View Full Details of Grove Park HealthcareMy husband went into Grove Park as they said nursing caring would be offered. There were issues from the start to do with him not being supported with eating, subsequently weight loss. He was often cold and inadequately dressed, despite requesting he needed more layers. In November he got a stomach upset but I wasn't informed. The resulting lack of care had him ending up in hospital with severe dehydration and hypo delirium. He died a few days later. At no time did any of the managers telephone to ask how he was. One of the nurses didn't even know he'd died when his things were collected. The place is poorly managed, doesn't have enough experienced staff, the issue of English as a second language and often not being understood or understanding is a problem as well. They took him in saying they could take care of him and my experience is that definitely wasn't the case. I certainly would not recommend this place.
My mother-in-law has been at Grove Park for over two years now. She has severe dementia, is bed-bound and requires 24/7 attention. Everyone from the security guards, the food delivery guys, the nursing staff and the admin staff have been absolutely incredible with her and us. Mum has had several trips to the hospital due to her advanced state, breathing problems etc and they have always been spectacularly caring. Also for my father-in-law who is 93 and is hard for him to hear and walk, they are always looking after him when he comes and visits her. Me and my husband cannot thank the staff enough for all they have done for her. Thank you all.
I appreciated the staff's patience in helping my husband to recover from a trying hospital experience. We always found a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. He left here much improved.
Without exception, all staff were caring, attentive and professional. They were all aware of my mother's name, room number and needs and provided the medical and personal care she required. They also went above and beyond by supporting my father during this difficult and stressful time. The building and furniture are new, in good condition and of good quality. The grounds are conclusive to a comfortable and healing environment.
My stay at Grove Park was prolonged due to 'care plan' difficulties. I found the staff excellent, friendly and efficient across the board. I was surprised to discover that many were experienced and qualified nurses in their own country of origin, but were denied this status in the UK. I feel that in-service training would help them to achieve this and acknowledge their expertise! Meals were variable and usually cold.
My husband has Alzheimer's, I had a stay in the hospital recently, as he can't stay at home alone we had to find him care. He has been well looked after and quite happy at Grove Park Healthcare. The staff are kind and caring, making him welcome and at home. Would not hesitate to recommend the care given, and also to return in future if necessary.
My mother moved here six weeks ago but unfortunately passed away last weekend. During the last eight days of her life, she was made comfortable but we did have some problems with her pain relief and I actually had to go and get her some. There were also some issues with some communication problems between staff members. There are some amazing nurses and senior nurses there. I do feel some staff should have end-of-life training and there were at times issues with staff not understanding our situation.
My mum went into Grove Part Care Home following three weeks in hospital. She needed to be rehabilitated while waiting for a care package, spending around eight weeks here. During this time, she was very well looked after, the carers were kind, compassionate, patient and understanding in all her needs. She regained the ability to walk by herself with a walker, to be able to use the toilet once more and do general things again. Mum enjoyed being able to eat cooked meals in the community dining area, this really encouraged her to eat more! She was encouraged to sit in the community lounge where carers would often spend time with her.
Highly recommend this care home. It is well run by an experienced manager, with caring staff and a knowledgeable nursing team. The rooms are modern and clean and you are encouraged to personalise and bring on your own belongings to make it feel like home. So glad we found this care home.
I have been a resident since Grove Park Healthcare first opened at first I would not leave my room but with the encouragement from the staff in the day room all the time. Staff are very kind and I'm now settled. I love the company and I'm not lonely anymore.
My brother has been here for four months and I am extremely happy. The environment is clean and very well maintained. Everyone from the cleaners to the manager is friendly and caring, meaning he settled in very quickly.
My husband is well cared for and the staff have taken time to get to know and understand him. The home facilities are good, especially as being purpose-built. A great deal of effort was made to help the residents and families enjoy the Christmas and New Year period. The staff are very aware of residents' needs and dietary preferences. Cannot fault the home or staff - thank you.
My mother came to Grove Park Healthcare as her 24-hour home care was not sufficient. She wandered at night and required help with all her hygiene and feeding tasks. Grove Park Healthcare welcomed her and the staff could not do enough for her. The nursing care was excellent, as was her daily care. Sadly, she became very sick and the support for our family was second to none. I can't fault any part of her or our care. Thank you.
My sister is really happy here, the staff are brilliant and the nursing home itself is new and modern and very comfortable. The family are thrilled that our sister is here and very happy.
Grove Park is like home-from-home. We get a warm reception every time we visit my sister. All the staff are so lovely and happy to help you with any concerns you may have. My sister loves it here and is treated with respect, dignity and lots of care and love. We, as her family, couldn't wish for anything more, and we are so pleased that we chose this home for her. We can relax knowing that she is well cared for in every respect and loves her new, happy and comfortable home!
