignity and respect, for which we are eternally grateful for.
Your facility made a stressful time so much easier for all of us. We will be forever grateful for the love and care you showed my husband, our dad and my grandad. He still talks often and friendly of you all which means the world to us. You made us all feel welcome and part of the bigger family. And you did it all with the biggest smiles ever. You should all be very proud of yourselves. Words cannot express how thankful we found such an ideal facility for respite care, and when the time comes for full-time care we won't hesitate to ask you to be that lifeline. Thank you again.
It was a heartbreaking time when my husband had to go into a home. But he is being looked after by the most happy, caring people I have ever met. There is always friendly, smiling faces when I visit. It's now our extended family. A big thank you to every one of the staff. Highly recommended.
Our mum was in the home for approximately four years, and during this time, our mum was very happy and loved the staff. We had minor gripes and luckily nothing major. Sadly Mum passed away in January, Mum passed suddenly and from receiving the call to leaving the home, it was handled with such care, love and dignity. It was so traumatic for us but made easier by how it was handled and dealt with. I cannot thank the home enough for this; we had privacy and were all able to stay with Mum till she left the home. The management and staff were truly amazing. For that, we are eternally grateful.
The resident said that it was the best Christmas she had ever had. She loved it in Glyn Thomas House and she is so happy. She has started to communicate again after living on her own for 14 years when her mother died. The manager and staff are excellent.
Our sister has been a resident of Glyn Thomas House for about three/four months. She is usually settled within herself but has sometimes looked a bit dishevelled. The last couple of visits last week and today (24/10/23) she looked absolutely lovely. Whoever has been helping her get dressed in the morning has taken that extra time to ensure she looks so nice, her clothes have been colour coordinated and her hair done beautifully, personal care at its best. Thank you.
I am always quick to complain, my mother's quality of life is the most important thing in mine. But it's only fair to give praise where praise is due. My mother was recently assessed by Social Services for reasons of capacity. The assessor later told me how uplifting and positive an experience it was. She was happy to see Glyn Thomas House making a positive effort to improve the lives of the residents. My mother is always enthused about the staff (kind and caring) and how happy she is there. They have employed someone to carry out activities with the residents and this makes such a difference.
My mum's stay at Glyn Thomas House was very good, the staff were wonderful to my mum, who had lots of kindness, caring and thoughtfulness to her. She loved her biscuits and they obliged by giving her them whenever asked. Food is lovely, plenty of it. Thank you for everything, Mum's end-of-life care was excellent and comforting for all our family and was explained how it would happen at the end.
The home is welcoming but is in need of updating. Care from the care staff is good. Managers need to be more proactive. Activities are not good and need to be more available to the residents. Mum has been in Glyn Thomas House for five and a half years. I feel standards have dropped at this time. Needs more qualified staff to deal with patients with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I am always made to feel welcome, and I know I can approach staff with any concerns.
My mother was admitted to Glyn Thomas House following a broken ankle. She has never been in a care home before and therefore I was concerned as to how she would settle. During my visits, I found all staff from management, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners and etc. were friendly and efficient, with a genuine, caring approach. I felt confident to leave my mother in their very professional care. The surroundings are not salubrious; however, caring staff are more important.
Fantastic caring staff and all the team. Nothing is too much trouble and they have time for a chat relating to anything. My mum is really happy there and I’m pleased for her as I was unsure if she would settle, she loves it. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Keep up the fantastic work.
My mum is looked after really well in the care home. The staff ensure she is spending time with the other residents and always ensures she has had plenty to eat. They take care of her personal care with dignity and she seems happy.
The Manager and staff at Glyn Thomas House have always been approachable. Their care has been very good. Standards are very high and their patience is worth mentioning. It is a top rating Care Home in my book.
My Dad went into Glyn Thomas House for respite, he felt so comfortable and happy with the care he was receiving decided to stay and has been having ongoing care for the past 12 months. My dad enjoys having people around to chat with and really enjoys the meals and cups of tea with chocolate biscuits. He has a lovely bright clean room which looks out over fields. Dad is always clean and tidy when I ring with Whatsapp / face time which the staff are very helpful with as I don't live close to Glyn Thomas House, this enables me to interact with Dad which he looks forward to. When I have visited Dad the staff are very friendly, and residents are enjoying activities and chatting with Dad. I am very happy with the level of care my Dad is receiving.
My father had always maintained that he'd not ever go into a care home. After a fall at home and a short spell in hospital, he became a resident at Glyn Thomas House Care Home for convalescence. On visiting it became obvious that he wholly felt at home, stating frequently that the staff were wonderful, the food good and that he didn't wish to leave and return home, hence became a full-time resident. Lovely large room with an excellent ensuite and super views of the garden. Thank you Glyn Thomas staff for your super caring manner and for looking after my dad so well.
My dad went to Glyn Thomas House for a couple of weeks of respite. He felt so comfortable and happy there he decided to stay! The staff are wonderful and very attentive, caring for Dad as they would one of their own family members. Dad enjoys joining in all the activities and engaging with other residents but also has occasional time out in his room with his TV. The room is a good size and very comfortable and Dad was able to take some of his own possessions to make it his home. The manager and her staff make sure the family are fully informed in all aspects of Dad's life in the home. I can't praise them enough for their care, dedication and attention - I know Dad is in safe hands.
This care home is excellent. Friendly, approachable staff who really care about the service users.
The care my mum received at Glyn Thomas House was outstanding. She was a resident in the care home for a little over year. During the last 3 months of her life she became increasingly ill and the staff provided a level of care that went well beyond what we could ever have expected. There is an ethos of kindness which seems to be the foundation of the institution. This kindness was also extended to my sister and me during our visits.
My parents have improved so much since they came here. The atmosphere is so happy here and the staff are so caring, they always have a smile on their faces and nothing is too much trouble. We visit often and more than satisfied with the care given. What a lovely home.
My parents are happy, very well looked after, the home is like living with family - everyone is treated like family even visitors. Very clean, food is amazing, staff are wonderful. I don't have to worry anymore.
