View Full Details of Knowle Gate Care Home - Avery HealthcareI have been at Knowle Gate for 4 months. I am improving daily and this is due to the care and attention of the staff and management here.
Very good staff make this home so successful. Excellent food and activities. A larger bistro area would enhance the experiences of residents as would more activities in the evening. Patients suffering from dementia are given activities that are interesting and stimulating.
Always a lovely, happy atmosphere whenever I visit my dad. It's wonderful seeing my dad so happy and content and joining in with all the wonderful activities. He absolutely adores the ladies who come in for a sing-along. He also loves most of the staff. Gaynor gets a special mention as she's so genuine, joyful and so genuine in her care and understanding of all the residents, particularly getting the best out of the residents who have dementia. If I had to choose one thing that's negative my dad would love a double bed in place of the standard single bed.
Mum was admitted to Knowle Gate Care Home after a hospital stay. The staff helped her settle in and have given her lots of encouragement to settle in. While at Knowle Gate we can see a marked improvement in her health. She has become more sociable again and enjoys taking part in activities. She is walking more and eating so much better. The team at Knowle Gate could not do more to improve Mum's wellbeing. So pleased this is the choice made for her.
My mum 91 became a resident 6 months ago and I cant believe the improvement in her well-being, walking, and social skills. Everyone has been so welcoming, engages with my mum, and actively encourages her to join in with the various activities. Mum loves the weekly art and music sessions.
My mother stayed in Knowle Gate for 3 months whilst recovering from illness, and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the way the whole home is run and maintained. Having had an experience of another home in the Solihull area, this home is clearly 5 Star, and everyone from the reception staff, the carers, management and even the maintenance personnel, could not have done more to make Mum feel welcome and at home. I found all the staff to be personable and very caring and in particular the head carer who went above and beyond to ensure Mum received the best care and medical attention when required. It is thanks to the staff that Mum was able to recover her strength to be able to return home successfully. I would unreservedly recommend Knowle Gate. Thank you!
Since my friend came to Knowle Gate Care Home she has a renewed energy for life! She loves the activities and always speaks highly of all the staff! I've been so impressed with the calm, friendly atmosphere and the very many genuinely caring staff. The home and gardens are always immaculate.
My dear friend has been at the home for less than a week but we can see already that she is very well cared for. It is such a wonderful environment with the gardens, terraces and pleasant rooms. The staff are caring, friendly and professional. I cannot thank you enough!
On the whole, we are very pleased that we chose Knowle Gate Care home to look after my father. There are some exceptional members of the team that we cannot fault and they have developed a great relationship with Dad. There have been times where we have had to raise issues but the fact that we are still happy to give a 5/5 mark, the reality is probably 4.7. Thank you for the care you give my father. It is appreciated.
This care home is very welcoming. Reception is helpful and takes me to the lift as my friend is on the first floor. The staff know people's names and give so much care, smiling and laughing, so my friend feels at home.
Where do I start? I can not thank the staff at Knowle Gate enough for all that they have done for my mom and our family. Knowle Gate have been amazing. They provide specialist dementia care and support for residents under and over 65, in a setting that is warm, welcoming and homely. They have helped my mom to regain her confidence, self-esteem and purpose. The staff consider the residents personalised hobbies and interests and they go the extra mile to see each and every one of their residents smile. Since my mom has been at Knowle Gate she has flourished. Everything she tells me about Knowle Gate is positive. From the meals she eats, the friends she’s made and the activities that she has taken part in, she has really enjoyed her time there. Mom values the staff and residents as an extension of her family and so do we. Thank you for everything that you do and thank you for being apart of our journey we really do appreciate you.
My relative has been living at Knowle Gate care home for 18 months. It is a light and bright home, with accessible gardens. During this time we have found all staff (care, reception, maintenance, laundry, activity, cleaning and chefs) to be approachable, welcoming, kind and compassionate. I can highly recommend Knowle Gate Care Home.
I am Power of Attorney for an elderly lady and I chose this care home for her based on the location, facilities and the level of care. I can honestly say that since she's been in Knowle Gate Care Home, my work as Power of Attorney has been very easy as everything is taken care of, and my elderly friend seems more happy than she's been for a long time. The price is obviously not cheap, but it is absolutely worth it! And it is nice for friends and relatives to visit as well! I cannot comment on food and drink as I have not personally tried any, but free coffee and cakes for visitors in the reception area are always nice.
Mum has dementia and has been a resident for two years now. During that time her dementia has developed further and the staff have been brilliant throughout helping me and Mum adapt. The activities program is crucial to Mum, especially anything involving singing and movement, and the home puts on so many different activities each week. The backup support from the care staff, receptionists, hairdressers, chiropodist, and doctor have been excellent especially now that movement is becoming more restrictive. Mum and I love the social events that are organised for residents and visitors, a chance for everyone to meet. The home is not perfect, no because it’s not their own home but I still believe it’s the closest I can get to making her feel like it.
My father initially went into Knowle Gate for some respite. However, we have since found out he has terminal cancer and has now moved into Knowle Gate. My family and I like the services the home offers and the staff have been amazing! They are treating him with respect and dignity, and only last night when I visited him, he said that he had been kept company that day by one of the nursing team, who sat on the arm of the chair talking with him. What's important to us is he likes it there, and I can confirm he does. Big thanks to the staff manager. The care home is clean, the staff are friendly, supportive, and respectful and whenever there's been an incident, such as when my dad fell the other week, they were there within seconds, something we couldn't offer him when he was at home alone. The only negative I can give is that sometimes when I visit him, his room can be quite untidy, but honestly, it is how they treat him that matters. P.S. Sort the coffee machine out!
The management stability in recent months has improved the situation. Also, the focus on permanent rather than agency personnel is a significant improvement. Further measures which would benefit the home would be for staff to help residents who need it at meal times.
My mother has settled extremely well and all the staff have been amazing. She is enjoying the range of activities and company provided. She looks much more relaxed compared to before she became a resident and was trying to cope at home on her own.
My mother is always treated with kindness whatever the situation, and clearly feels safe and well cared for. Staff are friendly and considerate towards visitors too, at all times. The view from her window gives great pleasure to my mother as does the pleasant, well-tended, easily accessed garden. The facilities are excellent for residents and visitors alike. It is always a pleasure to visit Knowle Gate Care Home.
My father came into Knowle Gate Care Home for respite care after a spell in hospital. He is 93 and has received such wonderful care and attention from all the staff involved with him. The food there is very varied and served like in a hotel. Lovely clean rooms and different lounges to sit in make this a care home to be highly recommended.
My Dad arrived in the organised chaos of Christmas celebrations! We received a warm welcome from the staff. Knowle Gate is a lovely environment. The staff are extremely caring and provide excellent care. My Dad’s room has a great view over the playing fields and he likes to watch the matches and the planes arriving/departing from Birmingham airport. There’s a wide range of activities planned each week ranging from singing to dominoes.
